A good solid place for lunch any day Lots of room in a very clean dining room was great for large groups and families. Service was friendly and attentive and very patient. Cocktails were very nice. Came here on a Friday evening after checking in at our vacation club Marriott located in Marbella Spain. This Restaurant was in the downtown area and was about a half hour drive to get there. We found parking on the street which was metered and the restaurant was just minutes from where we parked. I made reservations via the concierge and when we arrived we were seated immediately. We actually met the owner Javier and head chef who introduced himself and recommended a bottle of local wine from Ronda Spain - which was about an hour and a half drive away in the hills. We started off with some stuffed peppers which were mouthwatering tasty and followed with the black ink seafood paella pasta for two. The Paella was incredible tasting and the portion was so large we had ppenty of leftovers. For dessert we ended with an apple tart and vanilla ice cream which was a perfect ending to a great meal. BTW the restaurant is popular and when we departed around 10:00 PM , the place was packed solid. I would highly suggest reservations if you plan to dine here! read more

My local friends took me here. The place has an immediate warmth to it. The music was jazzy and hipster-ish and a perfect volumn. The owner/head chef came over and greeted us. He explained the evening's specials which completely changed our minds about appetizers/starters. He was friendly and his descriptions were detailed. He took a personal interest in what we like. Our waiter took our drink orders; he was young and not so familiar with our off the menu orders. But the drinks came out ok. He and the rest of the staff were, "easy on the eyes" as my great aunt used to say. We ordered the clams with white beans and also the croquettes with cod, shrimp, and spinach as our two starters. Then we ordered the seafood paella with lobster. Meanwhile we munched on the warm bread. Mine was wheat and seeded. There were also white rolls. I was absolutely floored by the two starters. Both were off the charts incredible. The croquettes were creamy inside and crunchy; they were not fishy or cheesy at all. Yet you could taste the cod and the prawn with the hint of the spinach. The clams were death-row meal worthy. The clams and beans were perfectly cooked. The dish was red but they were not tomatoey. Bread was used for dipping and they gave us each bit soup spoons and we used them to scoop up the broth. I begged for the recipe. Service was impeccable. Many people picking up plates. Unobtrusive. For dessert we decided to split 2 dishes between three of us. We did the vanilla ice cream with cherries in a Rioja Wine syrup and the caramelized chocolate custard, dark chocolate ice cream, walnuts & cookies The chocolate was not too sweet, not too bitter. It was a mixture of mousse, ice cream, and a crunch. All in one syrupy chocolate bite. The cherrie and vanila ice cream dessert was a perfect compliment. This restaurant is a must do! read more

This restaurant is beautiful and delicious. The paella comes in a huge serving dish and if you ask for a paella for 3, it may feed 5. The waiter was so kind to advice us so we don't over order. The paella of the house was spectacular. We also had the leeks and they very delicious. The owner is always walking around greeting his guests. This restaurant is just fun! The chef is out greeting guest immediately and asking about what we enjoyed eating. We had some seafood lovers and some not so much. And the paella did not disappoint. Both the traditional seafood and the one with 5 porks were wonderful--crispy rice on the bottom and tons of flavor. Portion sizes are enormous! But it's so good you want the leftovers. Even though the name seems too pedestrian, don't be fooled--this place is the real deal for excellent food. read more

I have been to Paella y Mas twice and both times did not disappoint for food, service or atmosphere. The lighting is perfect as is the sound level of the background music, it was that, background. Upon sitting down you are greeted by the Owner/Head Chef Javier who then tells you, in detail, about the evening's specials. I recommend them, all of them, regardless of what they are as these are the dishes he has created and mastered beyond the normal menu items. Of course one goes here for the paella and that does not disappoint. The rice is cooked just right with the wonderful crunchy rice on the bottom of the pan and the other ingredients cooked to perfection. The portions are large and 3 people could easily share a paella for 2 if they allow it; I have not asked so I do not know. If not, leftover paella is a great next day lunch. This is a must go, hands down, in Marbella. read more
