The printed materials provided sufficient information to make this huge investment. The sales rep, Stephanie was amazing and called us every week and sent photos throughout the entire build process. Our home has had a few minor issues since we've moved in, which is likely to happen with a new build. These homes are built fast and poorly. They have a 1 year VERY limited warranty and a 10 year even MORE limited warranty. Apparently, installing cabinets into studs is not considered important and when they start falling off the wall in less than 5  years, Pacesetter, Prohome, and Maverick will all tell you this is part of "normal homeowner maintenance". I've lived in homes much older than this and with much heavier things in the cabinets and I've NEVER seen cabinets separating from the wall this much. Even in places that clearly had foundation issues, the cabinets were still in the wall because THEY WERE INSTALLED IN THE STUDS. Our foundation has been checked a couple of times and any shifting is well within normal range and is NOT the cause of the cabinets falling out of the wall. Several other Pacesetter homes in this neighborhood have had this same issue and also experienced battling with Pacesetter, Prohome, and Maverick for MONTHS before they finally gave up and paid someone else to come fix the cabinets. The repair person stated that the cabinets were NOT installed correctly and that's why they were separating from the wall. I should not have to pay to fix this as this is not "normal wear and tear" on the home. This is do to POOR and IMPROPER installation. I'm constantly worried about the cabinet falling off and hurting someone or my animals as well as creating thousands of dollars worth of damage. I've talked to the Whisper Valley Pacesetter super who said this is a very easy fix. Unfortunately I'm having to come on here and blast Pacesetter, Prohome, and Maverick on social media because getting nasty is the only way to get them to take responsibility for anything. They truly don't care about quality, so if you buy a Pacesetter home, just be prepared to have to fight with them for MONTHS or YEARS to correct things that are a problem because they are just doing quick cheap work. "Our intent has always been to build you a home that is in accordance with the design and quality standards outlined in the Purchase Agreement..." That is part of the last message I'd received from them after deciding that it would be better for me to lose 15 months and $15K than to spend $400K+ on a home that I simply did not trust. So why was I so willing to lose all of that time and money? 1. This company cuts too many corners (literally and figuratively) for my liking. My suspicions really started to kick into high gear when I saw the frame and how badly it was constructed, including the materials used. This company uses finger-jointed boards (photos provided) and, as I've since learned, these are A LOT cheaper than typical straight boards. While they may be structurally sound, one of the drawbacks to using these is that the walls in the home may not be straight. Again: the walls in the home may. not. be. straight. And on that note... 2. During my final walkthrough with their team, I pointed out that 5 walls are indeed -- shocker -- not straight. So unless convex and concave walls are a new design feature that I'm not aware of, then something (and not just the walls) went seriously awry. The kicker came when, during that final walkthrough meeting, I was informed one wall "...can't be straightened" due to my crazy decision to have a water softening loop installed. I know: silly me. (Side note: at the conclusion of that conversation I was told that -- no lie -- the walls in their model homes, "...probably aren't straight, either." Ummmm...that's not a flex, my guy. Was that really supposed to make things better? You'd basically just admitted to me that ALL of your work is sub-par. Yay?) (Side note to the side note: you've gotta love it when a company tries to gaslight you into thinking shoddy work is somehow "perfectly fine" and that you're the crazy one for expecting the walls in your BRAND NEW home to actually be straight...) 3. The crews they hire are butchers. Every single time I went to check on the progress of the house I'd wind up coming across something that was, either, measured wrong, cut wrong, or quite probably both. Every single time I'd pointed this out to my salesman I was told that they'd "fix it". I'd honestly heard those two words so often that I'm convinced that they should just print them on the back of their business cards. From the cabinets, to the walls, to the electrical outlets, to the garage door, to the leak that flooded a wall, their crews are incredibly adept at haphazardly throwing your house together in ways that are incredibly problematic. But hey, good news because: "We'll fix it" And, mind you, many "fixes" often involved simply applying caulk (photo provided), presumably so they can stay in compliance with the contract. (See issue #1.) 4. The leak. I was TWO WEEKS away from closing when, during one of my many (MANY!) checks, I walked into the home to discover that there was standing water on the 2nd floor balcony and it was draining into the wall below. And into the garage. They've been persistent with the idea that one of their crew members accidentally cut into the weatherproofing (see #3), and I'll just have to take their word for it. That leak was my proverbial last straw... ("We'll fix it!") So if these are "...in accordance with the design and quality standards [as] outlined in the Purchase Agreement..." then I'm 100% convinced that I was right in cutting my losses. I'll never do business with this company again, nor will I even consider buying a home built by them. The staff are friendly, HOWEVER, build quality is NOT quality. Furthermore, ANYTHING that goes wrong that you reach out to Prohome, their warranty company, will be dismissed or dragged out until your warranty expires. I have had cooling issues in my house since the initial walk through (almost 2 yrs ago) and have been going back and forth with them since then. I have finally given up and am just spending my money to fix the issue. Being a disabled veteran on a fixed income doesn't help this. Well here is the problem I had with the house. I have been in this house for almost 2 years now with little to no resolution to the problem that I originally reported within 60 days of closing and moving into this home. I was paying $300 or more on electric from June-Sept in 2021 and $300 or more from May-Sept in 2022 (that is $2700 just on electric) for a 1400SqFt house. That is WAY more than I should have had to have paid because of substandard craftsmanship, lack of help to fix this issue from ProHome and quite frankly as far as I can tell, a fraudulent inspection. So, I contacted a heating/cooling company that came through and did a full energy audit on the house, last week. Pacesetter claimed it passed inspection for insulation and they specifically showed me 4-5 places in the attic where the insulation was literally 50% what it should be in depth, or rather BELOW code. They also showed me multiple ducting connections to the ceiling where it wasn't sealed properly at all, so much so, they could just lift the ducting right off the vent inside the house. Austin Air (company that Prohome, warranty company had come out with every report, 8 times in total) actually vocally recommended that I should probably have the insulation of the house looked at during the last visit. Which is why I did this. However, they said they wouldn't put it on their report because their job was AC not insulation. I specifically called out that heat from the attic was (in my opinion) bleeding into the house. Which the heating/cooling audit proved to be true. At this point I am having to spend thousands of dollars to fix the failure in quality that Pacesetter set, and the failure of the inspector as well. All this was confirmed by contacting a heating/cooling company, having them come to my house and setting up the work date and corrective actions (ALL WITHIN 1 WEEK). I have been pleading with Prohome and Pacesetter for 2 years to help me, with little to no resolve. I have learned a lot from this experience I will say. This was my second home I had built for me, the first one had little to no issues at all with it so I never had to deal with this. This home has had the persistent issue of NOT being able to cool the house SINCE DAY ONE. The builder commented to me in person, only 90 days after closing, that they didn't have an issue cooling the house when they did their checks. DO NOT BUY A PACESETTER HOME. I've had nothing but problems since day 1 of moving into a brand new build. They messed up the electrical wiring behind the walls so I'm not able to run wires behind the tv... They left a hole under the cabinet where my cat was able to climb in and had to call the fire department after he got trapped in there. There are nails under the carpet in the master bedroom... They put a nail through one of the water pipes during building and one day I came home to a flooded bathroom. They tore the walls down to the studs and it's taking MONTHS to fix. The walls were at 99.9% moisture with mold growing for a week and they told me "this isn't an emergency... we'll get back to you" the builder isn't answering the phone anymore and I'm stuck with a ruined house. 0/10 do not recommend, think again before you waste your hard earned money on this garbage. read more

