We decided to clean up the area so we could host an important family event, and our search led to Gio and his team. He responded quickly, and we discussed what we were looking for in re-purposing the rear 1/3 of our property. He described his vision and methods, and provided a very reasonable quote. We decided to move forward, and we left it up to him to provide and plant what was needed to create a perfect space that was both functional for entertainment and really pleasant to just relax and enjoy. Gio and his team did not disappoint. He met (and exceeded) our expectations, and stuck to the schedule and budget. And he didn't just create planter areas and new lawn, he also installed a paver walkway to match our existing patio stones. When he was finished with the original scope, he offered to maintain the rear yard to make sure our investment (and his hard work) would continue to look as good as the day he finished. He is not a typical "mow-blow-& go" gardening service. When he and his team arrive, they look around, see whatever needs care and attention, make everything right, and leave every inch of the yard neatly trimmed and clean. We are looking forward to asking Gio and his team to re-imagine and transform the side and front landscaped areas of our home. We can't recommend him enough.

If you know this area, you know how critical this work is... beyond curb appeal, proper brush clearance could be the difference between survival and destruction of our house and our community. Jose re-established our defensible space by trimming the canopy and hauling out a MASSIVE amount combustible material. The work was exemplary. Every detail we asked for was done with care and attention. We especially appreciated that the tree trimming was handled with an eye to aesthetics as well as safety. Not only that, The Gardener has very fair pricing! After so many disappointing experiences with other gardeners, we are glad to have found THE Gardener - a well-deserved moniker, indeed.

Mr. Carrillo showed up as scheduled, sent an estimate by email the next day and then he and his crew came at the date and time we agreed on and worked incredibly hard from 9 am to 6:30 pm on a very hot day. They had to break up hard, compacted dirt to install turf, repair an area of DG and put in a new border all the way around, remove sprinklers and check the drip system. When I looked the next day during daylight, I realized there were a few minor issues. I contacted him and he immediately came back to fix them. They did a great job and were professional throughout! Jonathan and team completely transformed our backyard in under a month. They installed a new lawn, TimberTech deck, native plants, irrigation and drainage, lighting, and tied our existing front-yard irrigation into the new system. The design process was easy and affordable, and Jonathan was on site every day. He was communicative, thoughtful, and paid attention to the little details throughout the project. The whole crew was great to have around and kept everything clean at the end of each day. They even did a thorough final cleanup of the windows and doors around the yard. What we appreciated most was that their care didn't stop once the project was finished. They came back to fix a faulty sprinkler head and later trenched along the grass by the deck when we realized skunks were trying to get underneath. We love how the backyard turned out and how much more we actually use the space now. We'd absolutely recommend Herencia and happily work with Jonathan and team again.
