After checking in and then some stretches, I spent 30 minutes on the PF Express workout circuit. Not all Planet Fitness locations have the Thirty Minute Circuit so this was nice and pleasant. All the equipment worked, I had no problems at 10am on a weekday with most people at work. After, a quick shower and I was back on my way. I think they've fixed the showers noted in other reviews, it worked just fine. My only complaint? The shower curtains need to actually close all the way across the shower. Again, please let me know if I am missing them. They have a nice out-of-the-way area for sit ups or stretching (not the most well-kept). They also offer classes, which I eventually would love to partake of. Locker rooms are old but well kept. They have a rule that says those with children over 10 years of the opposite sex must use an alternate changing area. Honestly? I think it should be over the age of 5 or 6. I really don't care to change in front of a 7 year old boy and I think the experience would likely be traumatic for the little one. The weight machines are totally different but they have enough to focus on whatever area you wish to work on. Some of the equipment looked older than what the other facilities have but some also looked newer. The gym is usually less crowed than the other two gyms which means no waiting for equipment.

These remarks are entirely inappropriate in any professional environment and especially unacceptable in a fitness facility where members should feel safe and respected. Following the most recent incident, we spoke directly with the owner to report what had occurred. His response was to state that these comments did not happen, despite the fact that they did, and despite this behavior being consistent with numerous similar incidents that have occurred over time. That response was deeply concerning and demonstrated a lack of accountability. When such conduct is dismissed or allowed to continue by management, it reflects not only on the individual but on the culture, standards, and values of the business as a whole. I also find it notable that shortly after I raised my concerns, several new reviews appeared emphasizing how "professional" John Hardin is, including one from a family member. That response does not reflect meaningful accountability or transparency. I am sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision before joining this gym. Edit: I have still been unable to get confirmation that my membership has been fully canceled. Since posting this review, additional glowing reviews have appeared, while the prior review from a family member I had mentioned has disappeared, which further undermines confidence in how feedback is being handled. I also want to note that I have never left a negative review for a business before--this is very out of character for me. Here's where I have the problem: Cell phone dwellers. Last night I worked on a machine in the middle of four different people sitting on machines cruising their cell phones, taking literally minutes between sets. Tonight, I wanted to work on one, last chest exercise, but that machine was taken by a man with headphones, so occupied with his cell phone he didn't even notice my presence. I decided to return 45 minutes after cardio, and that same machine was taken by a husband-wife team who decided that instead of taking turns, it was social hour and chatting time. I wasn't really paying attention to the guy, but one man was in the 30 minute workout room, sitting on his phone. He was there when I went to the drinking fountain, when I started the treadmill - and 8 minutes later. Never actually saw him do a set. The positive: the place is very clean, there are a ton of cardio machines, the hours are great, and they generally have two of every machine. I'd rather have "lunks" than people more interested in cell phones than actually exercising.

I paid to be on the waitlist and figured if it didn't open up I could use it at their other location. Well you can't and the location I paid for the classes are booked at least a week to 10 days in advance which doesn't work for me and they won't refund me so I can use it at the other club Pilates location. So they can have my $35 and I will never give them future business out of principle.
