I threw a 70's birthday party for my wife at a local hotel in Lake Arrowhead and Cliff did a great job with all the music. I can't say enough about how awesome the music was at our wedding reception, as well as Cliff's great customer service. Cliff has an easy to use (though dated) website where you can choose your processional, recessional, first dance song, mother/song dance song, etc. There are lots of examples that you can listen to right on the site, or you can type in your own favourite. We met with Cliff a week or so before the wedding to review the songs we'd selected, and he noted the names of our bridal party members, who would be giving speeches, etc. Everything ran perfectly smoothly at the reception. As well, we chose only 1 or 2 songs for the dancing - just let him know we liked 80s and 90s and wanted lots of upbeat music. The music for the dancing was absolutely perfect. If we had come up with our own playlist for the whole night, it wouldn't have been as awesome as what Cliff pulled together. The dance floor was packed the whole night - the majority of our guests were up dancing and singing. I've never seen such a high percentage of guests dancing before, and it was so much fun. Post-wedding, I've had numerous guests tell me they loved the DJ and our music. Several thought we had picked all the songs on our own. Cliff has obviously learned over the years which songs created excitement and get people up on their feet, and his experience and knowledge created an incredibly fun reception for us on our special day. read more

I can honestly not say enough wonderful things about Cliff! We got married at the Christmas House Inn & Gardens and he was the included DJ with our wedding package. He is very familiar with the property, as he does all the weddings there, and even installed his own speaker system inside/outside the house. We were fairly easy clients, and had a very short list of specifics such as first dance, and the song I walked down the aisle to, but otherwise gave him the freedom to do his thing, and he nailed it!! Guests absolutely loved him, he knew exactly when to play slow songs vs upbeat songs and vice versa. Several of our guests went up and requested music, and one of our guests even hugged him afterwards to thank him for keeping the party going!! As the emcee he also announced when things like cake cutting were happening, but several guests commented that they liked the fact that he didn't overdo it and take over the whole wedding. For me, the biggest disappointment of our wedding was the DJ. I got a relatively inexpensive price compared to what other DJs wanted but at $925, they didn't come cheap. I'm not certain that having a DJ was any better than using my iPod. Cliff, the owner, is smart and attentive on the phone. Unfortunately, he wasn't the DJ at my wedding. The guy I had called me the day of the wedding to make sure he had the procession music straight. I had spent a lot of time on their web site choosing songs and Cliff went out and acquired all the songs that I said they "must play" at the wedding. All of the must play moments were taken care of as I asked (it wasn't that hard, I created a playlist in order for him to play before the ceremony and he did). But even though I had completed my list a month before the wedding, the DJ told me sometime around dinner that he was only familiar with about 5 of the songs on my "may play" list which I had indicated I wanted during dancing. No offense to Michael Jackson fans, but I did not want MJ played at my wedding particularly when there were about 50 other songs to choose from that I indicated could be played. I liked that the DJ didn't try to insert himself into the wedding. I didn't want an entertainer, just the tunes but he really didn't get it. He was not familiar with a lot of popular music and even though he showed up hours early to set up his equipment, he didn't do the work he needed to do to familiarize himself with the tunes I asked him to play. read more

AMAZING!!!!!!!! I can not say enough about Cliff (the owner and DJ) and Paid2Party. He made our reception perfect!!! My wife is Canadian and I am Persian, he made sure that he incorporated the right about of hip-hop and dance music (Calvin Harris, FloRider, etc) along with Persian music for the dancing portion of the reception. The ceremony was done perfectly as well, and the introduction of the bridal party, the cake cutting, dances, etc was all perfect. He stuck to the schedule and did everything as we requested. His website allows you to pick songs and add your own songs and organize them as "love it, like it and hate it" . He met with us for a few hours a few weeks before the wedding to make sure everything was perfect. On top of all of that is price was GREAT!!! So affordable. Cliff was wonderful to work with. He met with my wife and her sister in person to get to know the order of the ceremony and reception, know the names of everyone in the wedding party, and understand the tastes of the families. His website allowed us to pick exactly what music we wanted and when we wanted it. Cliff was extremely helpful in picking out ceremony music, something my wife had taken for granted initially (there is so much that goes into planning a wedding!). During the reception, he was great. He kept the party moving and encouraged our guests to get on their feet and have a