If you like to meditate and dont need medication then good if you need meds, (even non opioid meds) then avoid at all costs.

I'm very happy with Dr. Kuang. Professional and gets to the issue of your pain. I'm grateful.read more

The fact that it is a pain management office so no one would take anyone seriously is what keeps me…read moreand I'm sure everyone else from filing a medical malpractice claim. Dr. Kuang is a meek sad little manchild that hides behind his staff that do the dirty work and clean up his messes. I was a patient for 4 years and never had consistent care because they cycled me through a different NP every couple of months. And every new NP had a different plan for me. I was finally pressured into injections and reluctantly agreed because if I didn't, they would no longer give me my medication. Which honestly , was the one thing that worked for me as long as I didn't take it daily. They changed my medication and then drug tested me and saw my old medication on my drug test so they marked me as abusing my meds and threatened to cancel me as a patient. Another drug test showed nothing in my system because again, I wasn't trying to be hooked on it so I didn't take it daily so they accused me of abusing my medication .They never respond when you leave several messages and treat you like a drug seeker or addict from day one. No matter what your situation is. They are not healthcare workers and doctors. They have no empathy or care for the patients they are supposed to be helping. They redefined their job to keep getting more money by bringing in more patients and then removing the ones that won't follow their rules and keeping the ones that agree to everything. They don't want you to informed. They want you to be compliant. I was talked into a second round of injections and this time, I couldn't walk directly after. They wheeled me out of the office so fast after anesthesia and then refused to answer my calls and questions until my follow up appointment 2 weeks later. I still had shooting pain down my legs and was in more pain than when I originally went in. When I finally had my appointment, it wasn't even with the doctor. It was with the nasty, rude, pathetic NP, Erika, that knew nothing about me or my case. She got on the call and immediately started grilling me until she got a negative reaction so she could have an excuse to drop me as a patient . She refused to refill my medication or let me speak with my doctor until I came to do a drug test within 2 hours which, I could not....I have a full time job working with special needs kids that I cannot just leave. So she hung up on me. And dropped me as a patient. I had to go to the office on my day off to find out that they would no longer see me as a patient and that they could call the police if they had to. WILD. There are so many additional things that I personally dealt with, but please, take a few minutes and read through other patients reviews. They are all accurate. We have all been treated like shit for being in pain. And unfortunately, taking any pain doctor to court will just result in being called a drug seeker and losing our money. And the drs. all know this. so they continue to treat people like crap becausej they can. If you feel like you wanna call a lawyer, do it!

After a few months, the injury didn't recover and decided to try acupuncture as an alternative vs. potential surgery. Through sessions with Dr. Galen Wilson of acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, soft tissue release maneuvers and rehabilitative exercises, my injury has recovered. Dr. Wilson also provided routine exercises that I now use to regain strength and to maintain flexibility moving forward. Dr. Wilson is thorough with his approach at each session, by questioning and understanding how my injury has progressed and adjusting each treatment appropriately towards final recovery. Based on my experience I would highly recommend Dr. Galen Wilson and am thankful for helping my recovery.

Galen is a wonderful practitioner, whose patience and presence is felt during treatments. It has been so awesome to both witness experience his growth over time as well -- he has taken extensive continued education to specialize in orthopedic style treatments for pain/injury/sports therapy, and the specialized training has provided him with a noticeably enhanced foundation of knowledge and expertise in the pain management arena. I would particularly recommend him for these styles of treatment, though I have had great results in the other aforementioned areas as well. As a bonus, his practice space and treatment rooms are beautiful and very clean! I have seen many acupuncturists in our area, have previously managed a practice, and have as well done consulting for various practices -- I am consistently impressed with Galen's professionalism, quality of treatments, friendly demeanor. 10 out of 10 recommend Galen Wilson Acupuncture SLO!!

I don't like leaving negative reviews, but the pain management office in SLO is AWFUL!!! I have…read moregone in for urine tests and gotten calls demanding that I go for a retest that Morphine showed up in my urine, and I hadn't had any morphine at all!!! I have called about problems and never received calls back, I've been ordered down to their SLO office even though I informed them that it isn't a good time for me to go down that I was in terrible pain. I have been accused of shopping doctors to get extra pain medication. When I tried to explain that the previous Nurse Practitioner told me that I was no longer a patient with them and I was on my own, the NP that called me and snarled that she knew all about it (which she didn't). I was treated like a 5 year old that couldn't handle medication on their own and was put on a schedule of getting my medication every two weeks. My dosage was also cut enormously so I was at the point that all I could do is sit in my chair and hurt. As for seeing a doctor????? What doctor????? I was with the SLO pain clinic for over 3 years and I don't remember EVER seeing a doctor. I was beginning to believe that they don't exist!!!! I had left a bunch of paperwork and a note about the first NP, and stated I wanted the paperwork back, and it didn't arrive. They either kept it or destroyed it. I really can't find one good thing to say about this pain clinic. I don't expect to be handled like royalty, but I sure don't expect to be treated like the village idiot and something that crawled out of the septic tank either. As it is I am treated more like a pile of dog sh*t that the NP stepped in while wearing her brand new Parada shoes than a patient that needed some understanding with a touch of compassion. I was only a pay check to her and nothing more. I lucked out today, I spoke to my Nurse Practitioner, (I refer to her as a Nurse PITA) and they are dismissing me from their practice...that was after I vented my spleen and told her that the clinic was fired-GOOD BYE!!!! I am not about to grovel and have someone who doesn't know my pain issues pull the strings on my life and pain and not listen to what's going on with them. When I told her today that I had fallen and possibly refractured my ankle, she asked the intelligent question "Are you walking on it?" Duh! How does one get to the bathroom? I have to admit that my Christmas is made with my getting rid of the SLO Pain Clinic. It is no more a pain clinic than I am a Astronaut! If you're considering them, think twice, they don't give a damn for the patient, just the pay check!!!!

They don't answer their phones and no matter how many messages you leave, they don't call back. He simply doesn't care. If he were the last doctor on earth I wouldn't go to him. I left nine messages on the voice mail of some possibly fictitious office manager named Mayra, each time saying I was in terrible pain, couldn't sleep or sit down, and I'm still waiting for her to return my phone calls. It's been two months and she hasn't returned my calls. I'm waiting for my appointment with a different doctor. Go somewhere else.
