I closed my eyes for a second and fell right to sleep for an hour. The food at Pacioni's in Mount Vernon was so good, that I fell asleep quickly. Then at 7:54 p.m. I woke up all groggily. I looked at the time and thought, "Oh, no I am going to be late for work." I thought it was 7:54 a.m. the next morning. Lol. Sometimes that small nap just hits differently. Wrapped up at the hospital pretty late, did a Yelp search for a pizza, saw this place closing in 20 minutes. So, I called and asked if they could make a Hawaiian pizza before they close. They said, "Sure!" I was pretty close by and got there quickly enough to enjoy a wonderful porter on draft before my pizza finished. This restaurant has a lot of character and charm. We drove up to see the tulips and decided to stop in at the street fair. It was great to see all the crafts etc. but then the hunger pangs started and we decided to drop into Pacioni's for a late lunch. It wasn't too packed so we picked a seat close to the door. It was a cute cozy restaurant fitting for a small town. We were greeted by the server and she asked us if we wanted anything to drink. Looking at the menu we decided to order an app and a couple on entrees. My daughter loves spaghetti so I decided to order the spaghetti and meatballs, roasted garlic and focaccia bread, my hubby ordered the cobb salad with ranch and the tomato bisque. We got the focaccia bread with roasted garlic. The bread was really good, and I think it was fresh baked. It did need a bit of salt and the cheese was too big and kept falling off. maybe baked on a bit would help. Always love roasted garlic! mmm. The spaghetti and meatballs were good too. The meatballs were tasty! My hubby liked the tomato bisque but i found it to be on the sweeter side. All in all our meal was good. Quickly seated at a little bit before 3 pm...the reason was no one was here. Until we were greeted we didn't know if they were open for business. Water was brought quickly to the table. Order was taken and we waited maybe 15 minutes for the food. Tasted great-- 1/2 chicken salad panini and tomato basil soup was fantastic. Full vegetarian panini with a small side pasta salad was very good. Wife said she could have eaten an entire bowl of the pasta salad-yum. Classic rock music playing--is the best. The menu could have added a few more vegetarian and vegan options but otherwise there was a selection to choose from. One table with a group of 8 was taking up all the time of the one waiter with questions on nearly every menu item. Poor waiter. We will come back again read more

We were once again very impressed with Pacioni's Pizzeria. I kept hearing about how the pizza has changed, but I disagree, the pizza is still the best pizza in Mount Vernon by far. Great service as well, our two servers, one was being trained, were both very attentive. My Pizza was delicious, the crust is outstanding, and the sauce is unique and very tasty. My salad was fresh, the blue cheese dressing was probably homemade and really good, and the presentation was nice. The only negative part about the entire experience was the Christmas music in September, that was very annoying, I think someone finally changed the station. We will not wait another four years to return. read more

But I would't make the drive again for this. Again. It wasn't bad. It just also wasn't SOO GOOOD! Like I didn't remember to take a pic of the food. That says a lot for me to me. Self professed foodie... and no food pic. That's a thinker. I really like giving positive feedback and positive reviews. I would say this is a neutral review. Like I really WANT to give four stars... We've gone here a time or two, and just recently ordered on Uber Eats. It literally came looking like half of the food was missing, portion size was incredibly small for the . We put in a few special instructions due to allergies, and they were not followed, not to mention that items were completely missing. It was fairly expensive for very low quality, small portions, bland flavor, missing items and just overall not very good. Even when dining in, we were not impressed. The servers seemed fairly an experienced, and I'm not very interested to be working. Drinks took about 15 minutes, food again was not great and bland. Any time we drive through Mount Vernon we stop at Pacioni's. It's that good! ALERT: We checked in with the Yelp app and got 15% off our meal. Today we had the special Prix Fixe meal - Spaghetti Carbonara with Caesar salad and tiramisu. We also had the marinara meatball appetizer and an amazing calzone with mushroom, spinach and sausage. Everything came out hot and tasted great. Our server Elean was helpful and friendly. Parking was easy. Is it the cheapest pizza place in Mount Vernon? Probably not. Uhm.... super bummed. I don't know if they just don't care about their to go orders or if they are just ridiculously overpriced but I got a caesar salad for 14 dollars and it literally wasn't even the size of 1 head of lettuce. FOURTEEN DOLLARS FOR A SIDE SALAD. I added a photo to compare the size to