First time staying at an Inn/AirBNB type place. At first, it felt strange to let ourselves into this big beautiful house and to be the only ones there. But the better half grew up going to Inns and Bed and Breakfast type places and she was all in. NICE. That is the main word I would use to sum up The Collins. Especially with how well they took care of us for our anniversary. Every little detail was thought out and taken care of. The lady who was working there while we were there could not have been better. Super nice and attentive. WE LOVED THE COLLINS. I have been going to Ocean Shores my entire life but always stayed on the main hotel strip. The Collins is on the backside of Ocean Shores and very secluded from the tourist-y parts of the town. The house is gorgeous. A huge house with so many different things in it to do right across the street from the beach. The Collins has that beautiful, awesome Ocean Shores beach aesthetic while also being a very upscale, beautiful inn. My favorite thing about The Collins [aside from the hot tub] is just how well thought out everything is. From the all day snacks and breakfast. To every little touch they add. The people who created and run The Collins are obviously big fans of this type of Inn and really worked hard to create their ultimate image of it. And you can feel that in every little detail of The Collins experience. We also liked the french toast, Starbucks egg bites and all of the things they give you for breakfast here. The pastries were my favorite but we liked everything. We were also incredibly impressed at our room fridge having some nice juice and snacky type options. The better half and I loved this experience. We had such a nice time here. The hot tub, the wine, the chocolates, the kick ass shower, the nice breakfast and snacks. If you're looking for a great experience with your special person, it's hard to think of a better option than The Collins. I've stayed in pretty much every hotel in Ocean Shores and The Collins is definitely at the top of the list if you want a nice, beautiful, relaxing, memorable experience for you and your special person.

We stayed for four nights at the High Tides Ocean Resort Unit #4 in Moclips, WA. It certainly…read moreneeds an "update" as many reviewers have pointed out. However, the condo did meet/exceed our expectations, which were quite low based on pictures and reviews. With the good price we paid and the cleanliness, it's easy to overlook the worn-out (never updated) look. So, 4+ stars for the condo. But, 1 star for Recreation Stays- the property management company. We did a "last minute" booking (escaping the wildfire smoke in the Seattle area), three days before arrival. We never got a confirmation email. We called a couple of hours later and they confirmed the booking. But, still no confirmation email or check-in instructions. When we left (from Seattle area) for the High Tides, still nothing from Recreation Stays. We called many times (15?) before we left and while driving in the car, using different numbers we found on the internet- nobody answered the phone (even though they state "24/7 white-glove guest communication"). Just the same message saying no one is available. My wife did find something about texting them in order to get a response. And they did respond!!! But, they had paperwork we needed to fill out before they would send instructions. It was a ridiculous amount of work- a multi-page questionnaire, upload pictures of drivers license, upload a selfie. Give a credit card for a damage deposit (even though we paid upfront for the condo). They finally responded with the check-in instructions. And you can't check in until 5:00 pm? The office closes at 6:00 and we weren't going to arrive until 7:00. Thankfully we had no further problems getting into the condo. And, a shout-out to Jerry, the office manager at High Tides. Incredibly nice man! But the property management, Recreation Stays, is the worst rental experience I have ever had. Unexcusable!

We booked a room for 3 nights at High Tide condominiums through "By the Sea Management" 3 weeks in…read moreadvance. After driving 3 plus hrs, when we tried to check in we were informed by their off site management company, By the Sea, that regardless of our written confirmation we had no reservation or room. Furthermore, Laura, told us, tho off season mid week, and no cars in the parking lot there were no other rooms available. I have never met a more abrasive, unhelpful, hostile person as Laura who hung up on me when I told her that our credit card had been charged for the 3 night stay. With no recourse and no one on site with whom we could talk with to straighten out this mess we had no alternative but to leave. Fortunately a brilliant motel, Moonstone Beach motel was a few blocks away, had an incredibly a helpful front desk clerk, Kate, who wiped my tears and checked us into a beautiful room with similar amenities for less money. My advice, beware of "By the Sea" management company, as it appears our situation is not unique and has had happened multiple times. So forget staying at High Tide and stop a few blocks earlier and stay at the Moonstone Beach Motel. They have wonderful on site management team. Awesome. I've been to Westport 100 times and have always insisted on sleeping in a tent, station…read morewagon or van. Life got crazy and my wife and I had our first daughter, got married and didn't have time for a honeymoon. So we decided to at least take a little break and go to Westport. We were not ready for our 6 month old to camp so we opted for these cottages. We were so happy. Everything you need. Great use of space. We could cook, walk 10 minutes to the boardwalk, walk 2 minutes to sit on the rocks and smoke a cigar and even step outside and watch the marina. I loved staying here and will be back again. Close to everything I love in the area and very cozy.

