Jeff helped us as soon as soon as we walked in. My son's bike chain kept coming loose and he brought it right back to the mechanic to describe the issue. I wasn't able to catch the mechanic's name but he was able to fix it within 10 minutes explaining a bolt had fallen off, but he was able to replace it, realign the bike, fix the chain and put air in the tires. During Covid-19 pretty much every bike shop visited from the bay area all the way to Sacramento has had limited stock, when looking for something very specific say a women's cruiser bike 26 tire size with 3 to 7 speed is like finding a needle in a haystack. That being said out of every bike shop I have been to since the start of the pandemic this is the only shop that had one for sale and was in front of their shop for everyone to see. I could see 3 employees all three were masked, the first gentlemen that came up gave us a brief overview but didn't seem very enthusiastic, and when asking about specific bikes like 24 tire sized bikes in stock he did not know what they had, he stated we would have to talk to another rep that knew what they had??? Just odd but ok, spoke with the next rep she was helpful, she did state they have few women's bikes in 26inch and 24inch, the 24 inch women's cruiser bike was smaller then expected and was used she stated it would take a week for it to be fixed and ready to ride for about $125, paint was slightly deteriorated, white walled tires were flat, bike did need allot of work, passed on this bike. They did have a baby blue 3 speed 26 tire size in stock in front, made by Retrospec, brand new, didn't have my bike hitch installed so I told the lady I will be back in an hour, she said she had 2 other people coming to check this bike out. Long story short got back, bike still in stock purchased on the spot, tested out the bike before purchasing, 3 speed was a newer series it had 1 set on both ends but no second or third set for gears, it was a newer gearing system that had small piece on the side that you can turn and manage speeds, also no hand brake but OG style brake backward to slow down. bike rides good, slightly wobbly in the front but that is to be expected on cruiser bikes. Allot of additions can be made to this bike, basket in front, or carrier on the back, no holes provided on the bike, they will add holes for a fee so you can install your water bottle holder. They do offer a six month maintenance on the bike and give you 15% on accessories for six months which is nice. The second rep that helped us was more informed and had better idea of what I was looking for, she was very helpful, I do recommend talking to her if you are interested in getting something there The other rep looked like more of the maintenance guy for bikes, he knew more of the repair side of everything coming in, he would ask for tires, size of tire, if you have regular plug or needle nose plug for tire, for chains he could tell you if they need to be swapped out or if they could be saved, gearing he could tell you by eyeballing if it needed work or not, saw and overheard him talking to users one on a road bike the other on a mountain bike, other user just came in with a tire and no info on plug needed for the tire, so just a heads up, if you are coming in for a fill on your fire and you bring just the tire with rim but no plug you will probably need to take a picture or remember if it was a needle nose or regular size plug to save time. bikes *** from the outside looking in, they did have several bikes but limited stock like other bike shops, they did have about 5 cruiser bikes available in front one clearly a womens bike the other 4 two maybe unisex the other two look like mens cruiser bikes price $$ for what we paid is going rate for a womens cruiser bike glad they had it in stock service **** depends on who you talk too, first rep didn't seem like he new anything about bikes, second rep she was very helpful, repair guy on left side was very knowledgable ambiance **** neat, clean, from outside looking in, organized read more

Practicing Safe Sales and Service and Doing it with Pizazz ... and Masks!! OK, hands down, this place is the best. Jeff is a wizard and a damn nice person (they are not always the same, examples include .... [fill in the blank]). His bike showroom, service, and repair shop is very user friendly for the most seasoned to the newest rider. Today (5/13/2020) during COVID shutdown, Jeff had the doors open and engaging safe social distancing (he was wearing a mask and all conversations and transactions were in the parking area in front of his shop-see pic). He must have made two dozen trips in and out of his shop to help me (an old clueless guy) and a super hip mom with very cool tattoos getting her daughter's bike (a very cute looking little tiny bike) tuned up and ready to go. Jeff answered my dumb questions with grace and good humor. He gave me great advice and helped me understand my clean-up and rehab project for my very old Bianchi. He brought out the parts I needed and explained which parts would be better for my project. If you look at Jeff's service/repair prices, Damn! ... you can tell he's doing this because he loves bikes and riders. Wish I could give negative stars for this company. Had two new tubeless tires installed here and paid maximum price $60. Back tire never sealed properly for whatever reason. I took my bike back and let them know It never sealed properly. I have to pump up the tire every time from flat. Shop manager was going to charge me to inspect the tire and then another charge to repair their work that wasn't done properly in the first place. Screw that. I asked why is there a charge to fix their mistake. No answer so I left with my bike. I took a risk going to this small local shop to help support my community and ended up getting screwed over by them. Be warned, this shop won't fix their mistakes and will charge you extra. Now I know why I never see people in their shop. Terrible management and hopefully owner will make some changes. Worst customer experience ever. Update: Turns out the technician that did my tires here just didn't put enough sealant in the tires plus over charged me for the work. A little communication about "needing more sealant" would have gone miles for this company. But... they just tried to pass it off like they did a good job knowing it was bad. Shame on them, no honor in that kind of work. Thank god "The Bicycle Business" (another local bike store just down the street) was able to help me and fixed the front and rear since they were both lacking a proper amount of sealant. Update to my update: 6/4/2023 The shop owner called my personal phone today. His name stats with "J". Asked me in a very unfriendly tone, why I wrote such a bad review. I said a very bad experience begets a bad review. Instead of apologizing, attempting to make things right or work out a way to do better going forward, owner spends almost 15mins blaming me about what happened and never