Horrible experience. When it comes to the home and the warranties, good luck getting anything fixed. I've fought tooth and nail for multiple things that have gone wrong in my home in Sorento. When I first moved in, there was permanent marker written on my white backsplash for alignment. They stated they would fix it, but when I closed because it wasn't in the closing notes they refused. After battling it, they finally fixed it. Then, the painters poured white paint into my black sink. Same thing.. they said it would come out or the warranty ProHomes would fix it. Neither will fix it! Now I have white marks all over my black sink that can't be removed due to the stone of the sink Then when I walked my home, my yard was flooded due to "overwatering the sod to help it settle" so I never got to walk my yard cause it was flooded. A year later, my yard is still flooding. Trying to submit a claim to prohomes and the same things happening! Deny and blame.. I have proof from a 3rd party inspector showing this was an issue before moving in and no one will take responsibility on fixing this. Do yourself a favor, buy elsewhere. Not in Sorento. The builder sent out an engineer to re-inspect and this engineer told me that the issue is due to not watering evenly. Ok, if that's the case, why don't my neighbors have these issues because their side yards get the same amount as mine. This gentleman also told me that the " crack spanning the width of my home is 'not that bad' and if I even out the watering, it'll be fine. He took (maybe) 3 photos and was not paying attention when I was pointing out the damages to my walls, siding, floors, and doors that no longer close. Finally, he told me to 'fill the crack with caulking' and did not recommend doing a foundation repair because it won't help the situation. Where do they find these people? I am not an engineer but anyone in their right mind can understand that it's just insane to fill an " crack with caulking and water the yard hoping that it'll just magically repair itself. It's just another example of how this builder and their warranty company will do and say anything to shift blame and minimize their responsibility. The damages continue to get worse. My wife and I incurred $8000 of damage to our home in the Saddle Creek, Georgetown community within 48 hours after closing due to a misplaced, unprotected pex line (high pressure plumbing pipe) installed by Pacesetter. We were given two non-functioning numbers for the warranty company to call in the event of an emergency. After seven days of attempting to contact Pacesetter to resolve the issue, we were laughed at and told "you got unlucky". If you are looking for a builder that will communicate effectively, perform a satisfactory job of construction and act with integrity when faced with their wrongdoing, build with anyone besides Pacesetter. Our realtor is already turning potential clients away from Pacesetter because of how my wife and I have been treated by their sales representatives and project managers. During building, we made it abundantly clear that we would like a 3rd party inspector for the pre-drywall components of our home, a precaution that could have prevented the damage all-together. We were assured by our sales representative, Amber Rees, and pre-drywall project manager, Dan Schoenfeldt, that we would be told when that opportunity would arise and when we could send an inspector out. Unfortunately, that communication never occurred from Pacesetter and we were denied a 3rd party pre-drywall inspector The damage occurred when anchoring a 1" screw into a wall stud, something every homeowner should be able to do without fear of hitting plumbing. Unfortunately, Pacesetter's shoddy craftsmanship allowed the pex line to be "pinned" between the drywall and wall stud and the line immediately shot pressurized hot water into our home. We were lucky that nobody was seriously burned/injured. Multiple people within the profession of homebuilding have seen photos of the pipe placement and provided written testimony of the negligent placement of the pex line. Upon removal of the drywall in the water damaged areas, we found several more places where pex line is not properly secured away from the drywall. I have absolutely no faith in the craftsmanship and reliability of the plumbing and installation of the pre-drywall components conducted by Pacesetter and Dan Schoenfeldt and Jason Cearley (project managers) Over a week after the damage occurred, Pacesetter's construction manager of North Austin, Patrick Durbin came by my home to see the damage. I showed him the damaged pipe and areas of the home where pex line was improperly installed. He adamantly denied any wrongdoing on behalf of Pacesetter and insisted I was just "unlucky". His visit was entirely unhelpful, slightly insulting, and only wasted time in perusing a resolution. Do not build with Pacesetter homes under any circumstances. Pacesetter will rush their construction to close on your home, perform shoddy work, refuse to allow proper inspections to take place, then laugh in your face when your home is damaged as a result of their negligent craftsmanship. read more

