I hired Sbragia initially to give our old septic tank a long-overdue pumping and inspection. This was done promptly and at a price that was reasonable based on comparative bids. The inspection revealed a crack in the baffle wall and a missing baffle intake. The work to repair these items was again done promptly and at a reasonable price. In the process, Jonathan did some additional sealing work at no extra charge and determined that some further potential work was unnecessary, thereby avoiding additional substantial costs. We recently had the pleasure of working with Sbragia Septic Service during the purchase of a large property in Petaluma, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. My clients were purchasing a property with an existing septic system, but the seller was unable to provide any meaningful information about its condition or layout. John, the owner of Sbragia Septic Service, personally answered our call and promptly scheduled the inspection. During the initial inspection, John had to dig down 2' in compact gravel to access heavy concrete access covers. Once uncovered, he pumped the holding tanks and snaked a video camera through the system. The video system was clear, showing multiple significant issues, including failed baffle walls, a broken outlet pipe leading to the first distribution box that had been improperly installed, and a failed first distribution box that prevented him from further completing the inspection. When John returned the following week to begin the repairs, the scope of the project became significantly larger. He had to cut through asphalt that had been laid directly over the outlet pipe and one distribution box. As the work progressed, he uncovered six additional distribution boxes, one of which had completely failed. He also found several leach lines clogged with roots and encountered multiple water lines that had been installed along the septic system that were broken during the excavation process. Despite the unexpected challenges, John and his crew worked tirelessly until 8:00 PM that evening to complete the repairs. They came fully equipped, sourced the necessary replacement parts for an older septic system, and handled every obstacle with professionalism, expertise, and determination. Their willingness to go above and beyond ensured the repairs were completed in time to keep the property purchase on schedule. John and his team demonstrated exceptional knowledge, work ethic, and commitment to customer service throughout the entire process. After having two other companies come out with little clarity or follow-up, I called John with a question about our septic system--and he actually answered the phone! I had a root problem in a leach field. I asked them to auger the line. Instead they pressure washed it. This did nothing to fix the problem. The truck they sent didn't have an auger on it. They drove off. The guy they send was nice and on time, so two stars instead of 1. read more

Used Yelp's quote service to solicit bids to pump out our 1300 gallon septic system. I received a couple of quotes relatively quickly (including from Sbragia), with an additional quote that came in too late for consideration.** Service was confirmed for Friday, between 10am-Noon. On the day of service, I sent an additional message providing detailed directions to our property (which can sometimes be challenging if one is only relying on mapping apps). Sbragia confirmed receipt of the directions. Disappointingly, the truck did not arrive within the appointed time window. I first texted Sbragia just prior to noon, called them 25 minutes later and left a message, and finally, contacted them via Yelp at 1:30pm--a full hour and a half after the appointment window. I did not receive a response to any of these attempts to contact Sbragia. I was concerned that, maybe the truck was involved in an accident, as I assumed that they would contact me if they were running late. Nope -- the truck arrived around 15-20 minutes after my last contact -- almost 2 hours late. The poor customer contact is the sole reason for the rating downgrade. Once on site, the work was done carefully and thoroughly. The operator was very polite, and was considerate of the plantings in the area. The final "wrinkle" in the experience is that I was quoted $650 for the service (in range with other quotes), but the truck operator said the amount due was $700. A quick call to the office corrected the issue (Save your online quote on your phone (or PC) in case there is a discrepancy between the quote and the presented bill) NOTE: **If you use Yelp's service, you'll also get responses from some irrelevant service providers, who will reply that they don't perform that type of work. You may also want to contact some additional providers who don't participate in Yelp's service. read more

I had a clogged septic system, and called Sbragia Septic Service to diagnose and clear the problem. Jonathan came out the next day, and quickly diagnosed the problem as tree roots in the first distribution box. He cleared the roots and suggested we use his camera to inspect the rest of the system.
