When my A/C went out on Monday, they were the first company I called. Got a voice mail stating if I wanted after hours service, to call a different number and if I wanted to leave a message, call another different number. I stayed on the phone and finally a woman answered. She stated that she wasn't sure when she would get the message to the repair person and if I wanted to leave a message, I had to call a different number. She was fairly rude in the process of talking with me and why couldn't she transfer me. I called and left my number on Monday afternoon. It is now Thursday and nobody has called me back. Meanwhile, I called two other companies and both have responded and set appointments. I will never call them again and I would not recommend them ever. read more

After a few muggy days, I called and was given a same day appointment. Chris arrived in a timely manner and diagnosed my issues. He had me cooled off in less than an hour! Before he did any work, I was provided with a ABC list of items. A - was the do now, B - in the future & C were "luxury" enhancements. The fee for diagnosis was the same as other places I called. The repair costs were reasonable, and the tech was excellent! He did not try to pad the bill or sell me unnecessary items. I will most likely purchase the service contract before the winter comes. I have had a lot of difficulties with PK Wadsworth. 1. I have an annual service contract with them. But when I call to schedule service (for maintenance of my boiler, for example), it can be weeks to months to get somebody to come out. And then, last winter, they cancelled several times. 2. Had my high velocity AC installed by them in 2011. Whenever somebody from their company comes to look at the installation they ask me "Who installed this?" and then go to note how poorly it was done. 3. They also never know the details of how to access the unit and always need to figure out how to access the air handler (which they also set up). It never seems that there is any continuity or even notes. 4. The AC has a leak. Detected 2 years ago. They did not do a search, but rather put something in the system to block it. Last year nobody even looked for the leak (because they don't communicate). And this year when found, well that 's a whole separate point. 5. The AC still has a leak (of course, because it was poorly installed and the leak found 2 years ago was never repaired). A technician came 3 weeks ago and told me "You have a leak. Call the office tomorrow and speak with Mr. Paul Cantrell or Mr. Tyler Wadsworth and indicate that you need this fixed". He did not offer repair plans, nothing. I called the following day, and could never reach Mr. Cantrell or Mr. Wadsworth, but instead was put through a gentleman named Mike on service, who helped coordinate service the following week when I was away, but my wife would be home. They didn't show up; apparently the person "forgot" to set up. One more week later, we finally had service appointment, of course they tell you 5-7 and show at the end of the period because you can wait. Somebody came and detected the leak. They left the system off (so not even air circulation can be turned on) and the entryway to my attic open, as if they were coming the following day. But there was a part they needed to order "but it takes one to three days". It has been a whole week now. Nobody can give us an answer except that the service group and the scheduling group do not communicate. Yesterday I called at 11:50 and the person who can answer about the part is "out to lunch"...no comments. My system still cannot run and the entrance is still open. At this point I call the several times a day because I have zero confidence that they will follow up. Needless to say, we do not feel we've had good service, and what has been worse is the fact that the same company that installs the AC then tells me that it was not installed right. How can that be? and what kind of guarantees are there that they don't continue to do shoddy work. None, of course. read more

Moved into my first home in South Euclid with my fiancé and we finished moving all day in 90 degree summer heat and it seemed like the air conditioning was blowing warm air. Of course we hadn't even been in the house for 24 hrs and we already had a problem. Got in touch with PK Wadsworth and they sent Eric out. He was thorough and really helpful. I cannot remember ever writing another review. This is the worst company that I have ever dealt with. They were scheduled to service our boilers on September 24, 2018. They called prior to September 24, 2018 and cancelled the service on September 24 and rescheduled the service for October 16. I called them later in the day on October 16 when they did not show up as scheduled and they said that they cancelled our service on October 16 without contacting us and rescheduled the service for October 26. It is October 26 today and they called about an hour before they were scheduled to arrive and told me that they have cancelled our service today and have rescheduled us for November 23. The lady at PK Wadsworth said that they left a voice message on our telephone earlier this morning saying that they left a voice message on our telephone saying that they had cancelled our service today, which they did not. read more

