We recently stayed several nights at the Corpus Christi KOA. Great location looking out onto Laguna Madre ! Nice sites - we reserved a pull through in the middle section. Beautiful views - reminded me of staying at resorts in the Caribbean ! The office folks were very friendly and check in was easy. The bathrooms are upstairs in the main building and very nice. It was hot and humid, so we decided to drive down to the office to take our showers - plenty of parking out front. There are many good restaurants in the area both toward town and across the bridge. We had some great seafood ! The views, location, friendly staff, and prices - 5 out of 5 !! See you next time !

This Koa site is one of the most beautiful little getaways on the Laguna Madre, much less on the island although not directly on it. It is the only private, water-view location I know of on north padre and in the bluff that is meticulously maintained and you're legitimately backed up to water. It's a new "boutique" vibe with each one promising the best sunrises over the Laguna and intracoastal. Really nice front office who have rearranged our reservations more than once with sweet southern coastal hospitality. We've stayed twice and plan on making it a "go-to" for long weekend getaways. Grounds are kept so clean that you'd have to hunt for a bug. Check out 2 different morning sunrises taken directly from our spot sitting next to our personal fire pit and outdoor eating/ cooking area.

Arrival, backed up to a channel great For fishing.

This place is a must stay! Everyone is super nice, welcoming and ready to do what they can to make your stay a fantastic one. The road getting to the park is horrible with pot holes but keep your cool and keep going. When you pull in you stop and check in and they guide you to your spot and help you get into your spot. They office/ store has almost everything you will need a little higher price than store but if you're in a pinch it's there. They have laundry facilities- just bring your own detergent, a play ground, boat Launch, and you can fish right from your spot. The bathrooms (3) located Near the office have a sink, shower, toilet and bench in each. There is also a small game room. I would recommend bringing bug spray the mosquitos are quite vicious at night. They are planning on adding a pool and pier soon but even now it is a great place. My kids and husband had a great time fishing and we ate dinner and breakfast each meal on the patio. Most spots have a fire pit perfect for s'mores, and plenty of chairs and a table.

Beautiful place to stay ! Cleanest showers and bathrooms I've ever seen . Amazing views and super helpful and friendly staff . We can't wait to back !

Absolutely wonderful! The park is beautiful, the restrooms and showers are some of the nicest I've seen and the staff are AMAZING! We will definitely be back!

Seaweed smell ruined trip. The park is amazing, clean, well maintained, gorgeous view of sunrise and moon over water! But depending on the wind, it smelled like rotten eggs. It even woke me up one night! Local residents told me this area is known for the smell. Lots near office smell worse than at the opposite end. Or try near canal instead of ocean front.

    Beach and pool area.

Corpus Christi KOA has some great, spacious sites. We chose a patio site on the channel and loved it. The office had a lovely little store to find most of the items you may need in a pinch, and the employees were friendly and helpful. The downside, the beach, which was not a useful swim beach due to the grasses that continue to wash ashore (and dead fish). The sand on the beach had too much glass to have kids play in the sand, or to even walk barefoot. The pool looked clean, however, there are only four chairs, which most were taken when I wanted to go, so we never used the pool. The stench from the dead grass wasn't that great either. Even with all of that, this is a great place to stay. We rented kayaks to take around the channels, and the location is close enough to the beaches, great restaurants, etc. I give it four grackles.

We visit Corpus Christ/Padre island about 15 times a year for fishing. First time at Firefly, Mon…read moreto Thurs. We love the place, it is by far the cleanest and quietest park in the Corpus Christi area and much more secure than for example, the county RV parks. (We've had our car broken into twice). We had no problems with the facilities, WiFi or hookups. The pool was excellent and the laundry/bathroom area spotless with modern machines. There is no traffic driving thru the park or non-visitors using the pool or pier. The staff was friendly and helpful and really kept a close eye on the park. I do have one quibble that is my own fault, I did not pay attention to the pad sizes when registering. A couple of them are really small and our camper was a pretty tight fit. I took note of which sites would be better for next time. (Yes, there will be a next time, Firefly is heads above every other nearby park) Just a note, a lot of the other reviews mention smell. It's on a saltwater lagoon, folks. A miles wide tidal flat. It's going to have an odor. Myself, I grew up locally and it's a non-issue. I think the reviews incredibly overstate the problem and honestly, sound overly whiny and suspiciously coached.

When we checked in we found out that our cabin did not have a parking space near our unit. It was located 75 yards away. Then we did not have a thrash can in the bathroom. No Kleenex and only 2 wash cloths. The lady in the office said to walk up two flights of stairs to the office and exchange for clean ones. I made a trip to Walmart and bought a small trash can and Kleenex and some cheap wash cloths. You get texts reminding you if you have guests they must register and pay as well as other rules. As I write this we are one of 4 spots occupied out of 26. But I got a call from the office to move my car. DON'T STAY HERE!

The concrete streets are wider than average and make backing into your site a breeze. The grass around the sites is unbelievably lush and apparently watered by an underground seepage system that keeps the grass in good health. The grounds are maintained on a daily basis to keep everything trimmed to perfection. These are the highlights of our findings during our 9 week stay: - The pool is heated and hot tub worked most of our stay. It was still broken when we left. - The office/clubhouse is perpetually "coming soon", although they have no construction plans currently to build one. The office is located inside of a shipping container. - They sometimes erect a tent for gatherings, but stated they get destroyed by high winds on a regular basis. - They held potluck dinners in the fitness room during our stay, due to lack of any other facilities. - We were warned of past thefts when we arrived. Two thefts occurred on separate occasions during our stay and the "resort" sent out text messages to residents with tips from the local police department. - Stray dogs regularly roam the grounds. - There is no street lighting and building exterior lighting is off during most of the dark hours. Flashlights or headlamps are advised after dark. - Lawn maintenance is a constant irritant at the sites. It happens 6 days of the week, with 3-5 days that they would come through our site EACH WEEK. - The building is surrounded by SANDBURS. We picked them out of our shoes on a daily basis. - The air often smelled like sewer gas, most likely due to the nearby tidal basin. - Showers/restrooms are cleaned once a week, according to the manager. Daily would be more appropriate. - The high-speed internet located at each site was good. However, they don't provide a Wi-Fi Hotspot for use when away from your site (e.g. in fitness room). - They say Corpus Christi is the windiest city in the United States. We no longer doubt that statement. - While it is promoted as a "resort", it felt more like an RV park by the end of our stay there. Many "resort" amenities are perpetually "coming soon".
