I have two kids attending this facility, and I could not be happier about it. The teachers are amazing- they all focus on play-based learning, and Positive Discipline practices. There is routine, structure, and an overall embracing/welcoming atmosphere. From Center Time to field trips, I feel at ease knowing my children are in such great hands. The classrooms are spacious and orderly, the infant rooms require shoe covers for cleanliness, and there are different play areas outside that are age appropriate for the different age ranges. If kids get a booboo, parents are notified immediately. VCLC also regularly practices safety drills, such as fire & earthquake, etc, which also gives me peace of mind to know they are always prepared. The care and support the staff gives to the little ones is boundless! At the beginning of each month, we get a schedule and the month's theme which lets us know what the kids will be learning about. I have 3 kids and have tried several local preschools. We tried Children's World, Little Tree, and Magic Carousel (when it was open), but VCLC was the most impressive. All 3 of our kids went there. The teachers use ClassDojo, a communication app, where they send pictures of students throughout the day. The photos are so helpful in asking our young kids what they did at school and who they played with. They are very responsive if I ever need to ask a question or relay a message. They also do cute "parent and me" events for Mother's Day and Father's Day and more. We also loved their adorable Holiday pageants and they went all out for graduation. I also notice that teachers all seemed happy working there- which I know is a big issue at other schools where there is constant teacher turnover. Victoria runs a very clean and safe center with wonderful teachers. There are countless opportunities for the kids to learn and grow, with a large yard for them to play, a school garden, tons of arts and crafts, and themed days according to the month and season. I would highly recommend VCLC and don't often give 5 stars. I moved to Ventura two years ago and needed a safe place for my two children to grow and learn. The school offers so many amazing opportunities to see butterflies grow and released in their garden. Plant and harvest peas in the garden. Kids are free to run and play in a safe supportive, environment with clear rules. I like how the school sets a monthly calendar and plans teaching goals for each month. My two kids are kind, considerate and have helpful statements the school promotes to help friends. The Directors and Owner work hard to be inclusive and it's quite amazing what they've accomplished that are "extra" in 2023; graduation event in June, field trip to the Moxi, pony and farm animal day at VCLC, STEAM day in May, Cultural event day where families hosted booths based on their heritage. Happy one year to us! The time has flown by! My son started in the toddlers classroom & has now jumped over to the twos classroom with ease. Meeting Mrs. Victoria I can definitely say she has worked hard for what she's representing at VCLC; a safe & loving environment. For starters, they have an interactive parent app, which is the best way to communicate with my son's teacher, get reminders about special events & we receive pictures of his day with his friends. You really get a feel of what they're doing in the classroom; which is all age appropriate. My son has experienced a lot academically (thanks to his teachers) but overall, just amazing hands-on-activities a two year old should be involved in. I cannot speak highly enough about VCLC. Our daughter has been going there since she was three months old and we have always felt comfortable knowing she was receiving such great care from teachers and administrators who adore her. They have always been great about checking in on and following the feeding and sleep schedules we had especially that first year as they shift over time. Our two small children have been going to Ventura Children's Learning Center for over 4 months now. Our daughter is in the pre-school class and absolutely LOVEs her teachers. So much so that we couldn't bare to put her in a different pre-school when we moved and instead suffer through a long morning commute rather then switch pre-schools. Our son is in the pre-pre-school class and loves his teacher too. He is almost three and quite a handful. His teacher encourages him to sit next to her during circle time to help keep him on task and feeling comfortable. We also love how music is heavily integrated in the curriculum. Our kids love to sing the songs they learn at school and it's super Cute! This daycare is also very clean and well cared for! The director is there everyday and keeps an eye on the whole operation. She is also very friendly and make you feel very welcomed! One last thing! Once a month is parents night! That means you can pay a little extra that night for your kids to get to stay later for a movie popcorn pajama night and you can go on a date with your spouse/etc! This is a major bonus for us since we don't know anyone here and this is the only time we get to get out together. The kids love it too! VCLC was the charm. School director Victoria has the place organized like a well-oiled machine. Very secure facility. The teachers, including Ms. Diana, Ms. Shelby, and the rest of the staff were so patient and kind with my daughter. The curriculum was well paced. I knew instantly when we walked through the doors that VCLC was the right place for my 1.5 & 3.5 year old kids. The place is lively without being loud, the classrooms are bright and open and the staff & students look happy and