I asked the nurse why they had her in the ER for over 24 hours? supposedly it was bc she had to see a specialist. I told the nurse I needed to see a patient advocate immediately or I'm calling an ombudsman. Guess what?!?!?? The specialist was in my mom's room in 10 mins and she got a bed within the hour. As my mom's time in the hospital increased she unfortunately had to be intubated and was taken to the ICU. The ICU had the worst nurses!!!! The second shift was the worst. If I wasn't in the hospital the nurses were not cleaning her or moving her. Literally, everyone I arrived my mom was dirty. I had to request for them to clean her. I once was there and the nurse was letting her personal phone ring numerous times and her ringtone was ridiculously loud. My mom was intubated and would be awaken my the nurses ringtone and become uncomfortable. I asked the nurses if they could please lower her ringtone. The other nurses are like well it's not our phone. I asked if they could just press the button on the phone to quiet the ringer. When I went in my mother's room the nurse rudely closed my mom's hospital room door. Yes, my mom could close her room but all the other patients' doors were open and could hear the noise. However, it was late and I was the only visitor on the ICU, so the other patients had no one to advocate for them. Another issue was it took a nurse like 20 minutes to take blood from her. Then she realized she left my mom's IV on and had to retake blood from her. So, it took her another 20 minutes. Then, she had to get more blood she got blood from my mom's other arm. That took so long that her second sample of blood coagulated, so she had to redo her blood draw! Get this!!!! My mom extubated herself!!!! First of all my mom arms were supposed be restrained to keep her from doing this. So, the nurses in the ICU didn't realize didn't restrain her. So, if you hate your love one send them to this Kaiser to be tortured.

This hospital was a nightmare. My husband checked in to have tests done for DVT. They did an…read moreX-ray of his chest because he was also having difficulty breathing. He had a slight case of pneumonia and they started him on IV antibiotics. The woman who came in to draw blood was well into her senior years with a pronounced tremor. The result was that she couldn't hit a vein and stabbed around in his arm for several minutes. Supposedly, they called in a cardiologist because they were concerned about his heart rate. The cardiologist NEVER actually saw my husband. On Saturday, our primary care doctor, who had visited my husband each day, said he could go home. 3 hours later, the nurses were still busy bickering back and forth about who would actually work that day. We had asked several times how his discharge was going, but they waited 3 hours to tell us that this imaginary cardiologist had to come by and sign off on his discharge too. We then told them that cardiologist was NEVER hired as my husband's cardiologist, that my husband already has a cardiologist, and that this new one lied about actually seeing the patient. I actually had to threaten to call the police to have my husband released. Then the nurse shredded my husband's arm while removing the IV. In the pictures, it's the one that looks like raw hamburger. The other picture is his other arm where the earlier nurse bruised it so badly stabbing for a vein. For 2 entire days, another patient down the hall was screaming in pain. In my opinion, this hospital is a scam to rake in Medicare money. I wouldn't trust them to put a bandaid on a paper cut. Follow-up: The doctor left orders for them to call in a prescription for an antibiotic to our pharmacy. They said they had done it. They lied. We called the pharmacy the next day and they hadn't received anything. We called the hospital and they said "Call your doctor." We've been getting run in circles by them for another hour the day after he was discharged. If you value your life and wellness. Stay away from this place!

My mom and I were having a very difficult day, and from the moment Joshua greeted us, he made us feel safe, welcomed, and cared for. He kindly guided us to the front of the ER, and when it was time to leave, he personally helped my mom in her wheelchair all the way to our car. It wasn't just what he did...it was the genuine care and compassion he showed while doing it. His kindness, patience, and willingness to help lifted a heaviness I was carrying that day and reminded me how much simple acts of compassion can mean. Joshua went above and beyond his role, and his professionalism and empathy made a lasting impression on us. Garfield Hospital is fortunate to have someone like him representing the hospital. The waiting time for the doctor was less than 10 minutes, and once she was taken into the exam room and then into the laser room, everything was completed in about 15 minutes. Clean, well-furnished lobbies, waiting areas, and offices. They have a café called "refresh" and a small pharmacy in the lobby. Great views of the lake and mountains to the north. Parking garage is convenient to the lobby of the main facility. It is a very nice facility, and I would recommend it if you needed their services.

I've had a really positive experience with the physicians in this network - they are attentive,…read moretake their time, and genuinely listen. I've always felt well cared for during my appointments, which is something I really value. However, the communication system makes accessing that care much more difficult than it should be. Everything goes through a centralized call center, and it's extremely hard to get in direct contact with the clinic. If there's an issue, especially something time-sensitive like a prescription, it often turns into a frustrating process of leaving messages and waiting, sometimes up to a week, for a response. Also, the appointments are always up to three months out unless you're scheduling a follow up when in office, which is extremely frustrating. Because of this, I've found myself having to drive to the clinic in person (one time I drove back three times a day) just to resolve things that should be handled quickly over the phone. The quality of care from the providers is excellent, but the system around them creates unnecessary barriers. If the network could improve direct communication with individual clinics, the overall patient experience would be significantly better. I'm definitely calling my insurance to see if I can get into a better network.

I'd appreciate if they can give me a call back or have an online reservation system or Telehealth person I may see instead. To make your visit smooth, I'd come with a book while you wait. It's hard to book an appt because they won't answer the phone approximately 12-15 before or after their 2-hr lunch break. It's as if they work when they feel like it, not like they've bills to pay. Might as well do your best to be nice to your patients, not like we want to call or be here either. They also close early without notice so always come w/ an appt, if you can even get one. The nurse that helped me may have a case of ADD since she'd ask me the same question repeatedly, her eyes would keep darting out the door, & she'd converse w/ the other staff while I'm answering. Like, sis, I know you're bored but let me know when you're ready lol. I'd also bring evidence of your illness if there's any physical proof, otherwise you'd experience some pushback & leave feeling stupid, unheard, hopeless, & ashamed. You come in hoping to get your health needs met but leave feel like it was a waste of time & wished you'd never gone. I tend to be lenient since I understand how hard it is to work with patients & healthcare but my experience here has gotten worse over the years & I hardly need to visit.
