Quiet place. Owner and staff were accommodating. Nothing fancy but relaxing. 5 minutes walked to the beach.

While looking for a quick beach getaway, I found Beachwood Resort on Booking.com and booked right after seeing the photos here! However - I suggest booking straight through their site, as I had some issues with Booking - the staff at Beachwood was super kind and helped me navigate those issues and corrected it on their end which was appreciated as well. This place is super cute. It's at Copalis Beach, about 10 minutes from downtown Ocean Shores area, and it's a great option if you're looking to come up for a day or two. Check-in was quick and easy and the woman working the front desk was super sweet. She got us checked-in and on our way with the Wifi password quickly. I was nervous based off of past reviews, but our bungalow was amazing! Such a cute, cozy accommodation. You open the front door into the full living room, off to the left is a kitchenette with a mini fridge and stovetop, as well as ample counter space. Then there's also a full bathroom and a nice sized bedroom as well. And the bed was pretty comfy, even! On top of that there's also a cute patio space as well if you're in the mood to watch the sunset/sunrise. On top of being the perfect spot, it was really clean as well. Felt safe considering being in a pandemic. Highly recommend Beachwood Resorts - also really appreciate that you're able to book one night stays here! I know Quinault is still making you book a minimum of 2 nights so it was great to have this option that worked with our timeline. read more

This place is a NIGHTMARE!! The photos online are at least 10yrs old as is the furniture in the dirty, dusty, condos.!! The office is the first clue how rundown the place is!! Would have questions about laying my head on their beddingThey claim it's "Oceanside" when you are at least a quarter of a mile away from the beach!! You drive in past the trees to find what looks like a trailer park, to walk into an office that smells like a VERY OLD GOODWILL thrift store!! We took one look at the room & RAN not walked away from this place. Only 7miles away is Ocean Shores with many pet friendly options right on the beach for a lovely stay!! This is our second time staying here. We came back because we absolutely love it!!!! It's clean, it's quiet, it's equipped with everything you need in the kitchen,bath,bedroom& livingroom. So know this going in; this properties rooms are OLD. Zero upgrades, dated beddings/linens. But! The property itself is spacious and private trails to the ocean make up for it. If you are sensitive to smells it does smell like mildew in the rooms. Spacious rooms and plenty of parking. read more

This place was great. Now if you are coming to the Washington Coast expecting 5 star accommodations, or even 4 for that matter, keep moving, this is not going to be the place for you and you should probably just skip Ocean Shores and the Washington coast in general, you won't find it here. That being said, this place is about 10 minutes outside of the main hub of Ocean Shores which makes a nice getaway but close enough for food and "tourist" traps. There is a trail from the property that leads directly to the beach. It is a 5-10 min walk maybe. The beach area is so quiet, peaceful and away from the crowds. They have a child's play area, pool (seasonal) Lookout tower, hot tub all on the property. All of the rooms have a kitchen in them as well as a mini fridge if you are going to cook or be staying a long while. The room was clean, smelled strongly of cleaner so I do know they were in their doing extra work because of COVID. Bed was decent, a bit firm but no signs of creepy critters anywhere in here! Bathroom was clean but the ceiling was in need of a new paint job because of all of the moisture. All in all this place is great especially for the price. I will stay here again. read more

Very nice getaway at the ocean. I like the Copalis area because it's far enough away from the crowds of Ocean Shores, but only 6 miles from the IGW in town when you need something or want some take-out food. There are about 27 rooms - which I'd almost describe as cabins, in that they are laid out as duplexes over the property with space between on the very large piece of property. We had the opportunity to view three units, and all were different! But one of the things they all had in common was being cozy and warm, and above all very clean. The managers are very nice, very accommodating, and even during Covid they were observing all proper protocols as far as we could tell. The lobby offers a huge assortment of DVDs to take back to your room. The rooms all (well, at least the three we saw) have nice kitchens, with all the stuff you'd need for "stay in and cook in the cabin" sorts of get-aways. There was WiFi in all areas, although it can be a bit spotty. We did have an issue with the Wifi and being that we were on a "business getaway" it was a little disappointing. But the managers did their very best to accommodate and we appreciated that very much. Note that Verizon cell service (and I suspect other providers) is pretty slim due to the remote location - but there is 5G just up the road heading back towards Ocean Shores. Since we were here mid-winter, the outdoor pool was closed although the hot tub was running. There is also a minimal but usable exercise room on the second floor of the beach-view rec room facility facing the ocean, with "peekaboo views" of the water. Overall a very nice place, and a very nice stay. Maybe not for everyone, but it worked well for us and we enjoyed our stay. read more

