A hurricane storm came on the same day of our wedding which we had to reschedule. Josh was not able to reschedule and did not refund any of our money. So now we're out $750. Also, communication from Josh's end leading up to our wedding was almost nonexistent. Josh took multiple days to respond to texts and sometimes never returned them only until we told our wedding coordinator about the lack of communication. read more

JOSH IS THE BEST!!!!! I knew that picking our wedding day photographer was the single most important decision we would make for our wedding, because we would carry those pictures with us forever as reminders of our special day. So I took special care when choosing Fletch and pored over sample albums from photographers all over the big island (and the rest of hawaii) to find the very best. Josh's images stood out: go see his website for yourself, the composition and framing and colors have true artistry that is head and shoulders above the competition. Come wedding day, Fletch did not disappoint, in fact they exceeded our wildest expectations. Josh came with a colleague so we had 2 camera folks on site. They were both SO kind and sweet, keeping us calm on our big day while also getting us in position for perfect lighting and shooting some stunning shots. The album download link came back earlier than expected, and we now have thousands and thousands of images, each more perfect and vivid than the next. We asked Fletch to adjust white balance on the b/w photos and they did that kindly for us which was a nice extra touch. Looking back through the photos, not only are they visually stunning but more importantly Fletch took LOTS of pictures of the bride and group, wedding party, and every single guest. Unlike some other photographers who take a billion pictures of the food/decor for their own portfolios, Fletch focuses on the PEOPLE, and there is so much heart and emotions in the photos that were captured on our big day. They were early - they recommended the location (A-Bay), the musican (which we didn't use) the time of day...everything. we got married in July which is the busy season for weddings in Hawaii - they told us we should have our pictures in 6 weeks and we got them in 5 1/2 weeks. Fletch photography was referred from one of my friends that is a chef at four seasons. My fiancée loves to take photos so I thought I surprise her and hire a professional photographer to capture the moment when I pop the big question. Josh was always very quick to respond with any questions I had and you could tell he genuinely loves what he does. I waited a couple of days for editing and my fiancée loved the pics that he captured. Long overdue amazing 5 star review for Fletch Photography! Josh was our photographer for our May 2nd, 2015 wedding at the Sheraton in Kona on the Big Island and everything was more than perfect. My review is going to sound similar to all the rest, but I can't help it--Fletch Photography is AMAZING. I planned my wedding at the Hilton Waikoloa Village in Hawaii a year and a half in advance. The first thing I looked into after booking the location was a photographer. On the top of the recommended vendors list my wedding planner gave me was Fletch Photography. I looked at their website and Facebook page and didn't need to look any further--I knew they were the ones! Josh and Miho scheduled me in 2013, over a year before the wedding date. I checked in with them closer to our wedding just to make sure everything was still scheduled. Of course it was! They were responsive in their emails to me, and I couldn't wait to meet them. Long story short, Josh and Miho far exceeded our expectations in every way. First, Miho helped me with my dress and went above and beyond her photography "duties." She was more like a friend than just a photographer! Josh, too, was funny and genuinely nice to be around. During our ceremony, my husband and I never saw them! Josh and Miho somehow captured our day without being obtuse. Finally...the pictures. WOW. Just wow. 1) They captured every little detail. I mean EVERY. little. detail. They took pictures I didn't even realize they were taking! Josh and Miho made my husband I feel very comfortable. In fact, my husband and I were caught up in the moment so much that quite a few of the pictures Josh and Miho captured were candid, natural, and really intimate moments. 2) The pictures are outstanding--the way Josh and Miho manipulated the lighting of the sunset behind us, etc. blew my mind! The editing, attention to detail, and sheer creativity of their photos are beautiful. 