The food is priced like they have a Michelin star but it tastes more like a Michelin tire. 4 bucks for a soft drink 25 bucks for a small plate of over cooked noodles in sauce Paper napkins Inattentive service The only redeeming quality was the dessert, not anything special but $9 for a cobbler with ice cream is at least probably closer to the right price. We stopped in here after shopping at the local yarn store (Wild Fibers) because it came highly recommended. The service was good and the waitress was friendly. We ordered the Caprese as an appetizer while we waited for our calzones. We were reminded that the calzone times were about 20-30 minutes which we didn't mind and knew so we were shocked when they came out on half the time which was probably due to it being in between lunch and dinner. The crust was amazing and they were so flavorful. We couldn't eat all of our food because they were really filling. We ordered a cookie sundae too and it was delicious too. We will definitely stop in again next time we are in town because it was a great experience. read more

The food was amazing and our server was super nice and helpful. I loved the feel of the restaurant and can't wait to go back. Don't like to write a negative review but the last two times we have eaten here have been - disappointing. Service was mediocre - she didn't have the bottle of wine we ordered so, without asking, brought and opened another! We had to send it back. In general, their beverage offerings are mundane, somewhat puzzling considering all that is available locally. They give the impression that their buyer errs on the cheap side. Our 'Greek' salad had taste-free tomatoes, past-their-prime kalamatas and barely a teaspoon of a bland feta. Again, dissapointing. The pizza arrived with a toasted cardboard crust and again, taste-free tomatoes. We are unlikely to ever return having given them the benefit of the doubt on past performances. Okay, in the review I wrote over 4 years ago for this restaurant, I swore I would never go back. But what do you do when you are taking a friend out for his birthday and he chooses Pacioni's--yep, you go, even against your better judgement. Well, it is very sad that Pacioni's is even worse now (under the latest owners). Our server, who was in his 2nd week on the job, was lovely, tried very hard to please. BUT, the food was so poor, the wait so very long, and the delivery of one meal a good half hour after the others, that nothing the poor waiter did could make up for an outrageously expensive and outrageously bad meal! My quinoa salad had something rancid in it, so I sent it back. The pizzas were awful, embarrassingly so for a place with pizza in its name! The last one served, long after everyone had finished eating, must have been scraped from the back of the fridge with whatever was left over. This time I will stick to my resolution to never go back. read more

Ok, so I really was just going to just try and just not leave a review, but couldn't go to sleep in good conscience because the food was really terrible, and I would have liked to have been warned myself. We had the chicken piccata and lasagna, both were basically inedible, and with drink and 20% tip, it was like $75! The piccata was almost unrecognizable, so I actually had to ask the waitress if she brought the wrong dish out lol. The lasagna was like someone cut a piece out of a tray, smothered it in rubbery mozzarella and then threw it in the broiler. I didn't bother packing up the piccata and threw the lasagna out when I got home, like straight out of the car and into the bin out back lol. I wanted this time to be different, but no. I'm frankly surprised this place is still so busy. We had a reservation to celebrate a birthday and called to confirm. Arrived and no table (for 10) was ready nor could they find a reservation. To their credit, they asked a party of two to move and scooted two tables together so we were seated pretty quickly. The server tried, he did, but clearly he had no support from the kitchen or bar. Drinks didn't arrive, then arrived twice, then salads showed up after dinner, and a Caesar instead of House. The last item to arrive came after everyone else was done, and it was simply a half of a Reuben ... which was really about a ¼ size with a tiny piece of meat on the whole portion. This is our 6th or 7th visit and finally we can say it's our last. We'll order pizza to go - they definitely know how to do pizza! - but there are such better places in town. Afterthought: the server kindly provided an ice cream treat for the birthday girl, and plates and a knife for our cake. Another star for the kindness! read more

