Bought a Groupon for two IPL photofacials. I tried multiple times to make an appointment but there are so many customer service issues here I wasn't ever able to use the Groupon and had to request a refund. 1. The person that does the IPL facials apparently only comes in sometimes and then only in the afternoons... no one else that answers the phone seems to be able to make appointments for the IPL facialist so you have to wait for her to call you back. Here's a hint... she never does. 2. After trying for more than a MONTH to get an appointment or even talk to anyone that could help me make an appointment, I finally was able to get the woman who does IPL on the phone. She told me she had absolutely no openings for over a month and then attempted to chastise me for not using the Groupon sooner (it was expiring in about 25 days). She actually said, "Why on earth did you wait SO LONG?". I am not kidding. These folks are the worst example of how to FAIL using a daily deal site. Because they clearly don't have the staff and didn't budget staff hours appropriately to handle the expected increase in business and what will almost certainly be a crush of appointment requests the month or so before the deal expires, they have instead lost what could have been a customer for life. I'm sure I'm not the only person experiencing this. Pacific Ocean Laser Center is clearly not a well run business. They shouldn't ever run another daily deal again but if you see one from them, don't buy it. You'll most likely never be able to use it. read more

AWFUL business. Staff, service, and all of the above. I bought 4 IPL Photofacials w/ this place and it's a joke they are still open for business. The woman who did my IPLs was Ziba. Here's the breakdown of all my appointments: 1) 1 hour late! Said she couldn't help it and was making excuses rather than apologizing. Weak photofacial, there was no difference after the appointment or week after. 2) 45 minutes late. Said she was surprised this was happening again w/ me that she was late, apparently she's never late. 3) BURNED my forehead. Obnoxious on the phone and didn't help when I called so she was aware what happened. She could care less. THEN, pressured me into setting up my last appointment when I was not sure if my schedule next month. 4) Called to reschedule since I was not able to make it and and said too bad, we have a 24-hour-cancellation policy. You lose your last one, next time, pay attention. I hope this business closes down. What a bunch of unprofessional jerks. Yelp needs an option for zero stars! read more

Pacific Ocean Laser Center is something else! There is nothing "typical" or "standard" about this place. You feel as though you're at your family's office and everybody treats you as though they've known you for years. They not only take the time YOU need to work on you (as opposed to most other places that will only spend the window of time of your set appointment with you!) but will actually listen to any concerns or criticisms you may have and do their absolute best to make you feel comfortable! My significant other knows how I love the 'clear, flawless skin' you get from IPL so I was given a Groupon for IPL here. First off, there is a big tip jar in the treatment room, which I found off-putting since it is illegal for nurses to accept tips from patients in CA. But what was worse was that the treatment did absolutely nothing to improve my skin; even after all 4 visits my face look exactly the same as before. I have never experienced this lack of results from IPL before, and I won't be back. Not sure why some people mention the doctor in their reviews here - the doctor doesn't perform the laser procedures and you don't ever even get to consult with him. I should know better than to Groupon IPL. My first session went fine. Technician is very nice. There was little browning and flaking, but I attributed this to previous IPL's a few years ago. Second session, we did a different area, since my face was in pretty good shape. There are now white streaks up and down my arms from the burns left from the laser. Kind of haphazard placement. I imagine these will in time fade, but it's definitely not the most effective way to obtain the desired results. And yes, there is a tip jar, which I did find a little odd. read more