This place is not a great choice at all! We came here Thursday in person to check availability for Friday night she said that there was one room available so we reserved it. We returned Friday at 5:00 Pm and we were told that someone booked our room out from under us on booking.com. Leaving us without lodging due to the owner not putting it in the system fast enough! Words cannot describe how disgusting this place was. Checked in for Memorial Day weekend late night. Opened the door to the room 6 and was immediately hit by the overwhelming mold smell. After several minutes of searching I finally located it in the bathroom. When I looked up the whole ceiling was scattered with black mold. I returned to the front desk who was on the phone, she couldn't even be bothered to help, feigned a look of fake surprise to hear there was mold, and simply told us she would refund our money. Barely even an apology made despite the fact that I am an asthmatic and was already struggling pretty good for air after just a few minutes in this room. After we left we found out they re posted the room for rent I have filed a complaint with the department of health but wanted to warn people! read more

This place was phenomenal. It has a little bit of everything thing to fit everybody and it was all perfect. Even the managers are in a league of their own. The main reason people go to the Ocean Shores / Copalis Beach area is for the beach. There are miles of beautiful beaches. The good thing about the beach at the Beachwood Resort is that it isn't packed with a lot of people. Your little bit of paradise doesn't have to be shared with everyone else. It's nearly your own private beach. The resort has a heated swimming pool and hot tub. In addition, there are plenty of things to keep you entertained including a play yard for kids and a gorgeous club house. The club house comes with a fireplace and game tables including a pool table. Not only that but this place is so clean it shines The amenities offered are first class but it doesn't stop there. The management team is one of the best we have seen. They go out of their way to make sure everyone is happy and things are even better than they should be. They are working hard to make this place one that people will return to. In addition to the 5 stars we are giving the resort, we'd give an additional five stars to the team running the resort if we could. They are definitely awesome. We would definitely return. read more