my Amazon remote. Oh and 20 bucks for a TINY Margherita pizza?! There was nothing amazing about it. It had been a few years since I came here, and the experience got much better! They have great gf pizza (crust provided by Shambala) so we've come in for the lemon chicken pizza a couple of times and have had great results. Taylor was very helpful in steering us to food we would love--but, frankly, I am convinced that anything we ordered would have been exceptional! The Greek Salad was sooooo good--it was sufficiently packed with lovely tidbits that every bite was wonderful. It came with a thick and delicious balsamic vinegar dressing--only a little was actually needed, but it is always nice to have extra. Our pizza was the special of the day--misnamed in my opinion, as a mushroom pizza. While there were mushrooms on it, it was a marvelous compilation of lots of flavors, and the burrata was beyond stellar! I love a lovely burrata in all its forms, but this was perfectly heated to provide both a lovely, exquisite and extravagant melt along with some that was slightly firm so a perfect combination. And there was other lovely cheese to boot! Wonderful! Plus wonderful, wonderful crust! We were so happy. The Limoncello Mojito recommended by Taylor was fabulously flavorful. Not in a way that is the servers fault, she actually was very nice, sort of a top down thing. We found Pacioni's welcoming and relatively quiet, but it was also a weekday afternoon. We each chose an unusual pasta dish that we enjoyed. I was pleasantly surprised with Pacioni's. We showed up right a 4pm on Saturday 3/23 when the dinner menu takes effect. The plus was there was only one table occupied and that was it. The place is clean and set up well. The three of us occupied one of the booths. We received our menus and drinks promptly and while we were waiting to order a large birthday group started showing up. We were lucky enough to get our orders in ahead of the large group thankfully. I had the ragu on penne and it was fantastic. The ragu has roasted red peppers, sausage, sun dried and stewed tomatoes and some onion and parsley all mixed in a deeply flavored marinara. There were so many flavors working in it. I will definitely get it again. The portion was smaller than I would have liked but I added a Greek side salad. Mrs. BD loves Chicken Parm and she was happy with it. The chicken sits on a bed of Spinach Alfredo and topped with that deep marinara I told you about. My daughter had the lasagna. She liked it but I don't think it was worth $21.95. The portion was not equal to the price tag. It looked like lasagna soup to me. Smothered in sauce and cheese in a bowl. The service was prompt and the male server we had was personable. I did notice as our meal wore on the servers mostly gravitated over to the large group. I understand that to a point. The only time it was noticeable was between finishing our meals and ordering a desert, then the wait for the desert. We asked for the check when we ordered the desert because I did not want to wait until my birthday for the check. The place was getting full by the time we left so I was looking to make an exit. We had a decent visit and we will definitely be back. As a side note to Yelp I tried using a 15% off e coupon from the Yelp app for the check-in but the restaurant did not honor it. The food is not bad but..... been coming off and on for years and it's been in steady decline for years. It had been a while this time. The Cesar salad was pretty dry of dressing. And it cost $13! The prices are out of this world. Now I know nothing is cheap anymore but. A side Cesar for $13 a glass of soda was $5 even a kids. To add a topping to a kids small pizza was $4 a topping. Lasagna $30. This place is ok but not worthy of these prices. Waitstaff was great no reflection on them. It was hot and humid. We had our name on a waitlist for another restaurant but walked around the corner and found this place could seat right away. The place is spacious. No outdoor dining but they do have plexiglass up between booths, and staff is masked up. The food was just meh. It was edible but not great. Nothing spoke to me enough to want to come back again. Really, REALLY disappointed. We ate there a year or so ago and it was fine, but things have obviously changed: maybe it changed hands, or new management? They seem to be "economizing" with pretty much everything. No bread was offered. The portions were ridiculously small (like side salad size) and the prices were extremely high, especially given the mediocre quality of the food and the tiny portion size. The wine prices didn't seem too bad until I saw the size of the pour: microscopic. It cost over $100.00 for dinner for two (with only one drink (my partner drank only water). We left feeling both hungry and ripped-off. Never again. If you guys can't do better than that, just close the doors. We came for an early dinner so it wasn't crowded. Our server was the sweetest girl! So friendly! She was very attentive and responsive and anticipated any needs. The bruschetta