The service agent was very nice, but I didn't feel comfortable with respect to the things that were stated that I needed to repair my unit. It appears that my unit was installed improperly three years ago, prior to my purchasing my home. To repair and correct the unit they were going to charge me $2100 to repair and another $2600, to correct my improperly installed ductwork. At this point, it became obvious to me, that it would be in my best interest just to get a new unit which may cost a little bit more. I got another company, received a quote for a brand new Carrier air-conditioning unit that is larger then my current unit and it's going to cost me a total of $4300, including new duct work. Called Monday for an appointment due to furnace not working. I was told the earliest appointment available was Thursday. The appointment was scheduled. Thursday morning I got a call that they were canceling my appointment due to being overbooked! Weather is now freezing and I have to schedule someone else and pay emergency rates. Called when my 28 year old AC unit broke. Knowing I didn't want to invest any money into a repair of such an old unit I told them I wanted a new one. I was told someone still had to come out and diagnose the unit. I was also told I could not schedule an install date just to get on the books. It took a week for the guy to come out and diagnose. I was told he'd be over at 3:00, but he arrived at 5:30. I later was told I never should have been told an arrival time. The next day a guy was to come out to give me a quote. He was to arrive at 4:00. He called and asked if he could come at 5:00, to which I replied no. He arrived at 4:45. He was friendly enough but certainly had a used car salesman vibe going on. The earliest they could get the install done was the 17th. If they had been able to hold a date for me when I first called it would have shaved a week off. Luckily, I was on a cancellation list and the install was moved up. They dropped off a window AC unit for me. Unfortunately, it didn't cool, it only blew air like a fan. That was on a Friday. On Monday I got a different window unit loaned to me that worked. He set the unit down on my white carpet so he could open the window more. Yes, on my white carpet. The guy said because my install was in a couple of days he was just going to leave the broken AC unit with me. I had a huge, broken AC unit on my dining room floor. Attractive. The AC installation went off without a hitch until the end. They were unaware that both window AC units were theirs and almost left without them. They took the units and left. I went back upstairs because I was in a virtual training class. I heard noises, came down to investigate, and saw that (despite my warning them that I had cats AND that they had turned the air on) the window had been left WIDE OPEN! Yes, my tiny cat got out. Luckily, despite being an indoor cat, she was cowering beneath the neighbor's car instead of hunting chipmunks. I then found a load of new screws on the basement floor. I guess they dropped the box and failed to pick them all up. I also found lint, wire pieces and a big piece of sheet metal. What I failed to find was any information on the AC unit that was just installed. No paperwork, no receipt. Like they were never here. I did call and tell Mike about all of this. I find it interesting that after both the guy diagnosed it and the guy came out for a quote, I was emailed a survey on their performance. I never got an email on the performance of the install and that says everything I need to know about the company. read more

I have used PK Wadsworth for almost 30 years at two homes. We spent quite a bit of money with them and within the last 5 years I have seen a big change not for the better. They replaced a central air conditioning unit and two years later it had to be completely rebuilt. It was their brand. Just about every year since it fails to function when the weather gets hot and that is after we have yearly service checks. I now question the products they install and the competency of their service technicians. I recently called for service because, once again, the unit is not working. Was told by 3 different individuals on the phone they were coming. NO ONE came and I didn't even receive a call to say they weren't going to make it. I called two more times and could not get through to anyone except an answering service. I don't know what is going on, but the company I used for many years is not the same quality it used to be. I called this company to come out and look at my central air unit, I was told it would be a 90 dollar service fee. but they would give me a voucher for 25 dollars off my service fee bring it down to 65 dollars, well that didn't happen. On top of that, I was charged $234.00 dollars for a capacitor that only cost anywhere between $3.00 dollars up to $35.00 dollars for that part look it up for yourself. My total came to $324.00 dollars. and forget labor cost they are hourly paid. read more

PK Wadsworth has done a great job maintaining all of our systems, and very responsive whenever we have an issue with one of them.

Unfortunately, I can't give PK Wadsworth a good rating. I was hugely disappointed when their technician diagnosed 2 of my air conditioners, one they fixed for $1,000 and the other he said would cost $3,000, because the coil was bad and it required 8lbs of refrigerant. We then had one of their sales people come in to quote us a new unit, which was $4,200. We decided to get a second quote from another local AC company. He came in and looked at the unit and said that nothing was wrong with the coil and that we only lost 1.5 lbs of refrigerant, which he replaced at no charge. Total cost to repair: $132. This experience left a bad feeling about PK Wadworth's business practices and I will never recommend them to anyone. read more

We've used P.K. Wadsworth for a couple of years for clean-and-checks. They came out this year and told us our compressor was about to break, plus we needed a chemical cleaning of the outside of our a/c and a bacterial cleaning of the inside. Would cost nearly $4000. Since the unit was 12 years old, they suggested we consider just replacing it. After some run-around, the estimator finally came out and and gave us estimates for two options, around $6,500-$7000. We decided to get another couple of estimates, and when I explained what we were told to a local company (the owner came out), he said "that doesn't sound right". He asked if he could get his tools and take a look at the unit. After checking it out, he told us there was nothing wrong with the compressor and we could clean the outside with a hose. He did note a couple of things that had been screwed up in prior years (left the caps off the refrigerant valve, put the wrong capacitor(?) in) and said we should top off the refrigerant. Should cost about $250. Looks like we have a new HVAC company. read more