Nice location. Close to beach, close to store and most importantly not far to a wonderful, wonderful resort/RESTAURANT! Loved food, View and atmosphere! We will stay there next time, very clean. BUT we will NEVER stay at BEACHWOOD RESORT again! We are going to check all the other resorts near by, we saw several. Nasty place. It had a nasty smell. Even though she charges you to clean it after you leave. The sheets looked cleaned, but I don't think anything else was washed. So we pulled sheets over so as not to touch the top cover. There was these Asian dirty filthy dusty heavy blankets in closet which we needed to use since it was cold and the heater in room was not working, it actually looked like it was just for looks (like to pass inspection). The one in living room eventually turned on, but we were concerned it catch on fire. It was dusty, had webs, and it looked real real real old it never turned red like wall heaters normally do. But somehow it warmed up some. We left a tiny window over bed open to have some fresh air and hide smell, sprayed essential oils, turned bathroom fan on, second night we boiled cut lemons to bring moisture and lemon scent all over. It didn't help much. Because of this we decided not to cook our breakfast in condo. We had all our meals out. I even left all clothes in car and just brought in what I needed that day. So inconvenient, not what we paid for. The bathroom had some cosmetic issues and it looked like water was dripping off walls. Lots of stains from moisture I'm guessing. She is cheap, one half towel roll in kitchen and that was it! LOL Not even free sea shells from the beach LOL! Nothing to say welcome enjoy your stay! For the price I was expecting something else. Bathroom barely enough toilet paper for two nights even though she knew it might be 3 of us staying. There was 1 tiny shampoo and 1 thin soap just enough for one use, that's it! LOL SINCE SHE WAS SOOOO CONCERNED ABOUT PETS (which we didn't have) AND TO BRING HOUSE SHOES! I THOUGHT THE PLACE WAS AT LEAST GOING TO BE CLEAN, THAT WOULD'VE BEEN JUST FINE. I saw a review about owners being on site... I'm here during 8/2014 and the owners are in the office until 9pm or later. We asked for towels and TP and they gave us a giant sack of everything we could imagine. We just got married at their solarium tower and it was perfect. Terrible. I really think if your scared of covid don't come here. They are really careless and not the cleanliness. My bf booked a stay here for the weekend with our 2 dogs and 2 girls. The second we got there there were problems. Called 7 days before we arrived to book a reservation, We asked for a 2 queen and a pet friendly room, when we arrived, they didn't have any information saved and no room saved for us. My bf had to give his information twice (Don't know why the owner didnt have this all taken down before.) She showed us two rooms.. one was dirty and one smelled really bad of MJ. We had to wait over 30mins for her to find us a room. While the owners husband was cleaning the 1st room she showed us there was a room next to it that she wanted to show us, ended up smelling like someone bathed in Marijuana. The owner was embarrassed and said she was not going to let our kids stay in a room that smelled like that. We ended up having to check into a king size bed with a couch bed which was dirty and waited for it to be fixed because the housekeepers haven't moved the couch in months it appeared. This place Lacked alot dishes. No kitchen sponge, no kitchen towels. Posted signs had Asked to sweep and wash all the dishes before leaving. Ridiculous. They don't even the supplies. Missing a trash bags. Pillows were flat, mattress was hard as a rock so was the couch. We won't be coming back. No phone reception & Bad wifi. Very over priced night if you ask me, almost $300! Stayed there for two days week of 8/10/20. Customer service is great, rooms are pretty clean (suggest bringing your own sheets), beach access is good, area is quiet. Not sure why price is so high. Um guys, this one is hard to write because I don't want you to flock there and destroy my chances of securing a reservation! I absolutely love this wonderful place. Mid century modern updated duplex bungalows with a short hike over a slough to the pristine beach. it's a private beach so at the height of summer I was often the only person in sight. Every one bedroom bungalow has a patio with courtyard or dune view. This is a quirky place run by a korean couple that are so nice. It's like staying at a home, each is different, furniture and decorations are individual to the suite. It is not fancy at all, it feels like staying at a friends vacation place, mixed furnishings and kitchen supplies. We did our shopping in Ocean Shores at the IGA. There's fire pits! There's a lookout tower/exercise room/party room. The heart of the property is a common area with an indoor game and family room and a covered hot tub and plexiglass shielded pool. Such a wonderful place. I will never stay in another Ocean Shores area property again. Sweet, relaxing retreat. Nothing fancy is just my jam. read more

We had stayed here before and loved it, years ago. But this time it was appalling. There weren't enough items in the kitchen provided to have an actual meal. We had to ask for a can opener and nobody would answer at the desk. Finally they came and told me there was one in the room. But gave us one anyways. The pan we tried to use fell apart and the stove tops smoked when we started cooking. The smoke detectors started going off. The bathroom toilet wasn't properly installed and it moved and made a loud noise when you sat on it. The room smelled like wet dog. The bathroom also had mold on the ceilings and the bathroom door was filthy. The bedroom was the worst part. I didn't even feel comfortable sleeping in it. The floor was stained in every area. It was moist and sticky everywhere. The heater barely put out any heat. The closet had nasty black mold along the floor boards and the walls. We will not be staying here again. And I will not continue recommending this place to friends and family. This room is a health hazard. read more

There's just no excuse for all the reservation problems and trying to check into this place. Until about a year and a half ago staff lived onsite. Now no one is there. If they aren't going to staff the office during standard hours then they need to have an alternate system. When we rent SUPER NICE vacation homes on the Oregon coast the office leaves us an envelope with our key in a little video-monitored alcove outside their rental office so we can arrive at 2 AM if we choose. I'm really getting sick of this po-dunk place that CLEARLY needs the business failing to meet the most basic needs of guests (the ability to check in). read more

I reserved a 2br room several days ago for myself and my son for Mother's Day. the day before our reservation I received an email and a text saying they canceled my "King room" reservation. I called and emailed and texted for hours (hoping there was some sort of mistake) and they would not answer me. Eventually someone called me back, and she had zero sympathy, she just said "well sorry we overbooked". Now we are left with nowhere to stay and our Mother's Day weekend plans are ruined. I have checked every hotel and resort up and down the Washington Coast and no one has any availability because it is a holiday weekend. I am so disappointed. Anywhere else I have ever stayed that made a huge mistake like this would try to remedy the situation. They would use their connections and help us find somewhere else, at the very least. But the owner/manager at the Beachwood could not care less. Do NOT make a reservation for this place, they might not honor it and you will be left with nowhere to stay. read more