3) The pictures told a story. From start to finish, a person who wasn't at our wedding could definitely feel like they saw the whole ceremony, just by flipping through the photos! If you're in Hawaii, go with Fletch Photography. There really are no words to explain how talented, professional, and all around awesome Josh & Miho are but because I feel so strongly that they are worth every single cent you'll spend to work with them I wanted to share my experience in hopes that it will help soon to be brides check another (hugely important vendor) off their list. When selecting the various vendors for our wedding day the top three things I looked for were cost versus value (i.e. do I feel like we'd be getting our money's worth), level of communication and timeliness of follow up, and style (does execution of the service and finished product that the vendor provides match the look and feel of what we wanted from our wedding day). Without a doubt, Fletch Photography nailed all 3. It felt like I either cyber stalked or actually reached out to every wedding photographer on the Big Island. I found that, for the most part everyone (more specifically everyone that is well reviewed) has similar pricing for for the photography packages offered. This definitely did not help in deciding on a photographer but at minimum is safe to say that Fletch's pricing is on par with equally talented photographers. Cost vs value- check. From Miho's initial response to my first email I could tell that communication wouldn't be a problem. The turnaround time for response to numerous emails was never more than a day or two and the tone of each was always warm and friendly. Aside from the pre-wedding emails, the level of day of and post wedding communication was clear and consistent. On my wedding day I never felt like I had to explain or clarify anything with either Josh or Miho. I felt like they just "got" us and were able to read and anticipate those picture perfect moments. Their non-verbal communication is on point as well- they were comfortable, relaxed, and unobtrusive. They put everyone around them at ease and it allowed for natural looking (as opposed to staged) photos. Communication- check. Go to Fletch Photography's website and check out their work. Seriously, I can't even elaborate on style because for us, theirs was so completely perfect and really, it speaks for itself. Style- CHECK! Josh and Miho exceeded our expectations in every way! Without giving them much direction, they managed to capture every precious moment of our wedding. Found Fletch Photography on Yelp and besides the catering from Umekes (highly recommend) it was the best part about our wedding. My husband and I both cried when we saw our wedding photos. Josh did an incredible job of catching each little detail perfectly. We were working with a budget and I was concerned because we could only book Josh for about an hour and half. Of course I was frazzled the day of the ceremony, but Josh helped me feel relaxed and comfortable. I wanted to do a "first look" shot and Josh nailed the exact moment when my groom turned around and saw me. It's my favorite photo! He did some breathtaking ones of us with the sunset in the background. Looking at my photos, I definitely feel like they are Pinterest or magazine worthy. Josh made them look romantic, tropical, sexy, and classy all at the same time. They are exactly what I wanted! It was a great pleasure working with Josh&Miho from the beginning to the end. Before the wedding they took time to understand what kind of wedding pictures I need and I like. After this was done, we exchange contacts and made a contract, which was very clear about everything. Oh My. Josh was our photographer at our June 17, 2015 wedding at Kukio Beach, Hawaii. When we were looking through our wedding planners suggested photographers, Fletch Photography was our number one choice from the beginning. We loved their style, they seemed so clean and classic, and it was exactly what we were looking for. Working with Josh was even better than I had hoped. He was nice, professional, and really listened to the few ideas that I had. My husband and I had never taken professional pictures together, and Josh made us feel at ease, and really showed our relationship in the photos he took. I had heard before that taking pictures would be awkward because of all of the weird poses the photographer would have you do, but he was not like that at all! Where do I begin? Josh & Miho were great. Our wedding was very spontaneous. I contacted Josh via phone about 2 weeks before we flew to the Big Island and he was very welcoming over the phone. I told Josh how much we could afford and he told me what he would do and I agreed. Of course we checked out their work before we had contacted them and boy, did we like their work. I didn't get a physical confirmation(text, email, etc.) but he told me he put us down on THE calendar. When you look for an artist, you can see how they like to shoot, you can see what their artwork is like so when Josh said he could booked us on his calendar, we were ecstatic. We contacted each other the day before and on the big day to sort out all the details like location and time. Josh and Miho arrived right on time. We started the ceremony and it went by just like that. We left it up for Josh to tell us what to do during the shoot. He showed us one of the images and that's all we needed for confirmation. They were very easy to work with. We shot over what we'd paid for and they were fine with it. I guess it's all in the moment. It took about two months to get the pictures but we understood how busy they could be. We read the FAQ on their website. We're aware and prepared for the two months, lol. We love their work and we personally recommend THEM. If you love their artwork, please contact them. Wedding pictures are memories that will last forever and we wanted nice ones. It has been 6 months since our wedding and 3 months since we received the photos from Fletch Photography and I still can not express properly how glad I was to have hired them.
