We made the appt for a wk later and the night before the meeting I get this strange email stating that he is getting a "weird vibe about the wedding" and has to decline the wedding. I hired them about 8 months prior to my wedding and they were there every step of the way, with monthly meetings to keep me on track of what I needed to do, up until the month prior where the girls took over and ran with it all. I had the utmost confidence in them and was able to relax and enjoy the last month before my wedding, which can be a stressful time. My wedding consisted of a beautiful venue in Joshua Tree that was minimal with amenities/services included, so I had to hire just about everyone - food, cake, rentals, dj, servers, bartenders, flowers, etc! Cross + Swan did an excellent job of coordinating all of the vendors and keeping them on schedule. I had numerous guests at my wedding come up to me and tell me that my planners were the stars that day, nailing every detail and keeping the wedding going at a good pace with the timeline and also keeping everyone happy & worry free. Jacqui was amazing with my vendors the day of the wedding & also made the most beautiful signage for an extra fee for me (welcome signs, seating chart, bar & cake menus). Sydney was great with going the extra mile and driving me, my husband and photographer out into Joshua Tree National Park to capture some amazing photos after our ceremony. When you meet with wedding planners and they stress the importance of the investment in a planner, believe them - it's SO TRUE. They made my wedding day one to remember - and one that was truly stress-free and the best days of my life. HIGHLY recommend Cross + Swan.

Her style is exactly what I wanted, and she appealed to my sister (the professional!) as well! In person, Laarne was so sweet and caring; I feel she truly cared about my wedding day. She was able to direct our bridal party easily, while keeping our carefree, fun attitudes that show through to the photos. She even encouraged/enabled our nerdy sides when we wanted to take some Harry Potter related photos with props I made ;) A few days after the wedding, I was finally able to get some Wifi in Costa Rica during our honeymoon, and we had an email from Laarne with about 20 sneak peek photos! I've never seen anything like it. He didn't just play music--he created an atmosphere that brought everyone together and made the night unforgettable. What truly stood out to me was how he got EVERYONE dancing. And I mean everyone. Even my husband's family--who, in all the years I've known them, have never danced at any family gathering--were out on the dance floor having the time of their lives. That alone says everything about how incredible he is at what he does. He knew exactly how to read the room, transition between songs seamlessly, and keep the momentum going all night long. Originally I found Laura via Instagram- I saw a random balloon artist I followed tagged her in several very full scale events. I loved everything about her work, and despite be smack middle in the pandemic (aug 2020) I would see if she would be able to accommodate my event. I had my baby shower at Morning Lavender- a very upscale and high end venue in Orange County, CA. I had a somewhat stressful pregnancy while managing a toddler so I gave Laura my budget, some inspiration photos and wish list and let her run with it. SHE DELIVERED!! I walked into the venue day of and was beaming with an ear to ear smile. Everything was perfect, she hit every little detail and beyond! I didn't have to lift a finger and I truly got to enjoy my whole baby shower. Fast forward to October 2021- we held my daughters 1st birthday at Coyote Hills Golf Course for 100 of our closest friends + family. At this point I without a doubt knew if once again I gave Laura my vision + budget she would execute it, and she did just that!! Everything was perfect! So many of our guests said this was even better than any wedding that they have been to. She levered the venue itself and got lots of extras thrown in (champagne, bistro lights, drapery, extra time etc) I would without a doubt highly recommend Laura for any high end birthday, shower, corporate event or wedding. We hired Laura about a year before our wedding, wanting someone that was familiar with Salt Lake…read morearea and vendors because we were very new to the area. She made promises to vet all of the vendors and ensure that they were available on our wedding date prior to sending us the information to make an informed decision about choosing the vendor. She did not do that when it came down to it. For example, we would ask her to send us recommendations for photographers and she would send me a list of 5 photographers that were all out of budget and did not verify availability prior to sending them to us. She sent me a list of 3 florists, I picked out my favorite and asked her to reach out to the florist for availability/pricing and she did not respond for over a week. At that point I decided to reach out to the florist myself for the information and the florist told me that she was not taking any business for all of 2022. After telling Laura this information, Laura told me that she wished I did not reach out to the florist myself because the florist had told her prior to me reaching out that she would take me as a client but did not realize that I was her client and did not want to go back on her word. Seems as though if Laura had a good relationship with the florist, the florist would have still taken me on as a client. Her responsiveness was ok (she would respond to emails fairly quickly but with a response of "working on it" or "i'll work on it") but would take a very long time to get us the information that we asked for. We wanted information about pricing/availability on multiple vendors and she would claim that the vendor would not respond to her due to it being wedding season and vendors are busy. When I reached out to the vendors I was interested in, every single vendor got back to me within 24 hours. After the first 3 months of working with her and essentially not getting anything done, I had asked her to start cc'ing my fiance and I in every single email that she sent regarding our wedding and she was not doing so and claiming that she had "multiple phone calls out" for everything. We told her about our specific deadlines that we wanted to meet and she did not meet our reasonable deadlines. To make things even worse, we had to pay half of the money up front to secure her availability and when we decided it wasn't a good fit for us we were out a significant amount of money. I would strongly recommend choosing a different wedding/event planner and if you do decide to book with her you should be aware that she does make false promises.