We paid to stay somewhere with a pool and the pool was closed, hot tub closed. The property says "pet friendly" but get ready to stay in a room that you didn't pay for because you brought your dog. The beds are uncomfortable. The dishes were filthy and still had food on them. The water is yellow, plumbing barely works. I reserved a room at this establishment for a weekend. When we arrived, it was after hours for the office and there was no one to check us in. I called their after hours check in phone number as the instructions state and had to leave a message. I tried this phone number multiple times through out the night and no one ever got back to us. We ended up having to sleep in the car. The next morning, when someone finally opened the office, they were very sorry we had to sleep in the car they offered our third night stay for only $50. We decided to extend our stay an extra day for three nights. After the vacation, the company has charged my credit card for four full nights which includes the night we slept in the car. When trying to contact the company concerning the bill, they kept transferring me or telling me that they would call me back. The vacation resort is very pleasant with a hot tub, pool tables, fire pits and easy private beach access. I only warn of the outsourced company who handles their reservations. I have had a very poor experience with this booking company. read more

My girlfriends family has been coming here for years and I for three years. It's a wonderful place great for kids. It has a nice new play ground this year and great pool and hot tub. The amenities are fantastic The beach isn't a far walk like some places on the coast. I hope we keep coming here for years. As long as the price stays decent. It has risen every year I've come. Resort? I don't think so! This place was laughable. It is no surprise that they have not had a truly good review since early 2015. There must have been an ownership change given the previous reviews seemed decent prior to 2016. I am not sure what happened. No business owner I know would count on inflicting intentional confusion to get a booking. The rates seemed to be at the last minute whim of the manager. There is no need to agree on a price...it will change. Be warned...the common areas were a mess. The game room had a dart board that was from a cereal box. The shuffleboard table was so old the disks didn't slide. The hot tub was broken. The ping pong ball (yes, one) was hard plastic... Who am I kidding, there is no need to list all of the ridiculous issues with this place. The grounds were a mess (although the man working the grounds was trying hard to keep up), the common areas were dilapidated, the pool was stained green, the disorganization was astounding. No business run like this should be rewarded with customers. It is not like I am used to staying at a Ritz-Carlton...but this place made you feel like you made a mistake every minute you were there. First time I've ever reviewed a place I've actually never been. The rating refers to Beachwood's reservation system; it might have been a five-star hotel but I wouldn't know. Based on the recommendation of The Boyfriend's boss, I reserved a room on Monday for the three-day President's Day Weekend. Confirmation e-mail received immediately. On Wednesday, based on Zannie S's review (see below, and thanks, Zannie!) and wanting to do some cooking there, I e-mailed the resort to ask about the kitchen inventory because I wondered did I need to bring my own frying pan or baking sheet or steak knives and the like. No response. On Friday night, The Boyfriend arrives home to a voice mail saying that our reservation was cancelled because we didn't confirm we were coming. He called immediately, spoke with someone at a call center who couldn't explain the problem nor solve it. He checked his e-mail to find one sent Friday morning to say they had tried to reach us and neither the phone nor e-mail worked (really?), and then a second e-mail Friday afternoon, both signed "Jane" but obviously written by two different people. Their claim: "We have been try to contact with you so many times.... We will cancel for the your reservation at this time today due to the no connection,no confirm issue etc." We had a written confirmation. They had our phone number and TWO e-mail addresses. Nowhere did their confirmation indicate that we had to call to say we were coming. But somehow we ended up with no reservation and no room. Friday night of a three-day weekend is no time to find another room on the coast! Is there a rule that you have to confirm your reservation after the hotel has confirmed your reservation? I've never had to do that before. The owner was very nice and apologized and encouraged us to come some other weekend. Appreciate the effort and Beachwood Resort looks like a great place, but this disappointing episode will stay with me for a while. read more

