I should have known from the beginning, despite receiving a "confirmation" email for an "in person" appointment, the day of the appointment I was forced to reschedule or do a phone appointment. I went with the phone appointment, which I thought went well. But that was the only thing​ that did. After that I was completely ghosted. I was tasked to gather some documents and to reach back after I did. Phone calls and text messages went completely ignored for over a week. As a small business owner, it pains me to have to do this but it is what it is. Not sure what happened this year but absolutely horrible way to treat a client that has been coming to Gabi for years. Long story short- Multiple deadlines over months... Months!!... missed. She set these dates, not met. Then after tons of emails and having to show up once in person and having to ask over and over again for her to complete her work I was told I could take my business somewhere else since she wouldn't be in the office for another week. This year my paperwork was a bit different so I wanted to go to a professional. I've used Gabriela in the past and was satisfied with her service, so she was the first person I thought about. Yet this year was different and I'm disappointed in her service. I'm upset that I've trusted her and wasted my time turning to her for help. I reached out to her a day before July 15 (which is my fault since it's last minute) and I realized that I was supposed to get an additional W2 for another source of income, yet I wasn't aware because I thought that job was exempt. She replied to my emails and she filed an extension for me. After she sent that email, I replied simply asking her how long do I get the extension for - NO REPLY. Three weeks later I received my second W2. I sent her my first W2 again along with my new one - NO REPLY. I'm thinking maybe because of this pandemic she's probably busy so I waited another week to follow up - NO REPLY. I've called and left her a voice message just to see if she can call me back to let me know if she did file for that extension or not, and if she can't file my taxes it's okay just so I know that I can file it elsewhere - yet again NO CALLBACK. At this point I've given up. I don't know what's going on with her and her business but this is unprofessional. I understand we're in a pandemic and everyone is trying their best but she really didn't try anything. If she simply can't do it, be a professional and send a reply. Don't let people wait around for your reply. And now she has all my W2 personal information without doing any service for me. 'Til this day I still haven't got a reply. Pacific Tax Professionals was recommended to me by my brother-in-law. He had been coming here for years and mentioned that he worked with Gabriela who was pretty much a rock star. I am shocked by positive reviews. Gabriela was absolutely unprofessional and literally left me waiting for 9 months after initial contact and submission of my papers. She was vague and general with email communication as well as unresponsive at times. After 9 months I discovered she never even filed my taxes and exemption! I am perplexed as to her behavior. We used Gabriela Vargas for our 2012 and 2013 taxes. Last month ( October 2015) we received an adjustment for our taxes filed for 2012 based on a $3,394 mistake made by Gabriela. We contacted her by email and copied her on the additional charge's. We contacted our current accountant and she confirmed a mistake was made on our taxes. FOLLOW UP: Gabriela did contact us with apologies as she had a medical situation with a family member. She contacted and resubmitted new amended tax return and refunded her fee plus the interest we had to pay. She did follow up and we are awaiting a refund from California but we did have to pay the $3394. read more
