I just had P & R Septic Systems evaluate and repair a problem with my septic system. They found that there were roots blocking the line from the tank to the leach field and they were able to repair it quickly. They also discovered some minor damage to the outflow fitting on the septic tank and are going to repair it after I have the tank pumped. They put a cleanout on the line to the leach field too. The whole experience was easy and as enjoyable as a septic repair could be. The crew was pleasant to work with, extremely skilled and when they were done it was like it never happened. Mark, Matt, and their crew were a pleasure to work with. Matt was on-site for a leach field inspection promptly, and was able to quickly diagnose the problem (tree roots). Matt provided a very reasonable quote and replaced the leach field with a new type of system with a 24" diameter chamber. The work was completed as planned, and the cost was proactively reduced from the original quote after it was determined that a permit was not required. After the new lines were installed, Matt and his crew repaired all the severed irrigation pipes (the leach field is under a lawn), regraded the soil, and rebuilt the access gate and fence that had to be removed for equipment access. I had to replace my ~40 year old septic tank and leach lines. For anyone who is familiar with this process, and as I learned, this is a pretty big job and requires lots of attention to detail. I rec'd a couple of quotes and went with Mark at P&R Septic. Interestingly, I corresponded with him on the phone and through email but never actually met him. He pulled the permit, replaced everything and even took pictures so I could see what was going on since I could not be on site. He did a great job, very professional, and everything seems to be in good shape (it's been about a year since he did the work and there hasn't been any issues). The septic tank at my recently purchased house needed to be replaced. It was initially installed years ago before the garden was landscaped with walls that made it impossible to access the septic site. Last Saturday our septic system failed. We called the same vendor in Napa we always call and it took them 5 days to show up. They confirmed that the pump to the leach field went bad and that our tank is full, which means we can't use the house anymore. Emergency you would think? Not! They told us they can't come the next day and of course not over the weekend and would not commit to Monday. "I didn't hear back from this" and "I dont' know if we can get this pump" and "he didn't call me back yet." My neighbor heard about the situation and asked if I called Mark from P&R. Once I realized that that the "other" folks basically dropped the ball on us I called Mark. 24 hours after that call we are up and running with a new pump and a brilliant fresh setup (as much as you can use those words to describe a septic system.) Yes, Mark and his crew were busy. As you can see from the previous review it's not like they were sitting around doing nothing. Yet, Mark seems to be able to recognize emergencies, organize priorities, stay in-touch with the customer and do as he promises! His crew was here this morning, on-time, professional, courteous, and left the job site clean and in great shape. The estimate provided was as fair as it gets.