Pacioni's used to be the best dine-in Italian pizza in the area. Not so any more. The pizza size for large has shrunk and crust is dry-ish, not bubbly and tasty. The rest so-so. Tomato bisque soup is pale, tasteless and not what is used to be (a cup 11.00). Prices UP as everytwhere. Wow, what a gem! I was really jonesing for good pizza and cruised around Mount Vernon a number of times, looking for a place that wasn't Pizza Hut or Round Table. I found this place, finally found parking, and went in. I thought it might be a little high end, but it really wasn't. It was just very tastefully decorated. I was seated right away and the waitress was incredibly helpful, friendly, and responsive to me. Their beers looked amazing, but I just went with a soda, which was constantly kept full. Their menu is pure Italian, with mostly pizza and pizza-like foods, but I saw other selections. I chose to get a small pepperoni and sausage, with the oil sauce rather than marinara. I also got an order of cheese bread with marinara. The cheese bread was fabulous, though a little expensive for what you got. Basically....bread with cheese. For about seven bucks. But there was quite a bit of it and, as I said, it was quite good. The pizza was amazing. Fresh, thin crust...perfectly oiled, with a nice covering of cheese, pepperoni, and sausage. I loved all of it. I opted away from desert, but would have tried some if I wasn't so full. I definitely would love to go back here if I ended up back in the Mt. Vernon area. It was a little spendy for just me, with no alcohol drinks, but I did take half the food home and had it days later. It was just as good then. Though it takes a little effort to find, the pizza is excellent: light, not greasy, thin crust and fresh ingredients. The Romana Bianca was outstanding. Our waitress was super friendly and efficient. The restaurant was about 2/3 full and service was friendly. We ordered a pizza and a calzone. We waited and waited and our food finally came out at 8:45pm. We didn't complain or anything and were taken aback that there was no explanation or apologies for this taking such a long time. Tables around us arrived and finished eating before we even got our food. I work in a restaurant and totally understand that sometimes food gets forgotten etc. However, in these cases, the waitress is responsible for checking on the guests and ensuring that they are enjoying their experience. EYyye It's your boi, Steve the B, back at it again with another late night early morning mid-afternoon food review; so here's the scoop on Mount Vernon's very own Patch of Ownies. For a little bit of background, I was getting some early shopping done on Black Friday, I was eyeing this off-brand easy bake oven type thing, but unfortunately, my eye wasn't the only one caught. The entirety of Luka's loco gang was making their way towards the oven, I had an altercation with them over a similar situation during Valentine's day, and wasn't about to let them get the last easy bake oven. I grabbed it and darted for self-checkout, and as I made my way out of the store, the whole gang chased after me. I looked for a place to hide and ended up running into a local Italian place just down the street from the Lincoln. I sat down at the largest table they had, and ordered the Pesto Tortellini; thanks to the fantastic service, it was out to me in minutes. As I was about to dig in, the gang made their dramatic entrance, and as the boss, King Luka made his way towards my seat, I could think of only one thing to do; offer him a bite. His anger vanished and he ordered plates for everyone in the gang. That's what good food does, it brings people together, whether that's brother and sister, employee and coworker, or a huge mob of ruffians and an up and coming baker; Pacioni's works its magic on anyone. read more

3.5 stars. Family visit, first time here. 2:30pm on a Sunday so perhaps three tables being served, yet still the service sucked. Brought water bottles after we sat down but no glasses. We eventually had to ask. With kids, one expects at least some attention to them just to keep them happy. Maybe everything was cooked from scratch- which I could believe, since the food was all good - but even the lemonade could not be ordered quickly because the waitress disappeared for 5 minutes at a time on several occasions and we couldn't order anything. My wife and I split a calzone and I thought it was delicious. The caprese appetizer was excellent. My kids liked their meals. The kid pizza looked excellent, though I didn't try it. The iced tea was weak. Prices on the higher side but I'd come again and give the service a second chance. read more

