Just wanted to say thank you to Jeff and staff for their amazing customer service. Their team assembled my brand new bike out of the box. Did a great job. They are also a SE BMX Bike dealer now, they have a variety to choose from, they also have grips, tires, pads and pretty much everything you need to ride. I highly recommend bringing in the kids or picking up something for yourself. Thank you

Jeff and his team at Sutterville bicycle are amazing! I brought Jeff, my huffy Cranbrook, a box of miscellaneous parts and told him I needed a custom build done. He walked me through the whole process, broke down why things would work or not work on the bike and told me to expect a week for my bike to be built. Made the whole process so easy. Within three days, I had a phone call that my bike was ready to pick up and below is the results . I am beyond happy with my bike rides like butter and I can't think Sutterville bicycle enough!

I've been going to Sutterville Bicycle Company for years. They've managed to keep their doors open during the pandemic. The staff is very knowledgeable about bicycles and bicycle maintenance. The have an interesting variety of older bikes, 3-wheelers, tandems, and chopper bikes. Check out the picture! I've found a variety of parts and gotten some good repair advice from this shop. The prices are fair and service is good!

If your looking for a less pretentious less corporate old school bicycle shop then this is the place for you. They provide good solutions with a wealth of knowledge. If you're in the market for anything bike related, Don t pass this place up. Support local business and give a nod to Jeff Mike and Mykal

Practicing Safe Sales and Service and Doing it with Pizazz ... and Masks!! OK, hands down, this place is the best. Jeff is a wizard and a damn nice person (they are not always the same, examples include .... [fill in the blank]). His bike showroom, service, and repair shop is very user friendly for the most seasoned to the newest rider. Today (5/13/2020) during COVID shutdown, Jeff had the doors open and engaging safe social distancing (he was wearing a mask and all conversations and transactions were in the parking area in front of his shop-see pic). He must have made two dozen trips in and out of his shop to help me (an old clueless guy) and a super hip mom with very cool tattoos getting her daughter's bike (a very cute looking little tiny bike) tuned up and ready to go. Jeff answered my dumb questions with grace and good humor. He gave me great advice and helped me understand my clean-up and rehab project for my very old Bianchi. He brought out the parts I needed and explained which parts would be better for my project. If you look at Jeff's service/repair prices, Damn! ... you can tell he's doing this because he loves bikes and riders. I drove past many other bike shops to visit Jeff's Sutterville Bicycle Company, on my son's recommendation. My son was right. Jeff is fantastic! And I will be going there from now on. I hope you will do the same and support this wonderful local business! Jeff, it was nice to meet you today. Thanks for your help. I'll be back. ~ Tony

Ask the Community - Sutterville Bicycle Company

Do they do repairs on bicycle wheels if they were poped?

    Yes

Does anyone know if they are open during this time? I tried calling with no answer sadly.

They are, we were just there a few weeks ago. They're by appointment only. They just may take a minute to get back to you, they've been swamped.

During my lunch, I've been taking my bike to various bike shops around the midtown Sacramento area to browse around and ask general cycling questions or assistance with my bike if I feel like something doesn't feel right. Overall, my experience with various shops have been just okay. I would get the feeling that because I do not have an expensive bike, that I'm looked at differently. However, with Pacos, the staff here are EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. I brought my bike in with some concerns regarding my gears shifting, and Pancho took my bike onto the rack to inspect it. I was prepared to be given a diagnosis and perhaps a quote to see how much they would charge if I had them fix/adjust it for me. Instead, Pancho just took it upon himself to make these micro adjustments himself and even identified that my front derailleur was crooked and my front wheel was loose. Again, Pancho just made those adjustments himself to make sure everything was properly before I left the store. On top of that, I was not charged a dime. Totally unexpected, but highly appreciated! Fast forward to my second time coming to this shop, I was greeted by different staff. Yet, it was still the same high, friendly energy as the last time. Ayrton was there to assist and help me identify and issue I was having with my brakes. The way he spoke to me and went above and beyond to find answers he himself didn't know was much appreciated. Ayrton is a very friendly and outgoing guy and made sure I was taken care of before I left. The culture and energy of the staff here have been a fantastic experience and I highly recommend any cyclist to visit this store! Their inventory was impressive, the store is spacious and clean, and if I ever need cycling services, I am definitely coming back.

I'm in my 20s now and know absolutely zilch about bikes. My chain snapped and I brought it into the bike kitchen. I paid $10 cash for the shop fee and immediately a volunteer helped me mount up my bike and get to work. He was so welcoming and fun to work with. We evaluated whether or not my chain was salvageable, and decided we should take a few links from a chain in the back, and add it to mine. It was only $3, and from there he taught me everything about repairing a chain. He was so nice and helpful, I used the tools and he kept watch to make sure I was doing it right. Sometimes that can be stressful, but he made sure it was a fun environment and we laughed almost the whole time. I could not recommend this place more. For them, its really just about the bikes. It felt amazing to fix it myself, and learn something about my bicycle. The volunteer also helped inspect my bike to make sure nothing else needed fixing. He explained it like, "you already paid the shop fee, lets see what else we can do". I hope I learn enough to volunteer here one day. Truly a 10/10 experience.

I went in to get my bike tuned up and tires changed because it was due time. I rode my bike once a week, love my bike, generally no issues at all. The initial quote was $225 for tune up and new tires change (me bringing the tires.) When Damien assessed the bike (the owner), he said there were some things wrong with my brakes and he wanted to bleed them and fix the brake wiring. I had no issues with my brakes whatsoever but he seemed honest at the time, so I agreed. The new quote was for $420 for fixing brakes, tune up, and new tires. Meanwhile my bike is in the shop 1 week now. $420 was very expensive to me, but I just went with his opinion. Fast forward, this guy Damien calls me again and says he found issues with my wheel and needs to redo some of the hardware on the rims, he literally over the phone told me it might be $30 more. I say fine whatever. Damien calls me to tell me the bike is done, this is two weeks now. And I go to pick it up. When I pick it up the bike was $610!!!!! This was absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. I argue with him because he never ever told me the price would be in the $600 range! I would have never agreed to that. I have to argue with him a little and he only takes the total down to $570! This bike shop is completely unprofessional. At what point would I approve $200 worth of fixing on rims? For my total to go from $420 to $610. Damien is completely dishonest, and never told me the costs and added so many unapproved costs. Why would I pay you $40 to clean my bike, I never asked you to do that yet you charged me for that! I will never bring my bike again to this place. The owner is a crook, the receipt does not lie!
