Since moving to Fort Wayne nearly a year ago, I'd been hesitant to find a new mechanic--I had someone I really trusted before relocating, and finding that kind of service again can be tough. Thankfully, Chips Auto Repair exceeded every expectation. They diagnosed the problems quickly--turns out I needed all four brake pads replaced, new spark plugs, and a repair on my right front axle. I'm not very knowledgeable about the cost of car repairs, but I didn't find their pricing to be expensive at all, especially considering the amount of work that was done. Everything felt fair and transparent. What really stood out was their outstanding communication. They kept me updated every step of the way, explained everything clearly, and made sure I understood what was going on. They even worked around my schedule, letting me drop off my car when it was convenient--and they had everything done the same day. It's rare to find a mechanic that's both skilled and trustworthy. I'm so glad I found Chip's, and I'd recommend them to anyone looking for honest, top-quality auto service in Fort Wayne.

About two years ago i purchased four new Firestone Transformer tires here for my pickup truck, had…read morethem installed and alignment. These tires worked well for me in the past and this place had a good price on them. Even though I made an appointment for first one in the morning. I was the last one out the door. So much for making an appointment. When they processed my paperwork and payment, I was told during the alignment process there was a bolt on the front end drivers side that needed replaced for the alignment but they didn't have it. They told me to return at some point and they would repair it. I ended up leaving the state for almost a year and when I returned I took it back to get the bolt installed. However, they took several hours again and this time told me I needed a whole new front end that would cost roughly $2,700!!! I was shocked!!! i told them i didn't have $2,700 to spend and the year prior they said everything looked good on the front end. Now, the strange thing is the service lady there was the same one who sold me the tires and could have looked on my record and seen that I used the Firestone credit card to purchase the tires and could have presumably used the same card to pay for the front end work. Thank God she didn't offer it. I picked up my truck and took it to my regular mechanic and he inspected the entire front end and said he saw no problems at all..... It has driven fine all year and continues to drive fine. You make up your own mind, but I will purchase my tires elsewhere next time.....
