I am giving two stars because I came to my sons graduation and I can't even see him when he gets called up to receive his diplomaand I am sure I don't stand (literally)alone who feels disappointed to not be able to see our loved ones receive their diplomas on this special day. 3 kids who now with my son being the last one graduate from this school and I have to say that a better seating arrangement needs to be put in play for future families,so they don't miss out what many and myself are missing out on.I have a suggestion,If the bleachers were to be reserved for direct families only and the cousins ,tias ,godfathers could be on the side lines,basically if you are not the parent side lines. The big empty field behind the graduates what a waste,whoever did the planning(fire them )appoint someone else,in 2005 the seating arrangement and 2019 was better. Invest on some renting some big screens something,advice to all future graduate families know just watch your loved ones on you tube at home while you prepare that surprise graduation party your kid will forgive you for not being there because I can tell you that I am here and it's like I am not. read more

Even though its fairly new, its become a tradition in my family to graduate from Pacifica High School. So far five of us cousins/siblings have graduated and we've all had a blast. The school is very well run previously by Principal Dabbs who left of great legacy as the first principal and now by Principal Beltran who as far as I can tell is doing an awesome job. I really enjoyed all the activities that the school has to offer. They have a great culinary arts program, video production, dance, band, not to mention all the sports. While some programs might be difficult to get into, with some persistence most schedules are doable. When it comes to testing, PHS has improved every year and now is one of the best large public schools in the city. Pacifica is a great high school and I'm honored to be the first to review this place. read more

If you want the defiant of horrible education system and horrible lazy staff, check this high school out. Let's talk wait times, if you want to speak to records, the two will take several hours and move at a snails pace to make sure they don't overdo it or work a normal work load. Counselors are unorganized, nobody here knows what's going on as all it's sad. Overall crime bad, drugs bad, and staff probably the cherry on top of the disaster cake. read more

Honestly, phs may be one of the best schools in the county. Why? Well, the teachers are probably the most caring individuals in the district. They are attentive to the students and try to help them succeed without giving them the answers. Don't blame the teachers for your child's failure. It was their fault entirely and you know it. On another note, the classes offered at this school are college prep and they do prepare you for college courses. They also have a good portion of A.P./ Advanced placement classes. I took quite a few of these classes and did in fact find them interesting and enlightening, I also passed the majority of my tests due to the amazing A.P. teachers such as Mr. Ceara and Mr. Rodriguez, and Mr. Beck. As for life on campus, there are many students on campus. So it may seem a bit crowded to introverts but the campus is quite large so there are many hangout places for those who prefer a more quiet scenery. The only problem I have found with the campus is getting lunch or nutrition. For being such a large school, the cafeteria is tiny and there are not many windows to get food. They have just opened a few more windows by the library so it may reduce the amount of kids not getting lunch. But this is something that they can improve on. The staff and the counselors also need improvement. The staff can be a bit rude in some circumstances but they will get the job done. This is usually a problem on most school though. A bit of respectful insisting will get you what you need. As for the counselors, some of them are in fact negligent towards the students. In the circumstance of that happening, you should talk to your principal or assistant principal. But the two counselors I had while attending this school were very helpful. Mr. Farias and Mr. Perez were very helpful. Many people try use the fact of idiotic teens using drugs as a reason to not attend this school, when in fact the drug using students is at a minimum. The school condemns drug usage. While other schools have been notoriously called out for having teachers selling narcotics to the students. Again, if your child is using narcotics, do not blame the school. It was entirely your child's decision. While attending this school, I was offered drugs twice on campus and reported it immediately. It was completely my decision to use them or not. In retrospect, Pacifica is a great school for students who WANT to learn and WANT have a great high school experience. If the adolescent is more rebellious, the school tries to cater to their needs. If the child is handicapped, the school will also cater to their needs. Pacifica has had its ups and downs. But many students have graduated and have grown up into amazing adults. Pacifica can provide a great growing and learning experience to the students who look for opportunities to thrive. read more

Didn't like the students at PHS. Teachers are really nice and caring. Takes 20minutes just to grab some lunch. My councilor was really lazy. Overall didn't enjoy my time at PHS. read more