Update: more issues have come up since the last time I wrote this review. The HVAC system stopped working and the heat wouldn't work because the fan was installed too close to the hose ended up cutting the hose leaving me without heat on a 30° day while I was ill. Secondly I discovered a leak coming from the vent in my spare bedroom and pro home the warranty company is super shitty customer service. It took them over three weeks to send somebody out to look at a leak that is been collecting in my ceiling and now I have to have a plumber come fix it as well as drywall repair people and then the painters to come fix the rest of it this is still not resolved I would never buy a Home from Pacesetter ever again. Just bought a home as a first time home buyer. PaceSetter decided to fire a bunch of construction managers in the middle of my build. At walkthrough there were over 30 items to fix including: sod not properly watered (literally put it down and watered for only a few days, thanks for the dead grass), cracked kitchen cabinets, no screens on doors or windows, sloppy paint and trim jobs, gate installed on wrong side of fence, about 20 fence planks needing to be replaced due to being cracked or rotted, drafty window installation etc etc. There was only 1 week between walkthrough and close - I believe this was done purposely for their benefit. They fixed some of the items to their workmanship standards, which are low. Been moved in about 30 days and there are still items to fix. They wanted to close at end of month to their benefit rather than holding up their end of the contract to provide quality and accurate workmanship that I just dropped $275k on. My advice, make sure you follow the construction process like a hawk, make frequent in person check in's and schedule walkthrough at least 2-3 weeks before close, and refuse to close if the items are not completed. read more

