So i fell into a bit of a just meh funk and just let my hair go. By the time I snapped out of my funk, my hair was nothing but tangles and a huge dread. I was super worried about having to cut all my hair! When I walked into the salon and explained my situation they booked me the same day! I hate causing people to work longer or harder than they should have to for my mistakes made to my hair. They made me feel warm and inviting even though my hair was a HOT mess! The woman who took the extra time was such an amazing person! She made sure she wasnt hurting me as she combed out my hair. Even shampooed it twice so it wasnt oily! She even took more extra time to blow dry and straighten my hair. I was sooo glad to be able to save my hair! I have found my new stylist! Price is amazing and the salon is adorable! I was stood up. I'd seen the stylist many times before. She had called & asked if I could change my appt. to a different time & I agreed, but when I arrived, the building was locked! Finally the manicurist opened the door & asked what I wanted. Really? Like I was selling Amway? I told her I had an appt. with Tammy. I have been fortunate enough to use the services of this outstanding salon for many years. The owners, Andrew and Ingrid Turrey, are some of the finest people I have ever met. Andrew specializes in color, and in all the years I have been going to him I have received compliments from both friends and strangers on the color of my hair. Over the last few years I've tried a few different salons and stylists. Pacific Hair in the quaint town of Cambria has been my favorite so far. I was actually just visiting for a personal weekend retreat, when I decided to cut my hair. April is the stylist that cut my hair and not only did she do a wonderful job with the cut and style but she also had incredible communication about what she was doing and what I wanted. She gave great product suggestions and even styling tips for in the future. She even gave me some wonderful tips on where to go exploring in the area since I was just visiting. I never thought I could have the hair I have now...until I started seeing April as my hairstylist. She actually put youth into my hair! I travel all the way from San Francisco to see her and it's so worth it! April got rid of my frizz halo with a keratin treatment. She also put some color back into my hair and my life! I can tell her exactly what I'm thinking of and she gives me exactly that. I'm in love with the Paul Mitchell Ginger hair products, too. I have very oily skin and started using Jane Iredale products from Pacific Hair. I've never found a foundation powder that stays put all day and I also don't have an oil slick at the end of the day. My polish normally chips off within 3 days, but this new shellac polish has been on for a week and although I was busy making stuffing with my hands and then stuffing a turkey, not one bit chipped off. Previously I wrote about my excellent experience with Adrienne. I just had to rave about April and Sylvia too. April along with being a great hairdresser also waxes my eyebrows. In all my years she is the best. Sylvia gives the best pedicure I've ever had and her reflexology food rubs are the best. My pedicures last for a month. Highly recommend both of them. I wanted to add, Adrienne just took me from a redhead to a blond. Rather than bleach me out she's slowly working the blond back in so it looks natural. I love it. And my cuts are always perfected. Sometimes finding a new hairdresser keeps us locked into a hairstyle long past its prime. I was really blessed to find Tammy at Pacific Hair in Cambria, California through a Yelp recommendation that was actually written for a hairdresser who has moved! First, a little about Pacific Hair, Skin and Nails. This inviting little salon is located at 780 Arlington Street in Cambria, California. I don't know about you, but I always feel a bit vulnerable staring myself in the eyes while seated at a hairdresser's station...with a wet head. Draped in a lovely black cape, we still feel a bit "naked". It takes a great group of people working in harmony to make a great salon. The staff at Pacific Hair all work comfortably side by side. The atmosphere will put you at ease from your first visit. When I made my first appointment, I called late in the day and left a message on their machine. I received a call the next morning to schedule with Tammy. Since each hairdresser has an iPhone and the salon works off an Apple based computer, the stylists can check their schedules with ease and make appointments even while they are away from the salon. For years, I wore my hair extremely long and in a braid since I wear hats. With the water crisis here, I became weary of hoping I'd have enough water to wash my hair each week. Last November, I put my hair in two braids and cut 21 inches off the total. A few weeks later, I cut bangs. From November 2015 to May 2016, I felt so frumpy! I gradually "trimmed" another 15 inches off and finally made an epic leap to look for a "real" hairdresser! I am so happy to have been referred to Tammy! I browsed Google and saved photos to my phone of some cute hairstyles and waited for my appointment. I'm currently on a walker and found the back parking lot a little tough to navigate due to the hillside, but one of the salon's clients helped me get to the door. Tammy walks me out. After a thorough consultation, I sat back and let Tammy work her magic. She really takes her time and lets the client's hair "talk to her"...and she "listens"! I love a hairdresser who takes time to learn a client's preferences too. By the second appointment, Tammy gave me a sample of a wonderful shampoo and conditioner that she uses. Pureology Hydrate shampoo and conditioner are wonderful! I also like the Purology Curl Complete styling gel for curly hair! So often we just make do with products from the store, but great products really make a difference in styling your new do at home. Pacific Hair carries a good selection from some great product lines! I am blessed with a thick mop of curly grey/Blonde hair and I ADORE my new haircut! Tammy asked me how I was going to style my hair at home...important if you're going to look anything like you did walking out of the salon. I wanted a wash and go style and that's all I do too! Sometimes I blow it dry, but it's not a necessity for this easy hairstyle. Tammy takes her time sectioning and checking her work and I think that's key to a great cut! Pacific Hair is a longtime Cambria establishment staffed by a bevy of family members. It is a clean, modern, pretty salon and the stylists all seem to be knowledgeable and skilled. Toni did my hair... she was very easygoing and worked with me to understand what I wanted, then delivered. The prices are very reasonable. I was able to get an appointment on the same day (Wednesday). Weekends in spring and summer are very busy with wedding parties. Highly recommended! read more

She has always carefully listened to my needs/wants and honored them with flawless execution. She offers informed and insightful answers to my questions regarding color and product I've had over the years. I have never felt rushed, she takes her time and does the job right. I respect her as a professional and enjoy her as a person. Jamie regularly attends hair shows to keep current, educated and motivated. I have always been warmly welcomed and offered refreshments upon arrival, and my appointment time has always begun as scheduled.