We absolutely intend to stay again. This is the off season, so the cottage was very affordable. It was a super relaxing getaway!

We stayed in the cabin room and it had a fireplace and a partial view of the ocean. But the best part was the restaurant. The food, wine and service was amazing! We tried the flight of red wine and found one we really liked so we got a bottle. The menu changes with the season and what we had was so good. I highly recommend a stay here. Next time I'll stay on the top floor of the resort.

What has happened to Ocean Crest Resort is absolutely disgusting…read more The rooms are horribly outdated and feel like they have been neglected for years. For the prices they charge, the condition of the accommodations is embarrassing. This is supposed to be a resort, not a time capsule with a premium nightly rate attached to it. But the outdated rooms are honestly the least offensive part of what is happening here. Since the new owners took over, I understand that most of the longtime staff were suddenly fired with little or no warning and the restaurant was shut down. These were real people with families, bills, mortgages, and lives tied to this place. People who helped build the reputation and experience that Ocean Crest benefited from for years were apparently discarded without a second thought. That is a shameful way to take over a longstanding local business. Closing the restaurant and gutting the staff didn't just change the resort--it affected multiple families and took jobs out of a small coastal community where replacing that kind of employment is not exactly easy. Then there is the situation involving historical artifacts that were reportedly loaned to the resort under the previous family ownership. My understanding is that some of those items have still not been returned to the people they belong to. If that is accurate, it is beyond unacceptable. Those items are part of someone else's family history and were entrusted to the resort, not handed over permanently to whoever happened to buy the property. Ocean Crest used to have something that money cannot easily recreate: history, character, loyal employees, a functioning restaurant, and a connection to the community. The new ownership appears to be doing an incredible job of destroying all of it. You can renovate an outdated room. You can replace furniture. You can repaint walls. What you cannot easily repair is the damage done when a business loses the goodwill of its employees, former owners, local community, and longtime customers. I would not spend a dime here under the current ownership. There are plenty of beautiful places to stay on the Washington coast. Spend your money somewhere that actually deserves your business.

We cooked a couple times in the full kitchen, and drove to Seabrook for lunch on another day. It's a low-tech throwback cabin experience with DVDs to borrow from the lodge and almost no cell reception, just a landline phone to call the lobby from (there is wifi though). Books up early because it's just such a fun place to stay!

From the outside this place is unassuming. The interiors are immaculate. The owners found a 70s-80s fabulous property and are making it something. The hotel is retro but the rooms are modern. There is a common ares facing all rooms and that is what makes this place great. Our visit, people staying were a tiny community. Having fun, sharing and enjoying the setting. The hotel second floor has peek-a-boo views of the bay and a gorgeous view of the lake. A private and public dock are on or adjacent to property. The owners are gracious with amenities and gave up a personal grill to a client during our stay so they could have dinner. What makes this place stand out is service. The staff was amazing and kind. Towels, no problem. Pillows- have more. This is what an independent property should feel like. If you're looking for on the waves beach, this isn't your property. If you're looking for close to the jetty which isn't as populated, and willing to drive to restaurants- book here. It was worth the distance to have a lovely experience where everyone was genuinely having fun.

