We visited the restaurant on a Thursday evening and had 2 sets of Sunset special menu: veal Marsala and ravioli of the day (beef). The ravioli is okay. A little bit too salty to my taste. The veal Marsala have no taste or aroma of Marsala at all. This is one of our favorite dishes and we have not had this kind of experience anywhere else. To be honest, we could call "veal with sauce" rather than "veal Marsala". This is the reason I put which day we visited. Because I know some restaurants have different chef on specific days. The veal could be more tender. The inside is very nice though and it would be a good place for a date, etc. The service is also excellence. Just the food that is below expectations. None of the desserts in the menu is made in house, according to the answers from our waiter. Plenty of parking space in the parking lot. Convenience!

Absolutely amazing food. Love the layout of the place and the different regions of Italy within the restaurant. Tony our waiter was amazing on the service even at the end of the night when they were a half hour from closing. 10/10 will be back any time I'm near Mt.Vernon.

We celebrated our one-year anniversary here with my wife, and since it was also Mother's Day, the restaurant was extremely busy. Luckily, I booked a table a week in advance, though there was still a short wait before being seated. We started with the meatballs and house salad--the meatballs were especially flavorful and well seasoned. For mains, the spaghetti carbonara with added spicy sausage was excellent, and the portion size was huge. I ordered the gnocchi gorgonzola, which unfortunately leaned too salty and heavy for my taste. The homemade bread was a nice touch and added to the cozy, home-style feel of the restaurant. Despite the holiday crowd, service remained friendly and welcoming throughout. Overall, it felt like a warm neighborhood Italian spot, and we'd definitely come back again.

This has been one of my go to restaurants for a really long time. They always serve authentic Italian recipes cooked to perfection. Every server we've ever had has been really knowledgeable about the menu and the specials. If you want a really good date night vibe, you can book one of the more private rooms they have as well.

Ver cute restaurant. They have 3 rooms, one very large, one medium (seats about 30) and a small (seats 18). We were in the small room which feels almost like a private room. Extensive menu which included "sunset specials". Sunset specials included bruschetta and dessert. I had the veal parmigiana and the wife mushroom fettuccine. Everything was very good, very tasty and not salty. The panacotta for dessert was divine. Good food, great service, cozy setting. Nice place for an Italian dinner out.

We're originally from NY but let me tell you, Nonna Luisa Ristorante beats "the best," most well known Italian restaurants in and around NYC. Hands down. There's no way anyone could possibly leave this place feeling anything other than full, happy, and excited to come back. Like a true Italian family, Nonna's won't let anyone go hungry. We were planning on having dinner here one night but the ferry was late. By the time we pulled up it was already 30 minutes after they closed so we sat in our car parked across the street looking up what other places might still be open. The owner happened to be outside and shouts "Are you hungry?!" They had already cleared out for the night, there weren't people still sitting down eating. But he invited us in anyway. I would've expected our server Carmen to be annoyed because I'm sure she wanted to go home but instead she welcomed us in just like the owner did. We thanked her and apologized but she said "that's what we do here, we take care of people." They even gave us a free desert since we were celebrating a birthday. Come here because you're hungry, come here to celebrate, come here because you don't feel like cooking, come here because it's a random Wednesday... just come here.

We came for the flowers, but this little food truck parked at Tulip Valley Winery delivered the kind of meal that sticks with you. There's something magical about pairing genuine, well-crafted Italian food with a flight of local wines. Chef Alberto runs the whole operation himself cooking, serving, sharing stories, and making you feel like you've been invited to Sunday lunch at his family's table in Italy. His passion shows in every bite. I've had plenty of eggplant parm over the years, but this one? Best I've ever eaten. Served in a simple plastic container yet unforgettable perfectly balanced sauce pasta cooked just right, and eggplant that was tender and full of flavor. My husband ordered the chicken mushroom ravioli, and I was tempted to sample half of it. Big, pillowy pasta filled with rich, savory goodness an absolute win! We also split a Caesar salad (because veggie balance is important) and ended on a high note with tiramisu. It was airy, creamy, and just espresso kissed enough to keep you going back for another spoonful. We lingered on the patio glass of wine in hand, soaking up the scenery and wondering how a food truck in the middle of tulip country had turned into one of our favorite dining experiences in ages. The Stella Sopra truck travels between Bellingham and Mount Vernon. If you see it parked anywhere don't overthink it. Order whatever catches your eye. You'll definitely leave happy.

We started with the Pappardelle Al Ragu Di Cinghiale, which was quite tasty, though the pasta felt a smidge on the drier side. Unfortunately, the Osso Buco ($75) missed the mark immensely. The veal was overdone and notably fatty, and the saffron risotto was very dry; it desperately needed a sauce to pull the components together. At that price point, I expected a much more refined execution. It's a lovely place to sit and the staff are wonderful, but the main courses didn't live up to the premium cost. Edit: I'm surprised by this response. I took the time to highlight what your team does well--the service and the atmosphere were truly lovely. My feedback on the Osso Buco was meant to be constructive, especially given the high price point. It's disappointing that instead of addressing a kitchen consistency issue, the suggestion is simply to eat elsewhere. I'll certainly take that advice.

Despite the hospitality, the food did not really live up to expectations. I got the birria, and while it was okay, it definitely wasn't worth the price I paid. My girlfriend's scallop crudel was almost as pricey and it did not even fill her up. I believe the bill for our whole meal (including a mocktail) was over $80. I perused the menu on a large chalkboard and chose the Emmer Spaghetti and added the optional meatballs. While waiting for my meal I discovered that they might have cannolis! I asked about getting a cannoli and was told that they would need to see if there was enough ingredients for one. I was in luck and was able to order one! The spaghetti was very well prepared and cooked. I enjoyed the flavor of the sauce and the homemade pasta. The meatballs were the highlight in my opinion! The background music was playing "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang and there's a line that asks "what is your pleasure" and I thought "right now? This meatball and the spaghetti!" Then I was handed my cannoli and I was amazed at the flavors and textures! One end was dipped in chocolate chips and the other end in pistachio pieces ! They make the bread in house and it definitely shows in all the best ways. It was crusty, chewy and a great vessel for the meat.
