Luckily, I was only about a block from Paco's, so I walked over to see if they could help.

The kids' bikes are in the back right corner. Everything looks really nice and seems to be good quality. The service was excellent. All my questions were answered and they had my cruiser ready within 30 minutes. The parking lot is free to park in. The shop is wheelchair accessible. They have stairs and a ramp at the entrance, along with automatic doors. You can walk around the city while you're waiting for your bike. There's several cafes and restaurants within 5-10 minute walking distance. You could visit the State Capitol. Forewarning: You're going to pay, at minimum, $600 for an adult bike. Even a kid's bike starts at $350... If you need extra parts and accessories, I would recommend you buy them off of Amazon or somewhere cheaper. To give you an example: a tire pump here is over $100.

My hubby and I are not experienced or race at all but we still got a great deal on a base line bicycle which is perfect for our daily exercise ride. The employees were knowledgable and very helpful. I love the fact that they do repairs in house and it's in the midtown area so you can always drop off and walk around until your bike is ready for pick up.

I'm in my 20s now and know absolutely zilch about bikes. My chain snapped and I brought it into the bike kitchen. I paid $10 cash for the shop fee and immediately a volunteer helped me mount up my bike and get to work. He was so welcoming and fun to work with. We evaluated whether or not my chain was salvageable, and decided we should take a few links from a chain in the back, and add it to mine. It was only $3, and from there he taught me everything about repairing a chain. He was so nice and helpful, I used the tools and he kept watch to make sure I was doing it right. Sometimes that can be stressful, but he made sure it was a fun environment and we laughed almost the whole time. I could not recommend this place more. For them, its really just about the bikes. It felt amazing to fix it myself, and learn something about my bicycle. The volunteer also helped inspect my bike to make sure nothing else needed fixing. He explained it like, "you already paid the shop fee, lets see what else we can do". I hope I learn enough to volunteer here one day. Truly a 10/10 experience.

You may have heard the saying "you never forget how to ride a bike". Well, I (embarrassingly) am…read morethe exception to that rule. It's been a long time since I have ridden a bike, and getting back into the swing of things was quite a challenge for me. I just recently retired from my job and found myself with more leisure time to spend with myself and to even start getting into an exercising regimen. Since my BF started his own fitness program to lose weight and improve his health, I decided to join in a little at a time. That's when we brought out all the old bicycles and determine what we were going to commit to. During this time we found out maintenance was needed before we could comfortably get started. I looked up bike shops on Yelp and found The Greenhaven Bike Shop not too far from where we lived. While we were there, Joe K fell in love with one of their Trek models on display and for sale. He ended up making the purchase. He also got his racing bike repaired at the same time. We spent some educational time with the staff members who were extremely nice and patient with us even through a probable painstaking amount of question and answer sessions. They really know their stuff! Their fees are very reasonable too! Joe and I agreed that this shop will be our number one place to go for continued bike maintenance.

I went in to get my bike tuned up and tires changed because it was due time. I rode my bike once a week, love my bike, generally no issues at all. The initial quote was $225 for tune up and new tires change (me bringing the tires.) When Damien assessed the bike (the owner), he said there were some things wrong with my brakes and he wanted to bleed them and fix the brake wiring. I had no issues with my brakes whatsoever but he seemed honest at the time, so I agreed. The new quote was for $420 for fixing brakes, tune up, and new tires. Meanwhile my bike is in the shop 1 week now. $420 was very expensive to me, but I just went with his opinion. Fast forward, this guy Damien calls me again and says he found issues with my wheel and needs to redo some of the hardware on the rims, he literally over the phone told me it might be $30 more. I say fine whatever. Damien calls me to tell me the bike is done, this is two weeks now. And I go to pick it up. When I pick it up the bike was $610!!!!! This was absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. I argue with him because he never ever told me the price would be in the $600 range! I would have never agreed to that. I have to argue with him a little and he only takes the total down to $570! This bike shop is completely unprofessional. At what point would I approve $200 worth of fixing on rims? For my total to go from $420 to $610. Damien is completely dishonest, and never told me the costs and added so many unapproved costs. Why would I pay you $40 to clean my bike, I never asked you to do that yet you charged me for that! I will never bring my bike again to this place. The owner is a crook, the receipt does not lie!