They have remodeled the insides of the rooms beautifully, it really feels cozy like your at home. The staff/ owners are warm, welcoming and friendly people. Even their kids were more than happy to help me out when I needed a few things. Very well behaved and adorable :) The price was more than reasonable and the location was great! Theres a couple restaurants, bakery, shops, and market in town for your convenience. You can even rent bikes, go down to the beach, or go on a walk on the trail. There offer many homes to rent out as well! Our house was had a beach theme and we couldn't be more happy. There were three rooms ( king, queen, and four bunk beds), hot tub, and fire pit! The house was fully furnished for every use. We loved having the option to cool or dine. I love how quiet the neighborhood was. No one bothered us... we bothered no one. It was GREAT. Only downfall was that we showed up to the house with bags of trash that seem to have been forgotten and raccoons got to it. But josh who was on night duty helped us clean it out. He was very nice. Check in and checking out was easy. We didn't have to talk or see no one because a code to the door was provided. Instructions for the home was sent couple days prior to arrival. As much as I love this place I wouldn't be able to stay here as often as we'd like due to the fact that it's very expensive to stay here. So this is a treat if we ever get to do this again. I recommend trying this place out if you haven't already. Even if you just come down for a day trip. It is on the way towards ocean shore so if you can't find anything to do in town you can always head down that way.

Seabrook presents itself as something it's not. I realize now that they do not allow negative…read morereviews on their actual website. Another reviewer here mentioned that same thing. This is extremely dishonest but this is how Seabrook manages the entire business. The unit was incredibly dirty. The floors had tons of black dog hair and dirt as well as white fluffy husky type hair all over. The appliances were disgusting. They were stained. They had food stuck on, but worst of all, was the bed. It was broken, and you could not sleep on it. I alerted the management to these issues and they absolutely did not care. Not only did they not care they were incredibly rude, condescending, and blamed me for the issues. The person I spoke with name is Tyler, and he needs to be removed from any type of hospitality position. He said not being able to sleep on a broken bed is my "personal preference" and that I'm "impossible to please". He also said they'll schedule a deep clean "after I leave", implying the entire time that I made the mess. I had not even been at Seabrook 24 hours by the time this all happened. Tyler's options for me were to leave Seabrook and forfeit the rest of the two nights reservation I pre-paid for. Alternatively, he said I could rent a separate unit, still forfeiting my existing reservation and two nights I paid for, and pay additionally for an entirely new reservation. This was right after he said nothing in the entire community was available to move me into. I looked online and there were 105 dog friendly units and 150 units overall available for the duration of my stay. He was dishonest. I asked him if he could at least try to find a topper for the bed so that I could sleep on it, he stomped off - that was at 11 AM on Monday, the morning after my arrival. It is now midday Wednesday and I still have not heard back from Tyler or Seabrook about my issues. The maintenance person did come and realize that the bed had been shoved under a shelf in the headboard. However, when he pulled it out from underneath, it was almost a foot off the foundation. After not hearing from Tyler that night, I tried to sleep on the couch. It equally was not comfortable and for over $350 a night, this entire situation was not acceptable. I left the next morning as the room was uninhabitable. Seabrook portrays itself is having nice, clean, updated, elevated rentals with wonderful people working there. That is not the case. Like the manufactured community, that is the manufactured presence it creates for itself online. You would never know that without staying there. And once you stay there, and if you're not happy with your unit, you have no options but to stay in a horrible unit or ruin your vacation and go home while losing your money. Also, the night before I left, there was a cougar on the property and they sent a text at 8 PM telling residents to not go outside. They said they would update people when it was safe to go outside. As of 11 AM the next day they had not sent any updates, I absolutely had to walk my dog, and while outside I saw a worker and asked about the cougar. He showed me a picture of it because it was so large, and told me I should stay in my room. All Seabrook had to do was move me to a clean room with a decent bed. Instead, they decided to be dishonest with their review policy online, and dishonest by saying nothing was available and try to make me lose money I paid while charging me double just for a clean, comfortable room. They absolutely did not care if I had a good stay or not. They care about money, not you. They were unwilling to make any accommodation or take any accountability for their issues. This was extremely disappointing as I generally only take one vacation a year due to a busy work schedule. I had my new rescue dog with me, and was very excited for this trip for him. Seabrook and Tyler with his rude attitude absolutely ruined it. Not only was Tyler impossible to work with, he was derogatory, he kept putting me down, saying I was impossible, and his manner was extremely aggressive. He was acting like he was frustrated, throwing his arms up in the air, and I was absolutely confused and shocked by their "hospitality". They also advertise that they're extremely dog friendly. They are not. There was only one store where you could go in with a dog, and that was the actual pet store. When I went in one of them turned on a vacuum about 2 feet from my dog, and I almost lost control of him while he tried to run out the door. Along with filthy appliances with sticky food residue - the dishes were chipped and dirty. Look at the photos, judge for yourself.
