Just wanted to try someone new to see if we can get a more consistent grooming experience. Also, our dogs have been at their grooming place for as much as 6 hours, even though we drop them off at 10 or 10:30, depending. They can't go that long without a bathroom stop. They don't go there but as soon as they're out the door, they go and go and go. Then, they are out of it for the rest of the day. Love Jill but we can't do this to our dogs until there's some consistency with the groomers. Just in response to Jill, we have never had fewer than 2 dogs and usually have had three, and they never took so long before the last few times. At times, each was done by a different groomer but since there have only been two there the last few times, at least that we saw, obviously that was a problem. Also, even though they are Cavaliers, two of them have scant coats so we don't consider them long-haired as they rarely need cutting every time except around paws. The dogs peed and peed when they left the grooming, more than they usually do and drank tons of water when they got home so I can't see how they were walked while there or got enough water as I can only go with their behavior when we picked them up.

Each time I've gone (5 visits) we asked for the same cut and got different results. Last visit i was called after 40 minutes of dropping off saying he was done. What!?!? I arrived and it was as if they just gave him a bath and used scissors to do a small trim and his nails weren't even cut. Horrible. A month later (today) I had to bring him back because he was overgrown and hot. When I arrived I was very clear that I was giving them a second chance as I was just in a month ago and he looked like nothing was done. The lady said they had "helpers" at that time as if that was a good excuse. This time, I picked him up and he looks like a rat. And he's been hiding all day and scared. I'm done. No more. The guy picking up his dog ahead of me complained too about his dogs face/head. It was a poodle and he was disappointed. Inconsistent results for the same haircut and it looks like a child cut his hair. His feet are ridiculous!

I always tipped generously. When they raised the price to $20, I still tipped generously. The price was raised again earlier this year to $25. I have more than one dog (and they are small-breed) and I cannot add a tip to that. I don't know if they continued to raise the price because other customers weren't tipping or what. But IF that's the case, I shouldn't have to pay extra because certain customers may have been "cheap" or simply couldn't afford it for whatever personal reasons. Anyways, I don't know the reason for the price increase but it doesn't really matter. It's the principle. So to the employees... I have always been a generous tipper at ANY business. I'm truly sorry that I'm no longer tipping on top of the new $25 per-dog fee. I just ask that you try to show some understanding and compassion when I pay at the counter instead of looking irritated and judgmental. That was my experience the last time I went to your location and I was pretty disappointed but I would never expect that reaction from the rest of the girls. To that one girl: be kind, it's easy. Not to mention her hair had started to mat around her ears and I had no idea how to help. We just relocated to Sumter County and wanted to find a groomer we could trust, but didn't know where to start. Barkingham had glowing reviews, so we decided to give them a call. Not only did Josie get us in immediately, she did a beautiful job, and was so patient with my Stella girl. Stella has very high anxiety and tries to run at the smallest sound, so our previous groomer (who was located in our vet's office) would only groom her if she was anesthetized first because she couldn't get Stella to hold still. Josie reported no issues and Stella was in a great mood and looked so cute. The whole family agreed it was the best she has looked after a grooming appointment, ever. And she had a cute little bow in her hair to boot. We will definitely be making Barkingham Palace our #1 choice in pup grooming. I know I can trust Josie to take good care of our sweet girl.