good time. During our grand entrance, he coordinated our guests to use the party bubbles to surround us during the first dance, something fun and creative that we wouldn't have thought of ourselves. The only complaint I have is that I wish he would have kept our grand entrance music going a little bit longer (Sabotage, by The Beastie Boys) so I could come out dancing to it! Fantastic DJ service. This company, as I'm aware, has a few DJs working together to book and play at events. We had DJ Cliff Bell and he was great! Cliff was also very personable & polite. He dressed wedding appropriate and maintained a professional and fun relationship with the guests. Our wedding was in July 2014 and Paid 2 Party took care of our ceremony and reception. They even found obscure instrumental songs to play for our prelude upon request. The company website has forms to fill out so the DJ can have every last detail and request handy. I found this very useful for our wedding. DJ cliff played every song we requested and kept the feel of the music on point. The DJ from Paid 2 Party was a part of a total package for my wedding in June 2014. Our DJ was Michael, but we had some contact with Cliff during the planning process. We started communications with Cliff and Michael on June 2nd for our June 28th wedding. I completed Paid 2 Party's online submission form, which was very easy to do. I received a very prompt response from Cliff saying that he received most of the information they needed for the wedding, and he CCed Michael on the email who was to be our DJ for the event. I was told Michael would reach out to me shortly to schedule a call or meeting to go over our event. In this communication, I told Cliff that we had songs that we preferred to have played during the cocktail hour, dinner, and reception and I asked whether we needed to provide those songs. Since I didn't choose this vendor on my own, I wanted to make sure we were on the same page in terms of the kind of music we wanted played at the wedding. Cliff said we could just provide a list of songs and they would get them on their own. Pretty easy. I spent a few days gathering up the song titles and artists and put them in a spreadsheet so that it was easy for them to go through and sent it over on June 12th. I hadn't received a response, so I resent the email on the 18th in case the email never went through. Cliff promptly emailed back saying that he had checked that he had all the songs but would need the custom edit of our first dance. We wanted the song shortened to go with our dance, so we made that on our own and sent it over in an email. Everything seemed to be set by the 19th, and I spoke with Michael shortly after to give him details about the wedding timeline, the music, wedding party names, etc. Cliff and Michael were flexible about setting up an extra set of equipment for the front of the house to use for the ceremony, and they thought about how they could use the speakers to drown out potential noise from the street. Throughout the event, Michael was very polite, patient, and professional. He kept the event going at a good pace, but we didn't feel rushed. He also made all the announcements that we asked for. Additionally, we wanted to give away our centerpieces, so he played this fun game to give them away. The only reason I gave Paid 2 Party two stars was because we didn't like the music (which is pretty important since they are a DJ company). I would have given three stars because their service was good, but three stars is for an A-OK rating while two stars is for meh, I've experienced better and that's more accurate for me because I'm still annoyed 2 months later. I also wouldn't recommend them to my friends given my experience, so I didn't think it was fair to give a three star rating for something I wouldn't recommend. A lot of the music that Michael played was not what we had requested. It wasn't bad music at all, but just not what we had intended for it to be. My husband and I spent several days looking up music, so it was very disappointing to not hear a lot of it. Throughout the event, I was a bit weirded out by some of the songs played (mostly because I would have never picked them) and the transitions were a bit rough, but I was so busy that I didn't really have time to react or ask for different stuff. Several of my good friends commented after the event (not in a mean way) that they were surprised by the music because the music didn't seem like stuff that we would normally pick, which infuriated me even more because people noticed! I get that DJs should have the freedom to play whatever they want and not have to follow a set list that people provide for them, but I feel like a wedding is different. We were trying to set a certain mood with the music that we chose. The worst part was Michael did not play the correct song for our first dance, which really bothered me. We had spent over 7 months taking dance lessons and we choreographed a dance to go with the shortened song, but he played the original unshortened version! That made the end of our dance so awkward because we ended our dance with me popping up from a dip, but the song just kept going and our guests were confused as to whether they should start dancing or whether we were going to do something else. It was very disappointing to put all this work into the first dance and it was messed up by the music. On a normal day, I wouldn't really care about the music. If we had gone out to a club or to someone else's wedding and heard the same music, it would have been fine. But, it bothered me that we spent so much time picking out music and preparing for our first dance, and a lot of it wasn't played. The TL;DR version of this review: The DJ service was good; very polite, professional, and everything was done in a timely manner. We are unhappy because a lot of the music we picked was not played and they played the incorrect version of our first dance song. read more