My 12 yo daughter and I stopped for an early dinner on Sunday, 4/24. Pacioni's was recommended by a local merchant. The restaurant was busy (Tulip Festival Weekend in April), but there was no one waiting. There appeared to only be one server working when we arrived. She was servicing every table with grace and a smile. She was slammed. Soon another server arrived and we were seated. Patrons continued to file in one group after the other. The 2 servers & 2 kitchen staff were doing their best to keep up with demand. As a former server, I could tell it was a challenge. Although they were hoppin and some customers were a bit perturbed, the servers continued to remain calm and attentive as possible. I had to continually ask for water refills, which often never arrived. By the time our calzone and Pacioni's Style Chicken Piccata (a warm quinoa bowl) arrived we were SO hungry. The food was visually appealing & DELICIOUS! While the price was quite high: $25 Calzone, $26 Chicken Piccata, $8 Italian Soda. I would consider going back when in the area if our budget allows. For those that have a large discretionary income, enjoy good food in a quaint setting, this is a great place for yummy food. I've never been to this place. I heard about this place from a friend who said he went to school with the owner. He mentioned how wonderful it was and a must try. We walked in around 6:30pm was seated immediately. Sat down, ordered wine and Bruschetta. We were impressed by the presentation of the Bruschetta and also how good it was. Next we ordered from the dinner menu. Chicken Parmesan, chicken cordon bleu, chicken Marsala and by the way all of them came with a side salad. Salad was good the only thing I didn't like about it was that the croutons. They were fairly hard, I couldn't even eat a couple, couldn't break them with my teeth. After we waited for a little bit our meals came out. Not what I was expecting- all of our meals looked the same. Presentation was the same for each bowl. Chicken cordon bleu looked like a chicken pot pie, wasn't eaten, only the chicken on top, it was runny. The chicken parmesan was runny, almost like the flavor was watered down. My chicken Marsala was ok, but not my favorite, I didn't finish it. We were not very impressed by dinner. The waitress was very nice, my friend did ask for a refill on his drink a couple of times and he didn't receive it. My other friend was charged double for wine when he didn't receive it. Which at the end it was fixed. I do have to say that I've heard the pizza is very good and I would like to go back and try it. Like I said this was my first time there. Finally tracked down the server, who said it would be another 15-20 minutes. We cancelled our order. they brought us some soup we didn't order (=jarred pasta sauce in a bowl). We were passing thought the Skagit Valley and stopped at Pacioni for lunch. Everyone was very friendly and the food came out quickly. Its kind of like cheat day food. Hearty pizza, pasta, bread etc. though not as greasy as chain places which is nice. The pizza is chewy but not as soft as some neapolitan places. They were nice enough to let us do a split pizza because we can't make decision. Overall this place exceeded our expectations, we would return here to try other things maybe one day if we are in the area. read more

Pacioni's is solid! My wife and I recently visited this pizzeria in downtown Mount Vernon. We started with salads - she had the Caesar and I had the Greek. We both enjoyed them, but I believe that the Greek was our favorite. Both were very fresh. For our entree, we had the large Chef's Choice pizza (Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, Black Forest Ham and Mushrooms), and added Pineapple and Red Onions. The pizza was really good, and the crust was tasty. But adding toppings to a large pizza at Pacioni's is going to set you back $2.25 each. It is definitely NOT worth it to do so. We might have gotten 1-2 pieces of pineapple per slice. Anyway, our server was friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back; we just won't be adding toppings to our pizza. read more

