I've been coming here for over a year now, for monthly massage therapy. I couldn't be happier! My job takes a toll on my muscles and if I didn't have the care I do here, I'd be in constant pain. I've seen a lot of the therapists here but Alyssa is my favorite by far! She listens to what you are looking for (if your shoulders have been stiff, or if you want a relaxing massage that day), she's really strong, and very skilled at making knotty muscles behave! I love that I can ask her for the sciencey-answer to what she's doing or what muscles are locked up; it empowers me to learn more about my body and how to care for it afterwards! The spa itself offers convenient online booking, it's very clean and peaceful (and looks down onto the ocean!), and their customer service is top notch. I use their Wellness Plan option, which offers a year of monthly massage appointments for a slight discount. Love it!! I hope this place stays here forever. And the fact that it's right beside the ocean means that if you want to continue relaxing after your massage, you can just walk downstairs and sit on the beach. read more

Hmmmm. Since baby was born I have not had a chance to do anything for myself. Baby is now 9 months and my husband generously purchased a surprise facial & massage. I left pretty disappointed. 5 Stars facial -- The facial was awesome. The esthetician was so sweet and bubbly. She explained what was going to happen and her positive energy alone was 5+++ Stars. I would go back solely for future facials with her :) The massage: it was by a girl named Jennifer. After reading the reviews I'm saddens that I got a newbie vs. Marisa. It was the worst massage I have ever gotten. When the masseuse came in to meet me after I had spoken to the esthetician she was not warm - and bland. I told her I wanted deep tissue & to not be gentle. It started off ok, but as she got further along I thought "did I pay for a massage or merely to be inadequately rubbed with lotion". You know the massage isn't great when you're left laying there wondering when it's going to be over and it feeling like it's taking forever. I have had better relief when getting out of a long shower. Total disappointment ... :( read more

Started going to Elemental Massage about 3 months ago and have had Marisa each time. She is wonderful and very good. The first couple of times had just general massage and felt great afterwards. Lately she has worked on some of my problem spots and also felt great. For me she has been giving massage with Hawaiian influence! The location is also great, and an outstanding view! Marissa is AMAZING! I moved back to Edmonds after living abroad and desperately wanted to find someone locally that did Lomi Lomi. Marissa is professional and warm; you don't feel like you need to leave or hurry out after a massage. I have several existing back injuries and each time I leave, my back is relaxed and I feel new! I highly recommend Elemental Massage. I've been going here for about a year. The location is perfect, right on the Edmonds waterfront. It's a very peaceful and relaxing place. I've had deep tissue massage from several therapists and they have all been great. Recently I have seen Jennifer and I love all of the different modalities she employs. It's a spiritual experience as well as a wonderful massage. It's magical, really. I've also really enjoyed massage therapy from Robyn. I'm on the wellness plan so I get to enjoy a massage every month from Elemental Massage, and it's all prepaid so no need to deal with payment during your session. In Hawaii I experienced the Lomi Lomi style massage & LOVED it. When I saw the Elemental Massage sandwich board sign while on my walk in Edmonds, it said they offer Lomi Lomi massage! Marissa is awesome at it, smooth, flowing, any pressure you like, she makes my body feel like a noodle when she is finished, so relaxing. After searching for a while for a descent massage therapist, I think I found the place. I have nothing but great things to say about J Linn, and I was really happy with her treatment. For the most part, I've found that therapists are way too rough on me and I end up feeling worse then when I came in. J Linn was the perfect balance of treatment and relaxation and I left the office feeling like I was floating. At no point did I feel like I had to tell her to stop because I was in pain, and yet I also didn't feel like she was going "easy" on me. I am an LMP, so i kinda know a thing or two about massage. And i will say that I am very, VERY critical when it comes to massage. I was very impressed with the greeting that I received when I arrived. I was handed the typical intake form and a form about their membership program. That was the only time they talked about the membership program. I liked the fact that i wasnt being "sold" something. My therapist was Anthony, his bio was not yet in the "Meet our Therapist" book, so i knew nothing about him. But I will say that he gives a great massage. I like deep tissue, and that is what I got. I told him about my problem areas and that is where he focused. I left out of there with no more pain and much more relaxed. Take them up on their Yelp deal, It is very well worth the money. The membership program is very reasonable too, I am considering it myself. read more