Cliff came all the way out from San Bernardino to do our special day..he dressed the part, played all the music I requested (except for the processional..) Considering the long day, he only had one slip up, which is bound to happen. What I most admired and appreciated about Cliff is his professionalism: He was on time, diligent and friendly to my guests. A great MC on top of it! All of my other music was played, and most of all, he got my guests to dance! They are a tough crowd....he had me at all the dancing that was going on. From day 1 meeting Cliff from Paid 2 Party we were immediately at ease. It was clear he knew exactly what we were looking for when it came to a dj and trust me he did not disappoint. He did an excellent job of navigating the party and packing the dance floor. All night I had people coming up to me and saying they have never seen so many people dancing at a wedding. I even had friends who recently got married tell me they wish they had my DJ. We had our own musicians for the ceremony which Cliff helped set them up with speakers and mics. He also provided a customized monogram light of our names and gorgeous uplighting which gave what was an average looking ballroom our own unique flair. Cliff has a great online tool to upload the songs you would like played and he does a great job of playing your requested songs. Cliff really went above and beyond just playing music he helped us plan and organize the wedding and made sure everything went off without a hitch. He also took the time to get to know my fiance and I and made sure our wedding was exactly what we wanted. When we started to plan our wedding we thought about just using our own ipod and having a friend play songs.... hiring Cliff was quite possibly the best decision we could have made. This is the only review I have left for a vendor from my wedding and I liked all of them, this is how highly I think of Cliff. The best advice I can give you for your wedding/event is to hire Cliff. The most important part of the wedding to me and my now husband was the music. I picked about 4 hours of music for Cliff and he played every song we requested and did not play anything from our "do not play" list. Cliff also was able to lengthen/shorten songs. I fell in love with a song that was only a little over a minute long and I wanted all 6 couples of my bridal party to walk down to that song and he was able to lengthen that song several minutes and it seemed as if that was how the song was created you could not tell he made any modifications. I also had him cut a piece of a song and replay that piece over and over. My dad had picked a song 7 min song for the father daughter dance and Cliff was able to shorten it several minutes. Cliff also took on making sure that the party moved along smoothly by ensuring other vendors were staying on schedule. I could tell Cliff had lots of experience working weddings. I was so happy I used Cliff he was the preferred vendor for my venue and I can understand why. I had so many compliments on the music even the other vendors at the venue had complimented me on the music. I will only use Paid 2 Party for my events. We recently had our wedding at Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa and our coordinator from the resort recommended a couple DJ's; Cliff being one of them. We originally had decided to go with another dj but wanted to check out a few more just to be sure. After the first phone conversation with Cliff, he felt like the right choice. He was professional, had good suggestions and was very reasonably priced. We decided to meet him up at the resort when we finally scheduled our food tasting. During the time between when we talked and when we had made the appointment for the tasting, I had completely forgotten about telling Cliff when we'd be up there. The night before I emailed him and he accommodated us and was very understanding and had a great attitude. When the wedding came around he worked with the guitar players for our ceremony, miking them and even giving our videographer friend a recording of our vows. At the ceremony he; again was professional, and didn't try to steal the spotlight while making sure things went smoothly... there wasn't even a hiccup on his part. Fun, stress free wedding with a full dance floor! Our wedding was everything we wanted it to be! Everything went according to plan from the mic for the officiant and live musicians during the ceremony to a full dance floor for the entire reception and that's thanks to Cliff. From our first meeting we knew he was the DJ we wanted. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and informative and obviously experienced. He answered all our questions (even those unrelated to music) and gave us great suggestions to ensure everyone had a great time.
