I purchased a Roland TrueVIS VG3-640 printer through Pacific Office Automation in November 2025 for my print shop in Fountain Hills, Arizona. As a print shop owner running production equipment daily, reliable training and service support are extremely important. Based on my experience since the purchase, the post-sale support has been very disappointing. The printer arrived with faulty printheads and dampers, which had to be replaced shortly after installation. While those parts were eventually swapped out, it was not the start I expected when purchasing a brand-new production printer. In light of these issues occurring immediately after installation, I requested in writing that the machine be replaced or the purchase refunded. That request was declined, and the approach taken was to replace the defective parts. During those discussions, it was also communicated to me that if I did not agree with that approach, the matter could be sent to their legal department for review, which I was told could take months to resolve. The training provided after installation was also very minimal. It was outsourced to a third-party technician who was polite and clearly trying to help, but the session mostly covered basic control panel functions rather than practical operational instruction for running the printer in a production environment. For a printer of this size and complexity, I expected hands-on training covering workflow, maintenance, troubleshooting, media setup, and daily operating best practices. That level of training was not provided, and we paid $1,400 for that "training." After installation, the sales representative who handled the deal was no longer available, and communication largely stopped. The most concerning issue came later when I contacted the company for assistance due to an error code and was informed that Pacific Office Automation does not service or support the Roland printers they sell. As a result, I was directed to submit support requests directly to Roland and wait for responses--some of which take days, and some never come--while trying to operate a working print shop. This information was communicated to me directly when I contacted the company for support. In my experience, when purchasing professional production equipment through a dealer, most business owners expect some level of ongoing service or support after the sale. That expectation was not met in this case. Because equipment like this is critical to operating a production print business, I expected a dealer relationship that included proper training and support. If Pacific Office Automation sells wide-format printers like the Roland VG3-640, customers should clearly confirm before purchase what service and support will actually be provided after installation. This was not disclosed during the sales process. I have since located another service provider who supports the printer, but the experience with the sales process, training, and post-sale support from Pacific Office Automation has been frustrating, to say the least. Based on my experience since purchasing the printer in November 2025, I would strongly encourage other business owners to confirm exactly who will provide service, training, and ongoing support before purchasing equipment through this company. In 2018 I needed an office printer and I reached out to a friend that was in sales training at POA to buy a machine. He came to my office and wrote up the contract with me. He told me, "I shouldnt even be doing this on my own yet but they are letting me because you are a friend." The contract seemed straight forward but not until recently did I notice that it was not. After the 5 year contract, you do not own the machine. They make you continue the contract if a certain box was not selected on the contract to begin with. Having a new trainee help me purchase, this box was not selected and I am still paying for this printer that I have been paying for over 5 years. The company overall is terrible and I do not suggest using them for anything at all. read more

Our business, Big 3 Automart, had been in good standing with POA for over 5 years. However, during the most recent contract renewal process we decided to part ways with POA. As a business, we were experiencing some logistical changes. This left us uncertain of our future needs. We requested a month-to-month contract until we could make that determination. This was rejected. We asked for an extension to make our decision. This was also rejected. The only options we were given was to renew the contract or return the equipment. Upon completion of the current contract, POA would automatically renew our contract at our current rate plus a 10% increase. After being excellent customers for 5 years we felt as though our business was not being valued and we were being forced into something. We cancelled the contract and returned the equipment. They do an excellent job of selling and a terrible job of delivering. They promise you the world - deliver nothing. Their price was not cheap, but then try to up sale you through hidden fees and more computer memory/storage I am trying to grow my business and I can personally thank POA for setting my business backwards. I have worked with PCO for about a year now. The service has been extraordinary! They must treat and pay their employees well. They are all upbeat, happy and extremely efficient. They provided our office with the best copier and service I've ever encountered in my entire career. For the volume and use all this machine ever needed was an occasional cleaning and toner refills. The on-site techs were super personable and treated us like we were V.I.P's. They showed up crazy quick on all our service calls. I could go on, but I'm pretty sure you got my point by now. When I worked at my former company in the Biltmore area, we switched to Pacific Office Automation because our machine at the time was worthless. They had incredibly competitive pricing, all the IT services to go with it and their customer service was impeccable. Not to mention the machine! Such a step up from what we had. Thunder Butler (how could you forget the name?) was our rep and he was so accommodating. He gave a great training on the machine - I feel like I basically built the copier myself - and their response to emails and phone calls and delivery on additional services was always on point. I highly recommend this company to EVERYONE! They carry every brand out there and there are so many options to choose from. Overall, use POA! My problems were certainly solved. read more

Things weren't great from the beginning. I was in a tight spot with a deadline and they had what I needed in stock but the price was really high. It didn't take long for them to become dismissive, out right lie about order shipments and blow me off after the lie was found out. I placed an order on Monday told them it was time sensitive it was shipped ground and not until Tuesday. I was also told that my whole order had shipped. One box came from Phoenix, one from California and half of the order was back ordered and that wasn't told me until 4 days after I placed my order. I would rather a company be honest and upfront about availability then lie to me. I will not use them again. I actually tried several times to find out what was going on and was only ever transferred to voice mails and never got a call back. read more

Well I am back for the update. I still have not received my bills in a timely manner, have had to ask for them again each month. Last person I spoke to said, "Oh, you want them at the same time each month?" Really........isn't that the way accounting in business should happen? Today I received a past due bill, went back through my invoices and showed where I had received the same invoice number, different amount and we paid in full. Best customer service in the business. I have worked with pacific office automation over the last few years. Melissa Berger and her team have always gone above and beyond from the time we started looking for new office equipment. She was listening to our company needs and not trying to put products in front of us that didn't work for us. The service hasn't stopped since we purchased our equipment we either hear from her or a technician will stop in to do a follow up on any question we have about our equipment. Order supplies and 24 hours later it's delivered which is impressive to me. My company recently switched to these folks and I wish they hadn't. After seeing two of the colors were low, I was being proactive and so I ordered new ones through this company. Yellow and cyan. I only received the cyan and I put it way for when the printer actually prompted me to change it. Last week, the printer prompted me to change it so I open the box and see that this toner is not the correct one for this printer so I now cannot use my printer (still waiting for the yellow toner at this point as well). I call the parts Dept and no one answers. I call the Service Dept and they refer me to the parts Dept. I call parts again and it just rings and rings, not even the option to leave a voicemail. I call again on Friday and this time I get a voicemail so I leave a message with the pertinent information. I arrive to work today not having any news so I call parts again and I get the voicemail again, I leave another message. Then I decide to call service (since a live person answers that line) and before I could explain the situation, as soon as they hear the word toner, they transfer me to parts. I didn't want to leave another message. I wanted to talk to someone to have my problem solved! Isn't that their slogan? I call service again and tell her I didn't want to be transferred and this time she places me on hold and the parts guy actually answers... With an attitude. I said I needed the toner bla bla and he said oh yes I placed the order. How do I know I will get the correct one this time? He says, well I gave them the printer's information so you shouldn't get the incorrect one this time. I said so how is that different than last time? (I'm guessing you always give the printers info to know which toner it is, right?). His answer, I don't know. Anyway, if you're in customer service, don't have an attitude and do your job. It's your fault I can't use my printer. read more

After posting a negative review on Yelp, the company did send a representative with toner and instructions to just call him next time. Otherwise my toner would still not got here until Tuesday. I feel a little better, but as a process oriented person I'd much rather have a process that works then have to circumvent it to get to the right person. They should take ownership, imo. read more