Been here twice now, about 10-days apart. My review is mixed. I do like most of the food and love the service. But let's break it down a bit. Service so far has been above board, solid, good service. The waitstaff is on it, and very personable. Totally feel like they care, they provide good service, fast refills and are very respectful. Many restaurants should strive for this level of service. Food is a bit mixed, some very good, some ok, some meh. Best choices (pizza aside, have not tried) is the Chicken Parm and the Pesto Tortellini. Well crafted dish, unique twist, hot and flavorful. The Lasagne should be either removed from the menu or redesigned until they get it right. It's heated in a large bowl, so it's watery, lacking in flavor, and weak on the lasagna noodles, it's a watery mess. The edges are overcooked, noodles on top hard as a rock, cheese rock solid hard. For the upward price of $18 (without a salad or soup or anything), it's nothing one can justify buying. All the meals come with bread. It's supposed to be garlic toast, but again it's stale and hard. It's a flavored roof shingle. Not sure why since making garlic toast is beyond simple. There are enough bakeries within 1/4 mile to get better bread. No excuse here. Prices are very high considering the Pasta dishes come without meat, so if you order the Pesto Pasta, and you want any meat, be ready to toss another $4-$5, and if you want a side salad another $3-$4. Basically, if you want pasta with meat and a side salad you're at $30 a person before beverages. Only tried one dessert, and it was great, large enough to share. Very well done. You can see why I am mixed.. I would like to give it 3.5-Stars, but can't do that on Yelp, and giving it only 3-stars is unfair. 4-Stars is more than I should give it, but the solid wait staff, tips it that way, and due to a lack of better Italian around Mount Vernon, it gets a slight pass. In Seattle or any other large city with an Italian population, honestly, it would drop to a firm 2-3 stars for the food. It cannot compete with real Italian from Chicago or New York, not even close. Maybe it's time to re-look at the menu and reinvent some dishes. Will we go back, sure... it's a good meal and good service. Do we wish it was better, or a better value, you bet! If you want generic Italian with a Soup / Salad / Better Bread, and more for your money, hit up Olive Garden. First time to this Place. Ordered lasagna for myself My wife ordered a gluten free vegan Pizza. In short the lasagna was the worst I have ever eaten (tried to eat). Came in a bowl like soup and was not what I would expect for $27 I have had better frozen from Safeway. I sent it back. Most Italian restaurants offer some sort of bread with the meal Not here and had to ask for Parmesan to try and flavor it. My wife pizza came undercooked with a handful of uncooked onions just thrown on top. Ill keep looking for another Italian place to eat that was as good as Johnny Carrions that is now closed. read more

I was staying the night in Mt. Vernon and decided to have pizza. There was one place in Anacortes that sounded pretty promising, and this one. I decided on Pacioni's. It was the best pizza I have ever had. I don't eat pizza out often, so my only point of comparison is when some food aficionado friends in Portland took me to a pizza place they thought highly of in Portland. I liked Pacioni's considerably better than that one (named Ken's, by the way). What did I like: Well brace yourself it is pretty rich. As a calorie counter, I estimated the large Il Verde I got was 400 calories per slice or 3200 total. The crust is rich, obviously a lot of butter in it. But that is good, because it doesn't taste like a "rind", it is tasty just like the rest. There is lots of cheese. This particular variety had a pesto paste that was very tasty also. The crust was nice and thin as I prefer. I'm not sure what particular seasonings were in the pizza but they were just right. Not having gotten pizza at restaurants that often, it could be that a lot of cities have a place that makes pizza of this caliber. But what I am pretty confident of is that you won't find anything much better than Pacioni's when it comes to pizza. As far as service, I got it take out, it was about 7pm on a Wednesday and it took about 15 minutes. read more

We havent been Monday night, no corkage fee, in a long while....too hot during summer with no air cond. so we thought we would go back and give Eli's pizza, our favorite, $24 large....a try. Still yummy but something changed in the atmosphere......no music, waiters (2) seemed harried. Didnt seem like a team except when came to taking our money. Dirty wine glasses--one with lipstick. , different size very small saucers given to us for lg pizza slices. Had to ask for parmesan. We were in last booth by kitchen (we have to have some padding) but it felt like i was in supply closet with beat up Walls). Gave them the yelp 15% off coupon offered by their restaurant and they never seem to know what it is Or why....had to get approval first. Hmmmm. read more
