Sunset Ridge has some really nice and large concrete sites to park your rig, vehicles, boats, and…read moreeverything else you might bring along. The concrete streets are wider than average and make backing into your site a breeze. The grass around the sites is unbelievably lush and apparently watered by an underground seepage system that keeps the grass in good health. The grounds are maintained on a daily basis to keep everything trimmed to perfection. These are the highlights of our findings during our 9 week stay: - The pool is heated and hot tub worked most of our stay. It was still broken when we left. - The office/clubhouse is perpetually "coming soon", although they have no construction plans currently to build one. The office is located inside of a shipping container. - They sometimes erect a tent for gatherings, but stated they get destroyed by high winds on a regular basis. - They held potluck dinners in the fitness room during our stay, due to lack of any other facilities. - We were warned of past thefts when we arrived. Two thefts occurred on separate occasions during our stay and the "resort" sent out text messages to residents with tips from the local police department. - Stray dogs regularly roam the grounds. - There is no street lighting and building exterior lighting is off during most of the dark hours. Flashlights or headlamps are advised after dark. - Lawn maintenance is a constant irritant at the sites. It happens 6 days of the week, with 3-5 days that they would come through our site EACH WEEK. - The building is surrounded by SANDBURS. We picked them out of our shoes on a daily basis. - The air often smelled like sewer gas, most likely due to the nearby tidal basin. - Showers/restrooms are cleaned once a week, according to the manager. Daily would be more appropriate. - The high-speed internet located at each site was good. However, they don't provide a Wi-Fi Hotspot for use when away from your site (e.g. in fitness room). - They say Corpus Christi is the windiest city in the United States. We no longer doubt that statement. - While it is promoted as a "resort", it felt more like an RV park by the end of our stay there. Many "resort" amenities are perpetually "coming soon".

All new concrete sites but no amenities (no firing, picnic…read moretable, etc), tight sites but good grass (w/ sticker burs abundant), WiFi 2 bars in site 24 which is a west/ east backin. Water pressure good, FHU's w/ 50 amp, 3 bars on Verizon so you can stream on cellular service. WiFi not strong enough too. About 1/2 the sites are FTers w/ #22 winning yard of the month. Roads are concrete but very tight. Our 35' crossed the grad even though we were as far right as we could go. 40'+ rigs will have issues turning and backing in as all sites are back in w/utilities at the rear of the site.

We've found…read morePadre Balli park isn't as crowded as others, and if you park by the pier (currently being restored from Hurricane Hannah), you can walk to the showers (rinse only - no soap or conditioner). Lots of people bring canopies, and we saw some that had bag holders for the canopies so your beach bag isn't full of sand on the bottom. We'd also advise a picnic/outdoor blanket to set stuff on and cup holders that go into the sand to hold your beverage. It's fun to watch the local surf school give lessons, and there are lots of locals/families.

Golf Waters Beach RV Resort: where paradise meets pest control problems…read more Let's start with the good -- the place itself is stunning. The landscaping looks like it was done by angels with hedge trimmers, the Tiki Hut is straight out of a Jimmy Buffett song, and the outdoor kitchens are so spotless you could perform surgery on the countertops. The people? Couldn't be friendlier if they tried. Now the bad -- bring your own gallon of bug spray, because the mosquitoes clearly got the memo this is prime real estate too. And then, the real kicker: golf cart rentals. You'd think in Port A you could shop around for a deal. Nope. Here, it's less free market and more "mob mentality." You can only rent from one company -- and surprise! It's also the most expensive one in town. Why? Because apparently if Golf Waters doesn't get their "cut," no other companies are allowed in. So Port A Beach Buggies jacks up the prices to keep the relationship sweet, while guests like us get the privilege of paying the highest rate in town. In short: the resort is gorgeous, the people are lovely, but if you don't want to be eaten alive or fleeced on golf cart rentals, pack DEET and maybe a bicycle."

I wish they had a nicer dog park…read more We had a great site with easy access to the beach; however, the beach was covered, literally, in debris and seaweed so it really wasn't usable. There was no place to set your chairs. We saw one of their workers attempting to rake some of the debris but the equipment he had was way insufficient for the amount of debris. We had to get in our car and drive to the nearest beach access to enjoy the beach.

We now refuse to stay anywhere else in Port A! Casa Bendita is incredibly clean (&I have high standards with cleanliness!), beautiful big kitchen with every utensil/dish/cup you'll ever need, comfortable beds and cozy bedrooms (all have TVs!), washer & dryer (with detergent, etc. provided!), plenty of parking, beautiful pool with lovely outdoor area and a FULL bathroom off of the pool (genius!), gated porch to keep the kiddos safe from the stairs (in addition to plenty of kid friendly items, games, etc.), quick walk or drive to the beach & into town, and the owners and host are the best -- always been so responsive and accommodating... the list of reasons why we love Casa Bendita is endless! Highly recommend staying at Casa Bendita for your next trip to Port Aransas! Promise you won't want to stay anywhere else either after your stay :-)

The kitchen is extremely well equipped, and the layout just works with lots of people. The private pool is beautiful too, clean, with a wall fountain and tanning ledge. We used the grill and really enjoyed all the amenities. It's a quiet street, with plenty of parking and a quick walk to the beach. We love Casa Bendita!