Seeing your new construction home when it is complete should be a joyful experience. Instead I found myself pouring over my contracts in tears this week after seeing pictures of my new home. I close in 2 weeks and feel a dreadful march as the day draws near. The changes that were made to my house from the pictures/models were drastic and unsympathetic. I am not someone who picks at aesthetic details or cares much for appearance. I am speaking to a house that was fundamentally different than the house I expected to be built. I feel taken advantage of. I cannot in good conscience recommend a builder who states that they cannot be held to their architectural diagrams as they are considered marketing material. The idea that a builder is using advertisements to construct a house is grossly negligent. I know that this review will be meaningless given the housing market right now. My hope is that one day this won't be the case and Pacesetter's poor reputation from these reviews will help future buyers make a different choice. read more

I bought a Pacesetter home over a year ago. During our final walkthrough there were several things that needed to be touched up, they said they would have them done within 60 days. That was their 1st lie, took them almost a year to complete the touch up painting, nail pops and such. We should have walked away we we first noticed that the sales rep, who was supposed to keep us informed as to the build of our house, would never contact us unless we contacted them first. We had to file a claim on several issues with warranty work in the house, it took them 40 days to complete most of those, but 1 issue that is outstanding and the most detrimental to our health is the main bath shower that was not properly sealed and now water leaks behind the tile and black mold is growing. We have reached out to them more than once, twice and never have we received a call back from management. I have posted comments on their Facebook pages, but they have blocked me for leaving negative reviews. Stay far away from Pacesetter as you can. read more

