I tried it repeatedly - it wasn't the sunlight - it clearly wasn't working. So I tried squeezing the handle for a second to see if that told me which gas I was getting, but still not working, so I put the handle back in & took a photo of the charges (paper receipt unavailable, often not refilled at this place). I took the photo after it went back to 0, but figured it's ok. I left the pump out (making sure it wasn't leaking anything) so the next customer & cashier would know it's not working right. I figured I may have to go inside anyway, since there may be no paper receipt at the next pump either. I went to another pump & as I started to fill up, the cashier came on the intercom & asked why the pump was out. I told him it wasn't working, he said it will charge my card when the next customer pays (I didn't think so, but didn't want to deal with it in the unlikely event he was correct on that), so I said I'd come in. When I came in, he demanded I put the pump back in before he gave me my receipt & repeatedly interrupted me when I tried to explain what happened. This guy did not want me to have any control in the conversation! He was so incredibly rude & confrontational that I called Amex right in front of him & they assured me he was wrong - there would be no more charges on my account. I told him the right way to treat a customer in this situation is to apologize for the inconvenience & assure the customer that it will be fixed, & give them their receipt quickly - not demand the customer re-set the handle for them & make the customer come back in a second time before giving them their receipt. So, in the end, they still have to fix the pump but they lost a customer (with a very large vehicle) who routinely went in for a fill up pretty much exclusively there. Was this a good business decision on how to handle a minor technical problem? To borrow a movie line: "What would a smart man do? What would Plato do?"

Apparently I only gave her $30 but she starts immediately SCREAMING in my face about "why do you need change" and barely gets it out so I can understand. The manager doubles down and demands my receipt. I walk out to the pump in the heat with a cane. He snatches the receipt from me and slams it on the counter and says "you only paid $30 you have your money" again I can barely understand. I told them both I'm never going back there and I haven't in months and never plan to again. I don't care if I run out of gas. I've never been treated like that before and I'm pretty laid back. I don't understand how you can be in customer service and just start screaming at a customer rather than simply explaining what the mix up was. I would have been fine had they simply explained it. I never once said ANYTHING besides "I just need change please". And chaos ensued. Think twice about going here until new management comes in. Absolutely reprehensible no business is customer service at all.

The benefit to going to this station is it is full serve. The station is near my house so it is easy. I always found the guys at the pumps to be nice and always pumped the gas fine, No spillage or anything bad. My review of this Citgo would of been a 4 stars, But just after the Sandy hurricane, There price for gas jumped about 40-50 cents a gallon overnight. Not sure if they all of a sudden had to pay more or not but when you are desperate for gas you go were you have to go. Like all customers I did not like the fact that it seemed like they were price gouging ?????.