Marissa is an excellent massage therapist. Before I found her, I typically preferred male massage therapists for their strong hands during deep tissue massage, but Marissa is just as strong. She is also extremely knowledgeable about the body and how to help with particular ailments. She will listen to you and make adjustments too. And the view from her massage room is amazing! I had a facial yesterday with Colleen and not only was the experience blissful but i also came home with a great sunscreen that doesn't give my skin that chalky sheen! I am writing a follow up to my prior review of Elemental and specifically their esthetician Colleen. As I mentioned in a prior post I had been receiving facials for 5 years with another clinician who moved out of state. I learned from my prior esthetician the value of regular skin care. I am over 55. My skin looks great which I attribute in large part to my regularly scheduled facials, and home regimen. I have been to see Colleen now many times, and I will continue to return. She uses great products, some of which I have added to my skin care routine. We always have a dialogue about the products and my skin. I leave with great looking skin, and because I go regularly to see her, I feel I am able to maintain healthy appearing skin until the next appointment. I am not an expert but I do feel that good skin requires regular treatment, especially at my age. At least it does for me. I would encourage any women over 50 to go see Colleen and obtain a facial focusing on an anti - aging protocol. Don't just go once. Get to know your esthetician and make a regular appointment, even if every other month. Your skin will thank you. Thank you Colleen for helping me look my best. read more

I went in for 60min massage because my neck has been hurting so much from sitting in front of the computer for work. I had Heidi and she was friendly. She knew what she was doing; my neck feels way better now. One thing I wish I got from the service was the details to the service afterward. I like to know "what was happening to my neck, what she did, etc.etc." I didn't get any of that so that was a bit disappointing. read more

I love everything about Elemental Massage Therapy! I started going to see Marisa a little over 3 years ago when I injured my lower back. It was important that I found a masseuse that knew what he/she was doing and also took insurance. I appreciated her knowledge of my injury and warmed to her right away. Every time I walk into the massage area I am transported to a place without stress. The view from her window is beautiful and I am able to thoroughly relax. I have fallen asleep on her table multiple times. My favorite is the Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage. When I moved from Edmonds I searched for a masseuse and was not able to find one that I connected with, thus I make the trek from Seattle to Edmonds every few weeks just to get a massage. Update: Since my last review, both of the people I saw (Jennifer and Robyn) are gone. Turnover strikes again. It's still a great location but knowing at least two great massage therapists were gone in less than a year makes me wonder about the person/people who run the place. They can't keep good employees--my husband warned me about that before I went as he had the same experience before me. Massages are personal and finding a good fit in a therapist is important. It's so frustrating to have to continually try new people. My 5-star review just dropped to a 3. It would have been lower if not for the actual physical space, location and ease of scheduling. I've been here twice so fare and both times neglected to tell me any sort of promotions they were having when booking. Nor would they adjust my sessions to honor promotions after booking. I had heard about elemental massage therapy from friends who had great experiences with massage, but I was interested in their skincare options. I booked an appointment with Colleen Reeves their esthetician and had a wonderful experience. After she gave me a careful skin analysis she recommended two options that would benefit my aging skin. I chose the oxygen facial and it was great. My skin felt totally rejuvenated. She also explained each step during the facial which I appreciate, because I like to know what is happening to my skin. I have had some nightmarish experiences with estheticians pushing products after the facial, but Colleen didn't do that. She prescribed skin care products but it was totally up to me if I wanted to purchase them or not. Overall it was a tremendous experience. I was also impressed by the tranquility of the environment itself. It was a beautiful facility! I will definitely book a return visit! read more

I had a 90 minute deep tissue massage. I could actually feel my musculoskeletal structure as Heidi worked on me. She got into all of the nooks and crannies, and worked out all of those nasty little knots and kinks that don't want to let go! The tendons around my joints feel *so* much better, and based on the way the tissue felt in my ankle she even pinpointed that I might have a sprained ankle, which it turns out I do! Very professional! My only regret is I didn't get the 2 hour massage! read more

Marisa has magical hands. I have an injury that caused me to live in a hospital for quite a while and have intensive physical therapy. Marisa's treatment put me at ease and her methods and massage gave me a greater range of motion than I had had pre-accident. I also left her office with a much improved gait and a smile on my face.