appetizer was so amazingly delicious. Crispy bread, tons of basil and the glaze was perfect. I got chicken parmigiana and I was surprised that it was in a cream sauce but wow! I love their oven fired pizza! The crust is perfect, ingredients fresh. The pizza sauce is likely home made and not over applied and a perfect consistency. I've been to Pacioni's multiple times, and I like their pizzas. Their thin crust hand formed pizzas appeal to my tastebuds, and that is why I keep coming back. I especially like the Happy Greek and the Mad Greek. They are different enough that one of them usually appeals to my mood. On the most recent visit my wife and I decided that we wanted to share a large pizza, but we couldn't really agree what to get, but our server solved it by doing a 50/50 topping on the pie. Another great restaurant located perfectly in downtown Mount Vernon! Right on 1st Street and surrounded by quaint, small town charm Pacioni's serves up delicious Italian fare that will leave you full and satisfied! We went with one of their signature Neapolitan crust pizzas and loved every bite of it. The soft and chewy crust was made perfectly - a little crisp to the outside and sought on the inside. The sauce too was a great mix of spice and tang. For toppings, we went with one of our personal favorites - sausage and mushrooms. That seemed to be the right amount of toppings. I wouldn't go with too many more than three toppings, as the crust is thinner and a heavily loaded pizza would probably be too much for the crust to hold up to. They many other wonderful sounding Italian dishes on the menu, so if pizza isn't what you're craving you're sure to find something there that'll catch your fancy. The service too was very good and everyone was friendly. They even had live music that night, which was a pleasant surprise for a week night! We have eaten here many times over the last few years and I should note that sometimes it is fantastic, sometimes mediocre but the 1 star is because this is not the first time they have messed up and served me dairy. This is my second visit, about one year apart. Food was so-so, certainly nothing to rave about. The food is not worth the inflated prices. I ordered a half panini and Caesar salad combo for lunch. The sandwich was not pressed as a panini should be. Maybe they just cooked it on a flat top? The salad was ok, dressed appropriately but they used shredded cheese that seemed like it came out of jar form a local grocer, definitely not fresh shredded off a block. For the price I was disappointed. We were with a group of ten comprised of moms, kids and grandkids. Maybe that is a problem as the food came out over a nearly fifteen minute window. Sorry, but that is unacceptable. Service was sporadic. I had to ask several times for a water pitcher to be refilled so we could refill our own glasses. The wife said the Orzo salad as a side she got with her (unpressed) panini was bland and tasteless. I'd not go out of my way to eat here again. Weird, cause it says it's a "pizzeria" on here, and elsewhere, but going directly in off the street, the sign says "Pacioni's Italian Restaurant". We went for lunch. The drinks were good. My husband said his pasta and meatballs were ok. He said the meatballs were over cooked. My ensalada caprese was not good. Amazing that the caprese was served unsalted, nor offer of a peppering, and without olive oil! The tomatoes could have been fresher. The dish was served with toasted French bread under each of the 6-7 tomato slices, with a huge bowl of watery canola or vegetable oil mixed with balsamic vinegar. The huge bread slices are sure to allow skimping on the actual salad. The Buffalo mozzarella was cut into small quarters. jUSt super unhappy with the dish. After speaking to the waitress about it, she went back to the kitchen, and we could hear the cook in the back loudly saying, "Well, that's the oil I have--" something Like that. She brought me out a small ramekin of what she said was olive oil, but it was not great. The caprese salad is WAY overpriced and not an authentic rendition. So, we probably will not be coming back. However, maybe now they are focusing more on pizza? Since it is in the title now online? We may be back sometime to try the pizza, since the drinks were delicious. read more

We all have a weakness for pizza that's not chef's kiss good but also not that bad, and that's what I like about Pacioni's. The two best pizzas are plain cheese and the verde. Don't be tempted by the margherita because it is anything but. Always a long wait in the restaurant so call-in a large cheese to go and pickup a 2 liter of root beer on the way home and that's a perfect way to spend a Thursday night with the fam. Fair warning prices are pretty expensive for the area, but I understand the last couple of years have been especially hard for restaurants. read more

It was average: baby spinach leaves (looked like from those store bought large plastic tubs), and couscous with tiny bits of vegetables mixed in. Topped with a small amount of walnuts.