engaged. We relocated on fairly short notice for a job opportunity and I needed to get my kids enrolled and acclimated into a new school right between Thanksgiving and Christmas (an already hectic time of the year). Victoria and Kat instantly understood our situation and did everything possible to help ease the kids' transition into a new school AND a new town. The monthly "Parent's Night Out" is an absolute life saver. My kids love going to school, but they absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE staying late and eating pizza in PJs while watching movies once a month (and, obviously, we LOVE LOVE LOVE the affordable, dependable date night!). My older child has enrolled in the optional soccer class and my younger child is constantly walking around the house singing songs from circle time. At school, the teachers know what they are supposed to do, so the kids feel confident, too. The kids are engaged, the teachers seem well supported, the administration team is quick to respond to any inquiries. We've been at VCLC for 9+ months now, and I still feel just as certain as I did when I first toured the school. Each of my kids has been advanced to the next classroom, so we have experience in the toddler, twos, preschool and pre-K classes. There is consistency across the entire school, but each class has its own feel. d This school understands and accommodates working parents! They send lots of reminders for the important stuff (like picture day) and when I forgot to send my daughter's lunch one day, they covered me. After some research and visiting multiple day care centers, we decided to enroll our kids at VCLC although the wait the list was six months. We were impressed from the moment we went to see the daycare first time. Miss Victoria, the owner, is very welcoming, caring, and excellent administrator. She is available all the times when needed. She made the center exactly how it should be. She is always available from the time kids are dropped off to picked up. My kids are actually excited to see her (and other teachers) everyday. All the teachers and staff are welcoming and extremely nice. The center communicates regularly with parents. Kids activities are updated via apps. Parents get calls when needed. Monthly activities are emailed with calendar. Usually the calendar is full of regular magic shows, dance classes, recitals, summer and winter holiday activities which keeps the kids very entertained, engaged and informed. Both of our kids are very happy. It's fun when they talk about their day. We are extremely happy to see our kids social and learning development. It's terrifying to let your baby go out into the world without you, but this is the place to do it. We started my son here just before he turned 2, after spending most of his life in pandemic lockdown with only his parents. My son's adjustment was a massive struggle. He acted out in almost every way possible for weeks. But the team at VCLC never batted an eye and never treated him with anything but love and kindness. The day he started smiling at drop off instead of sobbing, the staff cheered right along with me. They sent me the sweetest email saying it melts their hearts to see him finally opening up to them. My daughter loved being at school and learned to read and write her name and several basic sight words before she ever stepped foot in a kindergarten class. Hands down the BEST daycare/school. School president: I have high expectations and I am tough on reviews. I am also a no BS type of person and let me tell you- Ms Victoria the school president, does not mess around. There is no BS, no fluff. Nothing but honest truth and straight to the point. My type of person. She goes out of her way to make sure kids feel safe and ready to go to their class. Everyone has bad mornings, especially young kids- but she takes them under her wing and brings those smiles back to their faces then makes sure they are ready for the day before taking them to their class. Facility: I never worry about anyone just walking into this daycare because you can't- you have to be buzzed in first and if they don't recognize your face they go to the door. The security system in place brings me peace when I drop off my kids. Also the cleaning measures in place right now are amazing. I have no worries in a world full of constant worrying right now. There are different playground areas for different age groups and I love it. They also have a GARDEN! They teach the kids about gardening so young and it is amazing. Everyone should do this. Environment: I searched high and wide all over ventura county. The moment I set foot into this daycare I knew it was the one. My first born has been going for over 3 years and is now in Pre-K. I wanted to thank VCLC for all they did for my grandson, Luke B. He started at VCLC at 12 months. He definitely grew for the better at VCLC. We LOVE VCLC and it's been the perfect pre-school for our 2 kids! Our older one has since graduated but he loves coming back to visit his younger brother and his old teachers and staff. And, he is always welcomed with such graciousness! Ms. Victoria, the school director, is an incredible person and administrator. She has everything you want in a school director, she's kind, friendly, trustworthy, responsive, highly intelligent, and compassionate. She understands the demands of working parents and does her best to accommodate. And, she's at the school every day, all day. We couldn't be happier with the teachers and staff here. My little one has a hard time saying goodbye at drop-off so every day his teacher comes over to hold him and to make him happy before I leave.