First off, for all the people who gave this place a less than stellar review, have you all been to the Washington coast before?? This is not like California, nor Oregon even. The coast in this state is economically depressed and sparsely settled. So if you want fancy with everything just-so, go to Seabrook. Beachwood Resort is what I would describe as charmingly divey. We are a family of 4 plus pooch, and this place was perfect for us. The boys could run around the property and we didn't have to watch them. Yes, things are a bit run-down and worn out, but we like that we can let our hair down and get local. Call ahead of booking for if and when the pool is open. The spa was great for us, as was the club house where our guys played pool and table tennis. The Look-Out was pretty special with an awesome view of the ocean - we ate our dinner in there one night and played games. There are not many rooms here, so this place is very private and quiet. I found the hosts extremely accommodating, though I did have to go hunting for a cutting board and steak knives for the the night we bbq'ed and while we had a coffee maker, no filters. Just part of the little details staying on the WA Coast entails. There is no thing as "on the beach" here, or anywhere. There are large dunes and a tidal creek between most resorts and the beach, so plan for a little hike. So overall, we felt the $225 a night was about right, even with us bringing much of our own food and having to DIY some things. It's all about getting off the grid when you visit this area (which this definitely is, so phooey on the WiFi junkies, though we didn't have a problem). Some tips: Go into Ocean Shores to the kite shop for their custom kites (not at all expensive!). Also, check out the Green Lantern pub, their beer garden is beautiful! read more

· I wish I could say we experienced this facility but we were turned away upon arrival after booking a pet friendly rental for the weekend of August 28th. After driving for four hours, looking forward to celebrating our wedding anniversary, the owner did not have a room for us. Claiming all the pet friendly rooms were taken. We had confirmed with the owner one week prior that our two small dogs were coming, in addition to noting it on our reservation. She only offered to have our dogs sleep outdoors! Myself, my husband, our 1.5 year old son and two dogs were left stranded with nowhere to go and no cell phone reception. The treatment we received was disgusting and inhumane. read more

First thing...the owners are really, really nice. The pool is pretty nice too. However, this might have been a resort in the 70's, but definitely not now. Our room had a seriously broken down couch, even worse bed that literally sunk into a V shape in the middle, and even though no one had showered there was condensation on the inside of the windows in the living room. We actually asked for a refund because we were going to leave after the first night, but they offered us another room. The second was definitely better, and bigger with a little dining room table with 2 chairs and a closet in the bedroom (which also had much more space in general) that the first room did not have, which is strange since I think they are all the same price, but still could use better beds and couch. No condensation in the second room, but it did have a strange odor. The saddest part (other than my aching back after that horrible first night's sleep) was the playground. Badly rusted jungle gym, one broken swing, and some of the steps on the playhouse were actually broken off or not secured and spun when the kids stepped on them. Not safe at all. I'm sure they are struggling like a lot of places, but they need some serious upgrades! Oh, and ocean side literally means it's on the side closest to the ocean, but it does not have ocean views! read more

HORRIBLE COMMUNICATION. Was also charged 3 times (THREE) for our one night stay. During check out I brought this to the attention of the lady at the front desk and she was completely unbothered by it. Got home and for the past month + I have been trying to contact them about refunding the two extra charges. Have gotten two responses both of which were seemingly brushing me off. We are coming back annually to copalis beach. For new years we found that resort on booking.com. The appartment is spacious with a kitchen. The front desk lady is very nice and the resort is run by a nice couple which response instantly to any request and concerne. They brought a stuffed pillow animal for our little one to sleep on. It is very family friendly with a playground, watchtower and a hot tub. There is a short hike in to the beach. I think this place is great for clamming and relaxing. read more

we stayed here while visiting Ocean Shores. the front desk staff is incredibly nice and attentive. my 5 girlfriends and i stayed in room 11... with views of the Copalis Beach, our own patio, a huge bedroom and utlra spacious and gigantic living room. we were able to fit 3 mattresses in there! the resort staff made our stay a very good one. whatever we needed, they provided for us. in the morning- they had cornbread baked in an ice cream wafer cone for us. sounds strange... but we scarfed them down like animals. it was so yummy! the owner of the resort is Korean... so she had Boricha (barley tea) in a thermos for us. ah! how awesome. everything is clean and ready-to-use. we had our own kitchen and microwave- t.v. with cable so we could watch Iron Chef and make fun of my best friend's cousin (Marc Dacosos- the host of Iron Chef America). the pool is big and we spent hours upon hours swimming laps and doing somersaults. we had such a splendid time here. i would definitely come back in the future. thanks for such wonderful accommodations, Beachwood! read more

