Foothill pushes you slightly harder and requires more requirements to graduate than some of the other Ventura county high schools which gives you an extra boost for getting into a good college. I was not sure if I should go to fths or vhs as an 8th grader, but I'm happy in my choice of foothill and if you are a motivated student I'm sure you will be to!

Upon arrival, I was told by my supervisor Anna Anne? to leave the playground equipment area; that is was her area to oversee. My area was the open blacktop. Anna did not address the child to get him to get off the slide. He remained at the bottom of the slide, head downward, legs up. From math and science (his favorite subjects) to yoga, gardening and sports day - the school really strives to develop the whole child and their place in the world. My son came to Peppermint Junction from an in home daycare to Pre-k. With Ms. Lory's loving and gentle approach, he adapted quickly and loves going to school. He is currently in T-k with Ms. Kelly and he blossomed to be communicative, thoughtful, understanding of what is being asked of him and the expectations. All teachers work incredibly well together and their number one priority is the children, ensuring they are feeling secure mentally, socially, and physically. If you ever have questions about how and why certain things are done, the teachers are more than happy to explain and work collaboratively with the parents. I can't say enough good things about the experiences I have had at Peppermint Junction and the caring staff/owner. They also had no complaints or code violations when I looked them up so it made me feel at ease. Honestly it was one of the best rated schools in the Oxnard area. I was hesitant as my kids have attended mostly Montessori but after a few weeks I was sure this was a great decision. The best part, is that my son is starting to speak more words and sing songs when he is at home. Thank you Kathy, Yesi, and other teachers as well! At the very beginning of the month my daughter was suspended for behavior even though I believe the teacher mishandled the situation. I decided to pull her from the school since it was her last month and I was told I would be refunded for the tuition I paid for May, nearly $1,200 since she only attended 2 days that month. When my follow up calls weren't actively being ignored I was told by office staff that the director Kris handled financing and would call me back. This went on for months before I gave up on being refunded. Months later I'm still upset with how they handled the situation. They discussed my personal information with my family who also had a child enrolled and even issued her a partial refund when she parted ways early, but not me. I feel disrespected by the situation and because of that I would never recommend this daycare to anyone I know personally.
