I used to go to O.J.'s auctions for years starting when he bought it from Gus Pacific. It used to be a day of entertainment and fun to watch OJ work his unique humor and magic with an auction crowd. Unfortunately, gone are those days and it's just another business that has gone by the wayside. It also has joined the ranks of businesses that used to be great but is best to bypass now. You can call and make sure someone will be there to take your consignment. Then drive and hour + to get there only to be told by the receptionist that neither of the 2 men that could except the items are there. "Can you contact them?" No, they are not answering the phones. Enough said. It's probably a blessing they were not there after reading the other Reviews on Yelp about them... You have been warned !! read more

I can save you a big headache. Big promises, extremely short on delivery. Claim a million person contact list but could not draw reasonable sales on real antiques. The hothead in charge is criticized by his own staff and flies off the handle without notice. Claims to have experts in all areas but no one knew that fabric is sold in bolts not rolls. Put merchandise of mine that had 2 parts in different lots and in some cases in lots containing merchandise owned by other consignors. Bottom line: lack of professionalism throughout the organization resulted in sales of less than 25% of what they reasonably should have been. Never again! read more

Pacific Auction helped my clear out a machine shop (in my basement) after my husband passed. No one else would deal with me on the machinery. Not exactly in manufacturing mode in this country anymore. Any way they made it so effortless on my part. Just stay out of their way, and they sorted, cataloged, and moved the machinery to their business site. I as desperate after a year of trying to do something with this machinery, and it was a daunting task (for me) to try to sort through all the pieces and figure out what it went to. with Pacific Auction, Lee and Mike came out and within 2 days it was done and gone. I had a basement again!! Lee and Mike were great about explaining what they were doing and what to expect. I was very hesitant about going with an auction company, cause I knew they would get a big chunk of the money, but it is so worth it cause I had no money with this machinery sitting in my basement. It was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, and although I didn't get as much as I hoped, it is still surprising the machinery sold. I couldn't be more pleased with Pacific Auction, Lee and Mike. If I had to do it over again I would in a heartbeat. My bid via Proxibid was not recognized by Pacific Auction and they awarded the item (firearm at their Nov 2016 Field and Stream Auction) to a live bidder. My bid was shown as "you won" by Proxibid and my credit card was charged for the bid amount. On driving to their site I was informed the item went to a buyer with a lower bid amount waisting my time and gas. No compensation and no apology were offered. Dr. D-- read more

I have attended many Pacific auctions on Main Street as well as their old location. I find them to be well organized and very helpful.

They sold stolen items that belonged to me. When contacted, the owner refused to cancel the auction and claimed he had the right to sell my property. Don't buy anything from them, it is probably stolen. read more

I thought if you spent a good portion of your life building a business that was considered reputable that your heirs would want to carry on your tradition. Such is not the case with Pacific Auction. If you can find any other auction house in town I would use it before even looking at Pacific Auction to sell your wares. They will send one or two of their "professionals" to your location and browse through your items. They will tell you that they have people back at the office that will know the value of your unique collections. They will tell you what will probably not bring in high bids and will put those items in their mass auction in another room. They will also tell you that they will advertise your auction on their website distribute fliers and place an advertisement in the surrounding papers. As your auction date approaches you check their website....nothing. So you call them, well, they are having computer problems. You check the newspapers.....nothing. So you call them, well they didn't make the deadline. It's all nothing. The auction date comes, the turnout is low and you watch as Pacific Auction gives your things away. Oh, they are also having a video auction on a screen at the front of the live auction and the distractions make for a confusing waste. Shop around and ask questions before you just settle. read more

I bid online for a lot listed as "Barbers Lot with Straight Razors" there was NOT A SINGLE STRAIGHT RAZOR in the lot!! I'm sure it was pocketed by someone else even though my payment SHOULD HAVE SECURED IT! I bid on it because I was bidding on straight razors. I was lied to and cheated! I will never do business with this company and HIGHLY discourage doing business with them to anyone else! Their only comment to me was "oh well" as the man walked away from me. They had an amazing auction of firearms this past weekend! They moved it along at a quick pace not trying to squeeze out the last dollar. Items were as described and they were honest and friendly. They even helped me out to my Tacoma with my purchases. A month or so ago, they sold an older BMW for me and I was quite pleased! read more

Consigned items. At the auction, some items were at a front auction. The other items were in a second auction in a dimly lit back room unknown to most attendees with very few bidders. Items were basically given away. My father was an auctioneer and my sister and I attended this auction and went home with sick stomachs. read more

I have been going for years and its always been great. Fast paced and you never know what you will find. I have found some amazing things over the years and found them to be very fair. In reading the complaint about internet bids. I know for one that they are in business to make money and work on a percentage basis. They would not sell and item to an in house bidder at a lower price as they would make more money with the internet bid. I have had a similar experience with online bidding as the negative review below and found it was usually caused by the online auction host Proxibid and its slow response time. I received a delayed bid placement and the item had already sold in house but the bid I had placed showed as the winning bid. Stuff happens sometimes. I asked the owner about the stolen item report and found out more, not only could the claimant not provide any proof of ownership but the entire auction and contents were ordered by the BATF and investors. They had no choice but to sell all the items and wound up taking the blame for a lot of things that were not in their control. They seemed to do the best they could under the circumstances they were placed in. read more