We have been going to the Beachwood Resort for the last three years for Valentine's day and have previously always enjoyed our stay. This year, several days before the date of our reservation we were notified that the our reservations had been cancelled due to a septic issue. I spoke with Josh on the phone and he was completely unapologetic and left a very bad taste in my mouth. The property management company also has a very draconian cancellation policy on our end where we cannot change or cancel our reservation, yet there is no recompense when they had to cancel our reservation. Will not be staying here or in any of their other properties again. read more

I don't know where to begin. Besides the pool being green and the overall lack of upkeep to the place, the people who worked there were far from helpful. I told them the ice machine was broken. I was then told it wasn't plugged in and she plugged in it. She said ice would be ready in an hour. Two hours go by, no ice. At that point she admits that the machine is actually broken. It is over 80 outside and no ice. We have to drive 15 minutes each way to get ice. Don't plan on taking a shower of flushing your toilet. The water pressure is non existent. We were promised "the best room", room 25. We made reservations months in advance. Guess what, room 25 was not available when we arrived. I brought this up, and "sorry". We were quoted one price and was charged a much higher price. She mentioned every reason in the book as to why they would not honer her verbal quote. Terrible customer service, dirty unorganized facilities. We were harassed by staff members. The water stunk the WiFi didn't work. Way over priced! They had over booked and given us a tiny room but we were charged the same price after being told "well they are all the same price now" we were told one thing about visitors that per their "policy" our visitor "could stay until 9pm" which was totally reasonable. The next day we were told we "would be charged and extra $35 per hour we had a visitor according to their policy" by the way they have NO posted policies anywhere! We were not loud nor messy, simply tried to spend time with family that had to book at a different place. We clearly should have too. read more

Overall it was a good experience, there were several issues that prevented it from being outstanding. First I want to say, if you want a place where you and family/friends could rent 3-6 rooms and just lounge around the area, this is fantastic. They also take pets! The Room: fairly nice rooms, the rooms look like they have been updated, with paint etc. Nicely appointed although the furniture are in various stages of disrepair. We stayed at the most south Oceanside condo. They do have a fridge. No phone, also if you have ATT/T-Mobile no cell service. They do have wifi, however depending on how far you are away from main office it may or may not work. In this case it never worked. They do have a tv with basic cable (network tv, some home shopping channels) and a DVD player which you can get free movies from the office. We actually played board games at night. Now a couple of major concerns. One there are Burs everywhere on the carpets/rugs/blankets. Not a problem for those that walk with shoes/slippers I side, but if you have a crawling infant, a huge negative. Also not sure if they just had taken them down, but no fire alarms. Also a big negative. The rest of the resort: So there are several different areas. Pool: when it is open it is fairly nice, heating varies. The day we arrived the pool was closed. Which was bummer, they did offer the ability to go to ocean shores to use a pool there, but who wants to travel 8 miles to go to the pool. A room discount would have been nicer. There is also a hot tub, but it looks like it just has heat as I didn't really see jets. Clubhouse: some decent clubhouse activities. Air hockey table, shuffleboard, pool table etc. They also have a tv, stereo, random games/books. Ping pong table as well. The shuffleboard/air hockey and pool table were in various states of repair. Pool table only has one cue stick. They were still fun to play with. Playground: didn't spend much time here, the toys were broken and the play structure I think is in its final weeks . Observation deck: this is the highlight of the grounds, there is table with chairs where you enjoy the sunset and have a great dinner. There are also a couple of exercise bikes in here. A great sunset can be had here (and apparently you can get cel service here as well) Other areas: by here is a path to the beach but it would be a 10-15 minute walk through the long dune plants on a trail. Also there were large fire pits with some wood and marshmallow sticks for fires. There was also grills outside each condo. The owners/neighbors: the owners are great, the resort is a bit run down, but the owners try very hard and were extremely nice. Also we met some nice neighbors who shared their fire with us.