I purchased a Pacesetter home in Whisper Valley, a public-private venture between the developer (Taurus) and the City of Austin. It has turned out to be one of my largest regrets due to the poor construction quality. Pacesetter lied to get through closing and is not fixing problems it should fix. Examples: 1) Concrete issues, including the walkway from the carport to the back door, the back porch, the driveway, and the foundation on the back part of the house. The ground is sinking in around my house. The concrete is already crumbling, and getting worse. 2) Badly damaged carport. It was leaning towards the adjacent carport. Now it is in direct contact and getting worse. The ground around the carport is sinking in. The water is not draining and some type of algae is growing. 3) Water is collecting in the horizontal sliding window. The contractor claims this is normal and refuses to fix it. This is not normal. 4) Doors had knots and rough patches, and were warped and/or poorly painted. There were missing door stops and catches, and rusted hardware. Some of the door frames were so damaged that they tried to hide it with putty. 5) Pacesetter didn't properly install and protect the Google Fiber conduit. It was not considered a priority so I had no TV or Internet. I was finally able to get it expedited but it shouldn't have been a problem in the first place. 6) I have been overrun by insects and pests. Spiders crawl all over my car. The exterior doors are not properly sealed so lots of bugs get into my home. One of my neighbors even found a rodent in her toilet. 7) Toilet paper holders fall off the cabinets and we have been hit in the head by falling shower rods. The exterior vents are constantly clanging. I was told by ProHome to buy and install new vents because what Pacesetter installs is cheap. 8) There are no lights on the back of my house. The ground is uneven and Pacesetter just threw sod on top of it and called it finish grade. This is a safety hazard for walking and encourages crime. Pacesetter and ProHome said I have to pay an electrician to provide wiring on a BRAND NEW home for an HOA-approved exterior light so I can see to safely get from my parked car into my house. REALLY? 9) There is no gate from the front yard to the back. Service people have to either trudge through my house or drive around the block. 10) I have to either buy HOA-approved trash cubbies and somehow get them to my house or put the trash/recycling cans in my back yard where they kill the grass, block the sprinklers, take up valuable real estate, and invite pests to my property. Plus I have to step in mud to fill and move the cans. Why couldn't they build bins into the exterior side of the fence? 11) The sprinkler system is not properly calibrated and they haven't shown me how it works or labelled the zones. One of the heads is buried under sod. No one can find it. 12) The trash/recycling service (Republic) overcharged every home owner and provides lousy services. 13) The alley is improperly graded and standing water breeds mosquitoes and other things, including algae. 14) The builder never called in the final inspection for my photovoltaic panels. I asked for a specific day and time for the inspection. I was told someone would get in touch with me but to date no one has. 15) The HOA is completely run by the developer with token resident input. 16) Pacesetter construction workers sometimes blare loud music, and do construction before 7:00 a.m. and continue after 7:00 p.m. I even saw them working on roof framing in the dark, using cell phone lights. It's no wonder the construction quality is so shoddy. 17) My back gate does not properly function, and the gate of the house next to me is broken and bangs day and night. My neighbors and I are constantly finding new problems that are being ignored or minimized by Taurus, Pacesetter, and ProHome. The homes in this community by Pacesetter do not reflect the expected quality for the money being asked for them. Update: It has been one year since I purchased my Pacesetter home at Whisper Valley. Short version of this review: I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THIS BUILDER TO ANYONE. Our experience with this builder has been more than frustrating, its been Hellish. We fell in love with a new neighborhood so we were stuck with only 2 options for our builders and saddly picked the wrong one. Most of our issues they have blamed to the type of soil but apparently the other builder did their homework and avoided them. We have had issues with * The A/C unit: connected backwards so 1st floor would use the heater meanwhile the 2nd floor would blow cool air. * Concrete: front and backporch slab has shifted up * Plumbing: plumbing going up braking bathtub and shower, cracks on the pipes and under the foundation. * Fences in violation of the HOA guidelines and took over 6 months to repair And the list goes on. My bigggest problems with Pacesetter are their lack of accountability and their "Warranty" service. They hire cheap labor to do these jobs and most of the times dont even schedule with us, the owners, They just show up. For one of the issues we had to request them to fix the tile work 3 times becouse they kept leaving spaces between the tile and the wall which would cause them to break. Apparently when they cut a hole on the side of your house to repair the plumbing they are not obligated to paint over with the same color so you are left with checkered exterior wall. If we were the only with the Issue I would say we were dealt a bad hand in the gamble of life, but no our house isnt even the one with the biggest problems so I would really advise anyone to do their research and stay away from Pacesetters. read more

The Heatpump failed after a little over 5 years, out of pocket 3500. This has been happening on many of the Pacesetter homes that were built in our area. In our case, there was a recall, but it expired after 5 years and ours failed after 5 years and 4 months. Found out after I signed off on the house that there was supposed to be a door on the water heater space Superintendent Denny knew better, but never mentioned it External caulking was horrible, causing water infiltration into the window trim. We have already replaced the trim on 3 of our windows. We still have a persistent leak that no one can find in the back. The house was a good deal at the time, that is about all I can say I will never do business with these folks again read more

It's without a doubt that Austin has become a hot market and sellers are getting flooded with buyers. With that being said, my significant other and I were finding that we weren't getting the attention that one would expect when shopping around between builders. This trend changed when we were greeted by Alisha. Prior to our appointment, she sent us a personal greeting video to introduce herself and during the appointment she was friendly, went the extra mile where needed and most importantly, did not make it feel like a transactional meeting. Throughout the process, she was quick to answer all of our questions through all lines of communication and provided pictures when we had trouble visualizing things. Update: Pacesetter did not honor the price that they quoted us, so we walked. At Whisper Valley there is a required Eco package for solar panels and geo-thermal heating. Well, they told us that it was in the price already. I contacted the main office, and they said that they would not honor it. We met some others that experienced the same thing. Last we checked, Pacesetter had a bunch of For Sale signs, and nothing looked like it was being built. We are now in the process of building with an ethical company. read more

