We LOVE this school! We have always had our three kids in Christian education, and nothing compares to Pac Lu. Our eldest started high school here this year and we loved it so much that we moved out two middle schoolers over to join. The academics are top-notch, the community is loving and authentic, and the focus of everyone on staff is to share the gospel with the next generation. All things are done with a Biblical worldview. We found Pac Lu during the middle of a transition from overseas due to a family medical crisis. Pac Lu was absolutely a gift from God for my teenage daughters as a safe harbor during a very tough time in life. The staff were supportive all around - for academic and spiritual needs. They provided well-organized academic instruction, good moral and character development, positive adult mentors, and Biblical Christian instruction. Both daughters found good friends and enjoyed the family atmosphere of Pac Lu. As a family with cross-cultural experience, we really appreciated the diversity of Pac Lu within a small student and faculty. Across the board, the admin and teaching staff were dedicated and caring. They daily went above and beyond their work hours in their efforts to support students and provide in-classroom opportunities as well as extracurricular activities. We were with PacLu during the pandemic and PacLu was ahead of the curve in figuring out how to transition to online teaching as well as prepare for a safe return to in-person instruction. When my girls and I talked to friends at other schools, we realized that Pac Lu was more organized and efficient than most other schools at that time. True, the school is small. The positive side of that is that parents are able to easily keep in touch with the school and student progress through open communication with admin and staff as well as an excellent online grading and report system. The downside is that activities are limited with a small student body. However, they have a spacious enough campus with lots of outdoor recreation areas as well as cool resources such as a 3D printer, maker/tinker space, a large computer lab and art classroom. Their tuition is very affordable (compared to the other South Bay private Christian schools) and we were happy to fulfill more than the requested amount of parent volunteer hours to support the school. Pac Lu's goal is to mentor students from 6th-12th grade and they love when families will stay for the long run. Even though our family couldn't stay for the long run, but we still hold Pac Lu and the people we met there very dear in our hearts. read more

My son is really excelling at Pac Lu both academically and spiritually. He has been in two different school districts where he wasn't doing to good all around. I'm pretty sure my son didn't want to attend the school once my wife and I mentioned it to him. I dropped him off at a type of orientation where he shadowed a student for a day. I picked him up and he was really excited to my surprise. From that point he has been growing both spiritually and academically. It seems strange to say this, but the school is definitely Christ centered. If you are a parent and are concerned about not just academic growth but spiritual also Pac Lu is a great school. A really great Christian school from 6th to 12th grades! The quality of the children and their families who come here was the most noticeable advantage for us. The students were very respectful and hardworking and were very positive role-models for our child. Small class sizes between 15 - 20 students ensured each child was given individual attention. The academics was broad and included many different areas of interest for students to explore. Affordable tuition (in comparison to other private schools) was a real plus. Conveniently located in Gardena about 3/4 mile from the 91/110 freeway interchange and 1/2 mile from the nearest 405 freeway on/off ramp. Available after-school child care was very reasonably priced so I could pick up my son after work. A real gem! read more

Pacific Lutheran Jr./Sr. High School has a God-centered education for 6th through 12th Grades. Not only do they focus on academics, but I love that they always bring God into every subject just as it should be. During this "pandemic" the teachers are working overtime to make sure these kids have a proper education as well as give them rich truths from God's word to encourage their souls. There are several opportunities each week when students are encouraged to join in remote social platforms such as chapel, career talks, STEM clubs, etc.. which help to give them a sense of community. They are encouraged to think outside the box to find new ways to meet their social & emotional needs with new virtual clubs. This school is wonderful and although everyone has room to grow they give many opportunities for parents to give thoughts, opinions and suggestions with surveys and monthly parent meetings because every student, parent and staff matters. In writing this review I want to tell you that the reason I chose only five stars is because there was not an option to choose 10. This school is an awesome school. My daughter just graduated from this school and let me tell you that the love and support for my daughter that the staff has for her did not stop the day that they handed her her diploma! These teachers and staff really care about these young adults and are doing an outstanding job! We came from the public school system prior to this school and I have to tell you that I never knew how much education that she had missed until coming to this school. If you love your child and you want them to succeed and be taught the ways of our lord then this is the place. This school just moved locations to a larger facility at 1409 w 182nd st Gardena ca. And has over doubled in size since my daughter first started there 4 years ago as a freshman! And I believe that the reason for this is because the word of their success is getting around. I will tell you that this school was a no tolerance policy when it comes to poor behavior this is why they don't have the distractions that public schools have! They are there to educate your student and teach them to succeed far beyond college!