owned or apologized for the problem. This phone call from the store owner (on my personal time) berating me about my review, just proves my experience was raw and real. "J" treated me with zero respect just like the guy in his shop did. He never apologized and refused to own the issue. No one should ever have to deal with this level of disrespect from anyone, let alone a store owner that SHOULD know better. My niece just started riding a bike and desperately needed a bike her size. On a whim I googled "used bikes" and this shop came up. When we arrived we noticed their 20" bikes were limited but there was one girly bike. The frame wasn't clean and just looked worn. She wanted to try it anyways. She got on it and rode like a champ. The price $149. I was struggling with that piece since I had also looked up new bikes at target that were lower than this price. Jeff the owner sold me on the bike. He said it's been mechanically inspected, has brand new tires. Plus it includes one free tune up that runs around $100. He also added that I could buy that new bike at target and then bring it to them to put it together for $75. so true. I was sold and my niece was in love. This place has my business. I walked into this shop having popped a tube on a rough patch of asphalt and needing a quick flat-fix. They got the job done quickly and for a reasonable price; I'm grateful. And they have an amazing assortment of cool bikes and parts, if you're shopping. But the guy immediately tried to upsell me a whole new tire. I know that my tires are somewhat worn, as I put them on myself several months ago and I ride a lot, but I'm pretty sure there's not actually a "gash here, and there, and look! another gash!" It didn't help that the kid tasked with replacing my tube also topped off my other tire with four half-hearted pumps of a stand pump and told me that my now-full tire had been dangerously low, only 30psi! I really need to buy new tires! Really? I'm more sensitive to these sorts of shenanegans as a female cyclist who's visited her fair share of 100%-male-inhabited bike shops, and has heard guys who'll happily just do the requested work for a male customer then turn around and tell a woman, "gosh, ma'am, unless you also pay us to replace these four other parts immediately, YOU MIGHT DIE". I would advise any shop that wants to pull that off to hire at least one female mechanic, since we ladies know bikes, too, and are generally more sophisticated liars than your four-pumps-and-done kid. :-) read more

Bikes are such a hot commodity in the past few months. I've called and gone to almost every bike shop searching for a bike but they're sold out everywhere. Out of all the bike shops, this one was my favorite place to go searching for a bike. The owner and employees are well knowledged in bikes and are very patient. I've come here several times not purchasing anything but they are still the nicest people ever. I appreciate great customer service which is why I will be waiting until they are restocked on the bike I would like to purchase so I can purchase a bike here and support a small business. My first visit here was excellent. They treated me and my grandsons very nice. They let my grandson take his time, they didn't rush us, listened to us . They were very knowledgeable and friendly and very helpful. They investigated and listened carefully to our needs concerning the bike we were looking for Our first experience motivated us to go back a week later to buy the bike we test drove prior. The second visit was not as impressive as the first. I told them I would purchase the bike and for some still unknown reason they had us standing around for 40 min until we could leave with the bike, they didn't appear to be busy and offered no explanation, also even though we were masked they didn't allow us to go in the store to see their bike and accessory inventory which seemed odd. This place was a lifesaver! My family was on route to Tahoe for camping. We lost the front tire of my son's bike somewhere on I-680. We called every bike shop on the way to Tahoe on search of a replacement wheel. My husband talked to Jeff and he searched their inventory and found the last and possibly only 24 inch disc wheel in the country. We rushed over there and Jeff took care of us. I brought in my hybrid bike for a tune-up after I misaligned my rear derailleur changing the rear tire. Although I got to the shop pretty close to closing time, Jeff took the time to carefully analyze my bike and make thoughtful recommendations. I got the $100 tune-up (which was discounted to $75 as a promotion) plus two new tires and new brake pads at a reasonable price. I decided to donate a bike to a young gentleman that was walking to work with his tools. I had a brief conversation with him, my puppy wanted to give him some love so he had to stop, and found out that he was a roofer that had his bike stolen. So I asked him if he wanted my son's old bike that had not been ridden in years. He said that it would be appreciated. On the day that I was going to give it to him, I thought I would get it freshened up. I'd been hearing great things about this place, and this afternoon I decided to take the plunge. First of all, the atmosphere is so open and friendly, with bikes lined up outside to peruse and great music playing to fill the silence. I'm a novice and have only ridden Walmart Huffy bikes in the past, and I was looking for the next step up. They were very friendly and knew exactly what frame size to get for my height. I wanted a simple bike for flat roads and general commuting. They then let me test out a few options, one single speed road bike and another multi-geared hybrid. I could immediately tell the difference between my Huffy and this bike - it was the real deal. I knew I had to take it. I didn't like the colors they had outside, but they brought out a bike they had inside and it was perfect for the style I was looking for. I rode the bike home, and it's so smooth. They offer free tune-ups and 15% off accessories when you buy. All sales final. Their attention to your needs and the way they keep you knowledgeable about what you're purchasing, it really opened my eyes to what a bike shop should be. I visited "3" bike shops today, I reviewed stock, I asked for assistance and I asked a plethora of questions. I spoke with someone today, friendly enough, sorry i did not retain your name as I was busy looking for stock and did not want to trouble you. In any event, my questions and concerns were about the ever important bike security, locking mechanisms. Then bicycle lighting and finally racks for both the front and back of my new TREK. This store also has a good location, whoever I spoke with was very friendly and knowledgeable, the only drawback for me was their stock, they just did not have enough stock. I want to look at several locks and I want to know why one type of lock is preferred over another. This place rated "SECOND OF THE 3" shops visited today!!!
