I did a lot of research on artificial turf companies servicing the Brushy Creek area and after some shopping around, came across Umesh and KG Lawn Care. After receiving some ridiculous quotes from some of the "bigger" artificial turf companies, offering a lower grade of turf for a substantially higher price, I went forward with the project with Umesh and KG Lawn Care. Umesh took on my project of installing approximately 1000 sqft of artificial turf, metal edging, and black star gravel around some cypress trees. Roughly a month before starting, I expressed to Umesh my desire to have the project completed in time for our family's annual crawfish boil, which he assured me he would fulfill. I can't say enough positive things about Umesh, Lucas, and their crew. As we neared the date of my family's party, Umesh assured me that he would push to make the deadline, even with unpredictable central Texas weather. Umesh not only kept to his promise in finishing the project in time for our party, but also knocked it out of the park! The artificial turf looks incredible and instantly became my daughter's favorite place to play. Umesh and his crew put a level of detail into the project in ensuring every aspect was perfect for my family. As pleased as I am with the project itself, the most noteworthy aspect I want to highlight in this review is how Umesh does business. In a world where so many are looking to cut corners, charge more, and provide less, I found that Umesh is a man of immense integrity who keeps to his word. Umesh delivered on his promise to ensure my yard was immaculate for my family's party, but most notably, his promise on pricing. A day before our turf was set to be installed, Umesh was notified by the turf company that the turf we picked out was no longer available (with zero warning). Umesh was forced to upgrade the turf at a difference of nearly $800. I offered to split the difference with Umesh but was told: "Nah man, it's all good. I like to keep my word and pricing. It's not your fault." This really struck me that Umesh was willing to eat $800 in order to keep his word with me on pricing. KG Lawn Care exceeded my expectations and truly helped me complete my dream back yard - The quality of work and character of Umesh will have me recommending him and his company to all my family and friends!

We met in late May and agreed on a price. He claimed he would use a sod cutter to remove 2 inches…read moreof old sod and soil before rototilling and adding blend of topsoil and leveling the lawn grade. He would then lay down the sod, water and roll the sod. He was also installing 3 drip lines under the sod in the front strip or grass. He charged me to raise all my sprinklers and promised to test, flush and replace the sprinkler heads to assure it was working well. He skipped most of the steps. He had some guys use a pick and shovel to remove an inch of sod and soil. They never tilled the soil and only spread about an inch of topsoil over hard clay and rock before setting the sod on top. They did not roll it or leveling it. There are high and low spots throughout. They only raised 2 sprinkles and changed two heads. Two pallets worth of sod was dead clearly dead by July 15th despite me watering 3x a day and hand watering the front strip of grass for 4 hours a day that relied on drip lines they installed. He complained that the sod company was not warranting the sod. They sent him a message pointing out that due to the high heat, soil prep and consistent watering required they could not take responsibility. They clearly worked with him before. The prep and install were horrible. I say him when he gave me a quote and 3 days after install when I demanded we walk the job because the grass was dying and he missed about 8 feet on the side of my house. He had only reached out for the rest of the money. When we walked it, he had a worker pull all the weeds from the strip along my fence and nothing else. I paid him for sod and drip lines all along the side of my house. He blamed his workers stated all they do is drink and lie. They tell him they know how to do work but rarely do. He then assured me that he would replace the grass that was dying next week. He did not. He always had an excuse. Every week it was pushed out to the following week. I shouldn't have paid him until he finished the job he took 6 weeks to replace some of the dead grass. If a piece of sod had 25% of it with green grass they left it. He patched my lawn on Aug 19th. It was 99 degrees and has been over 100 everyday since. Now I'm back out there 3-4 hours a day hand watering because he couldn't do the job correctly and on time. This job should have been done June 15th. Don't trust this guy. My neighbor had it done correctly and within 3 weeks you couldn't tell it was new. Mine is over 2 months old and covered in dead sod spots and new sod pieces.

I felt it was important I updated my review as a lot has happened to the deck in the 3 years since…read morethey put it in. Though the deck looked good initially in just 3 years it is rotting away and we just now realized to what extent. It got in such a bad state we decided to have someone redo the whole deck. When they took off the top boards the frame itself had half rotted away (including the whole frame for the steps) and we realized it could have caved under us at any time. In the attached picture you will see the current state of the frame. Half of it has rotted away. We initially used them because they were the best price and they did work fast and were flexible to our requests. However, the tradeoff seems to be they used poor material. It was either not pressure treated or leftover material they got from a building being constructed that isn't meant to be used for a deck. I can't confirm but regardless proper material shouldn't rot like this in just 3 years. I write this to warn you to make sure they are not skimping on the materials as this can become a safety hazard.

They did a great job with my sod installment but a terrible one with my irrigation repairs. Took them three weeks to finally come out and at least attempt the irrigation repairs, after failing to come out on previously scheduled time slots. Using said bad quote they wormed their way out of finishing the installation repairs. Upon inspecting their halfway completed work, it seems that while he was trying to repair the line, he damaged the main water line with one of his cutting tools. What was a fairly minor leak, now became a main line fix. This of course would require even more work and they wanted to quote me for more money. I fired them right away and decided to bring in one of their competitors. Buyer beware of this company if you plan to do any irrigation work with them. Only reason they get two stars is because the sod installation was well done. Update: See below owners response. This is what you will get if you deal with these guys.. gaslighting. They made all the mistakes, from the bad quotes to the accidental line cut. They damaged my line, not a root. Instead of fixing his mistake, they wanted to charge me. As you can see, roots are not as bad of a problem as they claimed. Like I said earlier, buyer beware. If the owner is doing this, best believe it's the culture at this company. We had intended to have it trimmed for quite some time, but life kept getting in the way and we knew the job would produce far more branches and debris than we could possibly haul away ourselves. We hired Malaga, owner of Arlo Tree Service and Landscaping, and we could not be happier with the experience. His quote was competitive and very fair, and his communication was prompt, clear, professional, and friendly from beginning to end. Malaga and his team raised the crown and opened the canopy beautifully. The tree looks healthier, the front of the house feels brighter and more open, and the pesky Bermuda under the tree will now grow better. They also left the yard completely clean, blew the driveway and front portico, and hauled away every bit of debris. Malaga cane out on a Sunday and sent a link to a written estimate the same day. Once we agreed to the estimate, we were able to get the work done in a matter of days. Although we didn't get any competing estimates, we felt the quote to be reasonable. Malaga takes pride in his work, and did a really nice job shaping our bushes and trees, and thinning out the live oaks. The transformation of our yard was so nice. I highly recommend Malaga for this type of work. He also does other types of work in the garden, like mulching.