Overall the customer service of Pacesetters has been very unsatisfactory and has even felt slightly underhanded. We were promised items in our house and didn't receive them and we were supposed to be able to choose where our garage was located but we were never informed and now have to deal with a split backyard. This rating is related to our home buying experience at the Parks at Legacy community. Terrible home builder and I have never in my life had a worst buying experience than here. They increased the price of the home two times with in a week saying they forgot to add some cost in their pricing, after we told them that we liked the house and wanted to close the deal. Roger, the sales man there doesn't know a thing about customer service and literally has no value to his word. Also, beware they bump up the price of the home and offer you free appliances. I'm so glad that I didn't buy the house here, I strongly recommend others to be extremely careful dealing with this builder. Also please check their better business bureau ratings, it speaks volumes about their quality. read more

Pacesetter has exceeded all my expectations I had for a builder. I was a very nervous first time home buyer and they held my hand through the whole process. I've been in my home for 7 months now and they still keep in touch to make sure I am happy with everything. They did a great job with my house and I only had small items come up during my inspection. They really seem to care about the community that lives in the neighborhood they built and I don't think that is the case with most builders. read more

I live in a Milestone Home in the Vistas of Austin right by a Pacesetter Home being built. Milestone has finished all the construction for the first section and is out of the way but Pacesetter has not and I got a nail in my tire from all the nails the construction guys leave behind. I see multiple nails all along my drive way every day and on the street! I had to buy a whole new tire for my new car I just bought. I tried calling Pacesetter and all they did was disconnect my call!!! read more

This is in part a combo review, inclusive of some issues that effected us indirectly. A friend referred us to the Bell Farms development in Manor. She really sold us on the whole idea. We were NOT house shopping at the time. The floor plan & price sealed the deal. That first day we told the salesmen that SHE was the reason we were there. He said she would get a referral payment of $250, once we were in & in good standing with mortgage for 3 mos. About 6+ mos in, after many calls to the same guys, she told me there was a form I needed to fill out for her to get the $. It had never been presented to me. I filled it out that day. It's been over a year and she STILL has not received her $. And we're not the only successful referral she made. She gets all kinds of stories & excuses, but no $. Bait & switch is the technical term. On our part, it's a mixed bag. Pacesetter/Qualico throw in a lot of extras for the price. The quality of construction etc is uneven. Almost everything is subcontracted, with multiple homes being built at once. Usually in a rush. So far no huge issues. I strongly recommend hiring a professional home inspector for the final warranty claims process. If the salesmen & construction supervisor like you they will repair items not even covered by warranty (based on another neighbor's experience). After a tiff over roofing issues early on, we are no longer liked. Their preferred mortgage lender, Service First, was also uneven. Using them made some things smoother, but we didn't get the best loan deal, I later discovered. Also, I can't prove it but they may have mishandled our financial & personal info. Both we & my friend referenced above have had identify theft issues since getting our loans. Weird stuff we were told: Builders dirt has special properties that help stuff grow. Actually it is a mix of clay & sand. Period. Only 10 or 11 feed was sodded so it's a sticky mud pit after rain. The lot behind us is city property so it will never be developed. Part of it is. We've met the owner of the acre directly behind us. He wants to sell & it could be rezoned to anything - commercial, residential, etc. Praying a convenience store doesn't get built there. All builders have pros & cons. I'm ticked about my friend getting lied to & cheated so this review is leaning toward the cons. read more

They make beautiful cardboard boxes. I bought a brand new home (model). Just weeks later we discovered several leaks in the ceiling. After consulting roofing professionals, the verdict is that this is a structural issue from initial build. After many months of trying to get Pacesetter to stand by their workmanship, they've finally refused. It's a $990 repair. I guess they'd rather be known for crappy construction. read more

