The food was great! One of the best fish and chips that I have had. The fish was I believe beer battered COD no fishy taste. The fish was very fresh. We had some calamari as well no fishy taste very fresh and big chunks. The salad was fresh. The service was good they stayed on top of everything and no complaints. The facility was quite very low noise and was a picture perfect Irish pub. I didn't see any seating at the bar but may have missed it. read more

Excellent experience! We took a scenic route back to Galway, after visiting Connemara National Park, and came across this well reviewed restaurant along the ocean. Lots of seating outdoors, but being it was super windy, it was impossible to eat outside. We were greeted immediately upon entrance. We did not have a reservation and unfortunately all tables with ocean views were occupied. We kinda begged our server for an ocean view table, and she made it happen! A previous reservation had cancelled. We ordered a few drinks and for dinner- beef with mushroom gravy and cod with mussels and potatoes. The cod was absolutely delicious!!! A generous portion on top of potatoes and mussels in a light coconut curry. The fish was not overcooked, but flaky and moist. The beef was juicy and had a lovely mushroom and onion gravy. Chef kisses to both entries!! Service was great with prompt service and friendliness. After dinner, we wandered outside to check out the ocean views, and a beautiful rainbow appeared in the horizon. Sometimes here you stumble across a pub restaurant and come away so happy. I saw an item call Irish Potato Boats and had to have them and Deb had a chicken ceasar. Plus the all present Guinness. Stopped here after several positive reviews seen on Yelp. I was thrilled by the entire experience. Food was fantastic-fresh-prompt. I enjoyed the fish n chips, and my travel companion enjoyed the roast beef dinner. Beautiful setting on the water, with great views, no matter where you sit. The hostess, which I assume was the owner, was delightful and accommodating. I couldn't have asked for more delightful dining experience than I received. Thank you!! read more

When returning to Galway, from our visit to the Aran Islands, we were hungry for seafood. Well, Yelp didn't let us down. We did a search, and found Padraicins, located right on the coast line of Furbo Beach. It was cold, windy, and misty outside, but the view overlooking the coastline from within the warm restaurant was beautiful. Service was ok. Very cordial and very friendly, but we had to flag the servers down several times for drinks and for the bill. The food was AWESOME though! We ordered the Padraicins Seafood Platter (which was an ungodly amount of food). It was €28.50 but included a huge bucket of mussels cooked in a butter sauce (the server estimated about 40 in the bucket), calamari with coconut/coriander/sweet chilli dressing, smoked salmon, a pile of what appeared to be a crab salad with apples, celery, onions, parsley, and mayo. Homemade soda bread, and a side salad were also included. This was a TON of food and it was all quite tasty! We also ordered the Vegetable Penne Pasta Arrabiata for €14.50. It was served with cherry tomatoes, red onion,peppers, fresh chilli, and drizzled in a fresh basil and tomato sauce with "fresh rocket." (which I had to Google before I ordered). It's apparently another name for arugula. The bottom line is, if you are looking for a great seafood place near this little harbor town, Padraicins is THE place to stop! Even if you have to go out of your way to get to it. The views are awesome, and the food is even better! read more

Very clean. Checked our covid immunization cards, seated us socially distant, and touchless paying option. You have to try this food. We loved it so much we ate here twice today! I had a couple of things I had never tried before and they were amazing! Staff and servers were so proffesional and polite. This is a nice little restaurant with a wonderful view. Just outside the window flew the flags of The Irish Republic, Galway, and the European Union. Behind the flags was a beautiful beach and the clear day made it a fabulous backdrop for dinner. I finally broke down and ordered fish and chips. I try not to eat too much fried food, since it isn't the healthiest choice, but this is Ireland and you can't leave without indulging. The fish was freshly caught cod with a nice, although slightly soggy, coating. The French fries were pieces, rather than strips of potatoes, that win the prize for the best "chips" ever! Delicious!! Just to make sure I didn't feel too guilty, there was a terrific salad of mixed greens on the side. The homemade dressing was perfect. I poked my head in the bar/pub and to find out where all of the enthusiastic yells were coming from. It was packed with men (one woman), enjoying a game of soccer (football) on a large HD screen. It looked like great fun and a happy place to spend a couple of hours. It was one of the nicer pubs that I've seen here in Ireland. read more

What a lovely find as we were driving along the coast. Cosy atmosphere with fireplace, with nice views of Galway Bay. The fish and chips were some of the best we had during our visit to Ireland, complete with "mushy peas". A perfect end to our day in Galway. read more

Padraicins was outstanding! We had decided beforehand to have fish and chips. Were we are surprised to find it on the early bird menu! So we were able to add the extra-delicious fish chowder with tons of fish in it and also a delicious brownie and ice cream dessert! I was very happy to find that the fish chowder did not have potatoes and extra fluff in it; just chunks of fish and the creamy soup! Yum! The Fish and Chips were really fresh and delicious. The brownie was tasty and moist, just like I like it. I highly recommend this restaurant! We rented a house just 500 meters from Padraicins. The owner told us about this great place to eat and we enjoyed our lunch their. The staff was friendly and noticed, that we were tourists, so they helped us a little bit (with the menu and how to "eat" the chips). The meals were delivered really quickly and it was amazingly good. I've never eaten such a great burger before (Chicken Filet Burger)! Also the view over Furbo beach and the Galway bay is amazing! I'd recommend this restaurant, pub and B&B to everyone who's in the area! read more

We found this lovely seaside restaurant by accident and we were so lucky. Cozy yet spacious on the inside, we were pleasantly surprised. The seafood chowder is a MUST ORDER. Delicious. I had a salmon special for my entree and my husband had the beef stew. The beef stew is a huge portion so only order if you are very hungry! I had'nt been to Padraicins for almost six months, the food and service was always reasonably good. Today I took my ex Mother in Law and my son there for lunch. My ex Mom in law is Polish and speaks no English, bar some pleasanteries. An incredibly pleasant and friendly waitress, her name was Ola, also Polish took time to go through the menu with her, even though we were not at one of her tables. The food today far exceeded the norm, perhaps a new chef? I had beautifully cooked large portion, of Haddock,great chips,salad,and mushy peas. M in L had Sea Trout, and her plate went back gleaming. My son Wojtek had Beef,mashed potato,veg,and gravy, normally a picky eater, he also cleared his plate. Most enjoyable lunck in a long time. Food glorious food (and quite the view from over the beach)! First ate here in April 2013 after hearing rave reviews from a friend living locally and the food was excellent. This is not gourmet dining, it is simple and delicious, wholesome comfort food. On our most recent trip there were three of us and we enjoyed tasty chicken pieces, delicious vegetable soup and warm brie to start. For mains we had roast chicken and roast lamb (really well done, falling apart - perfect!) x 2 served with generous spoons of buttery mashed potato, season vegetables in a white sauce and lashings of gravy. There were some very clean plates going back to the kitchen. We finished our meal with banoffee pie (fresh banana - delicious) , homemade strawberry cheesecake and homemade carrot cake. My dining partners had a bottle of cabernet sauvignon and two pints of Guinness (very good I am told) with dinner. Padraicins has become a firm favourite and a must each time we're in Galway. The service is very friendly and swift, and they let us sit at our dining table until after midnight whilst we finished drinks and listened to the live band. So if you're looking for friendly service, comforting food, live music and a room with a view, this is certainly the place for you. read more
