The massage that I received worked on a lot of areas that were tight and I walked out of there so happy. I seriously almost cried. It feels so much better. I will be a returning customer for sure. The site is very clean and the staff is very nice. Can't say enough positive things.

I was not asked about injuries, medical history, areas to avoid, or consent preferences. Within the first few seconds of the session, the therapist began applying very aggressive, deep pressure with no warm-up strokes. Only after already working on me intensely did she ask what kind of pressure I wanted. I said "medium." While actively massaging me, she began attempting to upsell me to a higher-priced "therapeutic" massage and repeatedly stated that "relaxation will not help you." I had already booked a relaxation massage. I clearly told her that I was carrying significant grief, including the death of my father, and that I was specifically seeking a gentle, soothing experience for my mental health. I explained that I did not want deep tissue work. Despite this, she continued with very firm, painful pressure and stated that she was "here to help" and that relaxation would not be sufficient. Throughout the session, I repeatedly communicated that the pressure was too firm. I used phrases such as "that's tender," "that's sore," and "that's too firm." When I identified areas as painful, she would return to those same spots with deep pressure rather than easing up. She would ask, "Is that better?" and I would say yes simply to get her to move on from areas that were extremely painful. I was not experiencing relief -- I was trying to endure the session. I understand that massage can sometimes be uncomfortable, and I am not new to massage. I was very specifically not seeking deep tissue work during this appointment. It became clear to me that what I wanted, what I booked, and what I paid for did not matter. She chose to focus on tender areas and overwork them despite my requests. At one point she performed a very deep stretch on my arm that went too far, causing my body to involuntarily spasm. I had to ask her to stop because it was extremely painful. In response, she said things like, "You're so young, you can't raise your arms?" and implied that it was difficult because my body was "heavy." The comments strongly suggested that my body size was the reason for the difficulty, which felt body-shaming and inappropriate. During the session I became visibly and audibly distressed. I was fully crying and clearly in pain. Despite this, the massage continued with aggressive pressure. Later, while I was trying to compose myself, she asked, "Are you scared of me?" Regardless of intent, this comment felt inappropriate in the context of the distress I had already expressed. There were also issues with positioning and draping. The face rest was removed at one point to work on my neck and was not immediately replaced when she moved on, leaving my head unsupported for a period of time. Portions of my body were not consistently re-draped after she moved to different areas. I wanted to end the session early, but I felt overwhelmed and froze rather than feeling able to get up and leave. I left physically sore, emotionally shaken, and deeply disrespected. While some soreness can occur after massage, this experience was not therapeutic or restorative. I would not recommend this facility to anyone seeking consent-based or, relaxation-focused massage.

9/23/24 Yesterday…read morewhile sightseeing, I noticed this establishment while driving down Bothell Way NE.   The business look like it was very new, but it's location is what stood out to me.  A renamed business right by Bothell Way NE Highway with a view of Lake Washington behind the fenced parking lot. Parking did not look like its a problem. There were at least 9  or 10 spaces for parking. This is what I saw in the few seconds I had to look and see while driving past it. Upon looking up this place on Yelp and Google, I saw the time the place closes is off by half an hour.  Yelp says they close 9:30pm while Google says they close at 10pm. Prices for the types of massage are listed nowhere. I Called and received some answers to the questions. Communication was hard to follow and so was their patience on answering the questions. Nevertheless... 30 mins=$40 60 mins=$60 Four Hands 30mins=$100  60mins=$120 Body Scrub/Table Shower= Not Available Now. Massage Styles: Thai Massage Swedish Walk On Back If there are other styles of massage they do, they did not want to talk anymore.  Keep this in mind should you come here.  Walkins are welcome, but calling ahead might be better. Hope this helps. Oh, by the way. When i called back about the Four Hands Massage, I received a different answer to the first woman I spoke too. There could be a bait and switch scam going on.

Although the staff here can vary in skill level, I have never left feeling disappointed. In fact, most of the time I am delighted with the service. Special kudos to Lee and to Nina. I like that I get a full hour treatment rather than 50 minutes, and that I don't have to undress and then feel sticky afterwards because of massage oil or lotion. I get to choose the intensity level and speed of the service. And I particularly enjoy the uniform structure of the massage. I like to go just before I have Chiropractic treatment because the adjustments are so much easier. Maybe best of all, I can go anytime, when I am most in need of a massage. Fair warning -- they do not speak English.

I was a little sad to find out that some of the therapists I used to go to are no longer at this location: Mark, Andy, Peter, Owen, and even Tun (the shorter guy with glasseswho was always so warm and welcoming but I never had a massage with him). He always made sure to greet and acknowledge me whenever I visited, which was something I appreciated. Thankfully, David (the tall guy) is still here! It was great to see a familiar face. He has always been one of my go-to therapists since -- he understands the pressure I need and consistently delivers a great massage. Today, I came back again and David wasn't available, so I tried Tao (I believe that was his name). He did a good job and I enjoyed the session. One thing I noticed though -- the therapist photos and names displayed on the monitor seem outdated. I think keeping those updated would be helpful not only for security reasons but also for regular clients who come back and want to recognize their preferred therapists. One area that could use improvement is the air circulation. Since summer is here, the room felt quite warm, and during the later part of my massage, I found it a little difficult to breathe comfortably. Overall, I'm still happy to come back to The Relaxing Station. I appreciate the therapists who have taken care of me over the years and hope the facility continues improving so returning clients can continue having a great experience. The rating is for the poor air circulation I experienced today.