I moved into a condo in Chaparral Crossing. Two years into the new house I found out the a/c unit is a 1/2 ton too small, the ducts weren't properly insulated and the fan in the attic was missing required insulation too. As a result it struggled to cool below 76° during the day, caused considerable condinsation and mold.They did disclose that a dirt excavation site was nearby but failed to disclose that it had bought property adjacent to my home. I'm on a corner lot so my balcony would overlook the new site. They used a very cheap paint. It wipes off the walls if it's touched by something wet. Also the oven and the microwave have already started showing signs of needing repairs. Needless to say my husband and I are trying to sell this peace of crap. read more

The delays due to logistics, the labor shortages, the building boom in Austin, the OTHER supply chain and manufacturing issues...it was a total bitch. I have been in real estate for 30 years. I have even closed with Pacesetter in the past. The experience my clients and I had at Whisper Valley (Alisha/sales & Trey/superintendent) was phenomenal. Was it perfect...what new construction or deal is? They were always supportive and professional. I actually felt good and looked forward meeting with them. They have a 3rd party process for the walk through that was a first for me and wonderful. No worry about butting heads between superintendent and buyers. So comforting, accommodating and no...they didn't agree to everything, but explained it well and respectfully. Not to mention, this neighborhood is cutting edge earth friendly! Purchased a small home form Pacesetter Home in June 2015. The floors are stained concrete which were beautiful at purchase. Two years in the concrete started wicking liquids through the foundation and depositing droplets which would dry, harden, and severely etch the concrete itself. The condition is called Efflorescence". Unfortunately Pacesetters buried a release from liability in the closing papers which I unwittingly signed. Too bad for me. To make matters worse Pacesetter corrected two similar issues with my neighbors across the street. Pacesetter installed laminate flooring in one house, and tile plus carpet in the other, at NO expense to the home owner. Initially two Pacesetter managers/supervisors denied any knowledge of the repairs even though both had supervised the installation. One of the Pacesetter Vice Presidents, Mr. Lee Whitaker decided to support his dishonest employees and denied any relief for my problem. Now I am faced with having to install a floor because of substandard construction practices by Pacesetter Home, Pflugerville, Texas. read more

Take the advice of the majority of other reviews because I didn't. I would give zero stars if I could for this review, I'm that unhappy with my purchase. I don't do reviews, but felt compelled enough to create an account to warn others and confirm previous reviews. I recently moved into the San Marcos PaceSetter Blanco Vista homes and encountered the same issues as previous posts. The builder takes every shortcut imaginable and the Prohome Warranty takes a minimum of 2 weeks to get someone out to address the issue, and that's if they don't reschedule. The companies that come out to do repairs like to say they showed up, but no one was home. Yet when I'm waiting and I receive no phone calls or a knock on my door. A recent repair order, I waited all day and called ProHome, but they forgot to confirm the appointment with the repair company. So again the issue could not be addressed and the appointment had to again be rescheduled. With the home itself: the sod is poorly laid and the ground is obviously not treated, so there is so much clay and debris that it already has started to die. Plumbing issues, and a leak in the first week of moving in. Tile and laminate wood flooring is uneven and crooked in spots. One of my kitchen cabinet doors has fallen off. The head contractor, Art, is standoffish, overconfident, and did the walk through with little concern. Every spot that was not addressed from the first walk through was scrutinized and down played. You have to be your own advocate and go through everything with a fine tooth comb even then it's promise of making it right is over looked by Art and Paula. The sales agent, Paula, will seem great at the start, but during the process and afterwards demonstrate her true colors. She is passive aggressive and will make you feel that every question or something that you are checking-in on is an inconvenience or a bother, especially as you get close to closing. Moving in though you truly see that this is definitely a starter home and not permanent. The walls are thin, the paint and texture are poorly applied (I wiped a mark on my wall with a wet cloth and the paint and texture wiped off). During the last storm we saw a newly completed house with it's fence blown down. Stay away from this builder and it's sales agents unless you want a temporary home only and enjoy throwing your money away. We went with the builder because Pacesetter was the cheapest in the community, but we definitely learned that we got what we paid for. With every new Pacesetter resident that we see move in, I feel sorry for them. read more