If I could give a ZERO, I would. The staff is so rude. I was inquiring about moving my second appointment because I had to rearrange my schedule. The lady I spoke with at the front desk literally told me she "DOESN'T KNOW" and that the best thing for me to do was "JUST TO COME." The first time I came in the office, they were not very welcoming. No one greeted me and I when I walked up to the window, the receptionists didn't even acknowledge me. I am very disappointed with the quality of customer service at this place. I purchased a package of Ipl facial treatments and now this is the second time that I have showed up and have ziba tell me my appointment was a different time then what was scheduled. I am extremely prompt when it comes to my schedule, and I know for a fact this was not an error on my end. Not only was I turned away when I showed up, they wouldn't reschedule my appointment and blamed me. This is why you never want to pay ahead for services here, they will literally dismiss your appointment and schedule a regular in your place at your cost. Side note: when I used the restroom inside this med spa there was what appeared to be human fecal matter smeared on the ground. Talk about disgusting. This place is unorganized, unsanitary, and not welcoming to new customers. I have been going to Ziba for years and have never been happier with IPL treatment than with her. I went to a different lasor hair removal center prior to coming here and was very dissatisfied with my results until my friend recommended me to Ziba. She is extremely helpful, honest and careful with her patients. She will never perform lasor treatment if she thinks you are too tan or if the hair has not grown back yet. Ziba E is the best in LA, fastest, and most effective for Indian skins for laser-based depilation, hands down. She's brisk in manner but actually very kind and extremely accommodating about payment methods, distance, traffic, and work time. Only thing is she's in on just Thurs/Fridays, so you do have to be very careful how you book, and there is occasionally some mixup between the center's front desk and her calendar. Let me start by saying that I woudn't say extreme acne problems, however! Being in the industry, it's frustrating when I end up with a huge zit right before an important meeting. After meeting with Dr. Rashti he suggested a skin care line that not only minimized the appearance and duration of said "zit" problems, but also improved the dryness and overall feeling of my skin (I'm probably not the only girl out there who gets frustrated with the flaky skin problem after using those caustic benzoyl products, am I right?) The IPL was a little scary at first after I read some of the potential harmful effects and negative reviews. I had a few concerns and almost backed out. The lady there assured me that with my skin type, this will work well. i felt comfortable enough to go thru with it. It stings a little, feels like getting hit by a rubber band. But I am happy I tried it. My skin glows after, and for the next 2 months I have more even and youthful skin tone. I never write reviews because I don't find the time usually. But, the treatment I received at Pacific Ocean Laser was so exceptionally unprofessional that I felt compelled to write this one and warn people to stay away from this place, particularly any treatment provided by Ziba. I have done IPLs before and am aware of the brown flaky spots that fade after about a week's time before experiencing the full effect. I had even done an IPL with Ziba once before and had mixed, but acceptable, results. The mixed aspect were burns and discoloration on the couple of spots on my chest, which I assumed were the result of thinner skin, and acceptable face results. During the second procedure, I explained that I wanted to her only work on my face and to use the same low setting so as to avoid any burning on my face. She insisted that the setting would show no results. To which I responded, I still don't want burns on my face so keep the setting. I know this sounds odd, but she laughed through the procedure. Perhaps she was making light of my insistence to avoid burns. I don't know, but it was disconcerting to say the least. Ultimately, she disregarded my instruction and proceeded to use a higher setting, which burned my face. The burns scabbed, browned, and left red marks on my cheek, upper lip, and chin. I thought this would go away within a a couple of weeks tops. I went out to purchase cortizone and aloe vera and diligently applied them twice daily. A month later, the discoloration and scarring were still there. I called the office three times explaining that I'd like to speak with Ziba to figure out a remedy to resolve this problem. Three times I was placed on hold for prolonged periods, given excuses about how busy Ziba was, and promised a return call. You may not be surprised to learn that I never received a return call. I did manage to get a refund from Groupon. But the refund will not come close to covering the cost of topical medication and professional skin treatment that I need to remedy the situation. I am considering my next steps, but for now (almost two months later with ongoing discoloration and scarring on my face) I am warning other would-be clients to STAY AWAY. read more

Facility is a bit worn and traffic on Wilshire Blvd. is a nightmare, especially during rush hours. Received my third IPL treatment and no noticeable change. Face looked great a few days after each treatment but goes back to usual condition. Ugh, those stubborn brown spots! BTW, if you consider IPL, recommend getting during off summer months. Can't do it tanned and you need to stay away from the sun a few days before and after. read more

I purchased the Groupon online last month for the IPL treatments. I have acne scars on my face and decided to try out with Pacific Ocean Laser Center. Overall, the the treatments went well and my scar is getting lighter and the skin surface is smoother without breakout. My Esthetician is Naz, she is been very patient and helpful to do my laser treatments and adjusting the right volume of light on to my face. I would recommend this place to my friends. read more

I first time here my experience was great I originally purchased 4 photo facials met with Ziba she looked at my skin and told me what I need to do to get the results that I wanted . I told her that I have done multiple photo facials I thought this is what I needed to do for my acne skin she explained that the photo facials did help. But there mainly for pigmentation or discoloration of skin and because of my past sessions I no longer needed photo facials because I don't have marks anymore. What I needed was a chemical peels she explained thats what will take the scars away. So I then reschedule my appointment and payed the difference .I just got my chemical peel done two day ago so I'm excited to see the results. Ziba is very knowledgeable in here field. I have been going to Ziba for laser hair removal since 2009. I did laser continuously for about a year and a half for my underarms, face, legs, arms, and bikini and literally have a couple hairs in each of these body parts now, flawless soft hairless skin!!! I used to have a lot of hair and now thanks to Ziba I have soft, clear beautiful skin. I was able to tan in between treatments and the laser Ziba uses it not that bs suction laser machine, this machine you actually see the hair get burned off from the root. Now I come in every 3-5 months for touch up on my face mostly (hormones cause my hair to come back on my face often sometimes) and here and there for my underarms and bikini. Ziba and pacific ocean laser center was the best investment I ever made for hairless, clean, silky soft skin. I don't like to write a review after only one visit ... So in this situation I actually saw Ziba several times before writing this .... And I have to admit: I love Ziba! As far as laser hair removal is concerned, she is the best in town!! When I first started with Ziba, I had significantly more hair than I have now. In my last two sessions with Ziba, she was able to laser my ENTIRE body within an hour!! She is so professional (doesn't waste her time) and very focused (she even uses a facialist's magnifying glass to make sure she doesn't miss anything). Plus, she is incredibly honest! Other laser places would insist that the more frequently I came in the better results I would get. However, Ziba taught me about the life cycle of hair development and she told me when to come in (which was NOT every 2 weeks as other laser places could insist) and she told me how to treat the hair in between treatments for the best results. Maybe the Dr. here is knowledgeable but the Dr. doesn't perform the IPL photo facials or have anything to do with "that side of the business" I was told. No one greeted me when I entered the office for my scheduled appointment. I was finally handed paperwork by a woman that never got off the phone or even said hello. Finally after a 20 minute wait, another woman came to walk me to the treatment room. She didn't say hello or tell me her name. I thought she was an office assistant taking me to the Dr. but it turns out she was going to perform the treatment.
