With 90 minutes until the next meeting, it's time to spend a bit of time working off the calories. I popped across the street from Pettibone and stopped in here. After checking in and then some stretches, I spent 30 minutes on the PF Express workout circuit. Not all Planet Fitness locations have the Thirty Minute Circuit so this was nice and pleasant. All the equipment worked, I had no problems at 10am on a weekday with most people at work. After, a quick shower and I was back on my way. I think they've fixed the showers noted in other reviews, it worked just fine. My only complaint? The shower curtains need to actually close all the way across the shower. Well I have to drop the star rating down now! The business owner decided to instead of taking turns with a locker room being down and exercising equality have the men stay outside, this is an injustice to the women that workout here. They shutdown the men's locker room during construction and put portaJohn's outside. Now that the rooms are done the women's room will be shutdown for the same construction and the men's will be temporarily the women's until construction is done. Portajohn's still outside in the cold for the men and no shower yet again. I spoke to staff and it is set in stone. I will be looking for a new gym. read more

Hell no. Gym is soooo dirty. I went to shower and one shower had so much crap on the floor it would take a shaver to clean. I let the shower run for 20 minutes and no hot water , one toilet was flooding all over the floor , when I went to the floor counter I waited 10 minutes and the employee was standing outside talking to his friends , I told him about the shower and he said no one's ever said anything about it before but I see someone wrote a review 6 months ago saying the same thing , he said he'll tell the manager and they needed to get a 3rd party plumber whatever that means. , planet fitness needs to pull there name in case someone new comes to this club first. It's a disaster. And employees are rude and when I got there to swipe in I said hello but the girl at the counter was laughing with two girlfriends and didn't even acknowledge I was there. I remember I went to this gym two years ago and it was just as bad so I thought I would give it a second try.. but now it's even worse , this gym needs to close down it's obvious the owners and the manager. Don't even know where to start. Floors walls fixtures, black card area have all been tore up for over six months no signs of anything being replaced or repaired. what televisions do work aren't synced to the channel they're supposed to be and the sound doesn't work on half of them. Light fixtures missing lights burn out for over four months in the showers. Only one shower has a light. I have replaced the showerhead in there twice in a year and a half. 1/4 of total area blocked off with tarps for seven months. when it's very cold, they let a few people live there. The help even though they seem nice don't really do anything but sit and play on the phone sleep or who knows what. most of us have moved to another planet fitness hopefully until they decide to finish their upgrades or maintenance. read more

This was my gym over the holidays. I was here every other day for almost two weeks. It's was a great experience! I love being a Black Card member because I can visit Planet Fitness when I travel. This club is great! Lots of equipment in great working order, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The women's locker room is spacious, clean, and easy to use. I highly recommend this Planet Fitness location. Check the hours because they are not open late night on the weekends but are open 24/7 during the week. read more

I've been coming to this gym for over a year now, there's no glitz or glam about it but I mean...it's a gym! A lot of Planet Fitness franchises advertise 24/7 hours; this gym is a little different. Their weekend hours throw that off. The gym is always really clean and the staff is friendly. They are always playing music overhead in case you forget your headphones (workout CANCELLED in my opinion). And there are plenty of tv's mounted to keep your eyes engaged. I wish this gym would get rid of the ab center or 12 minute workout area and host classes. I don't see either area utilized often, and think people would really appreciate expert lead classes to reach their fitness goals. Although I have the black membership, I've yet to use the massage chairs or tanning beds. If you're looking for a gym to meet your basic needs: variety of equipment, free weights, not having to fight for machines and clean... this is a really good fit! read more

Cheated my wife, said she had 3 accounts. She cancelled in October of 2023 and turns out they kept charging her. We checked it was in the books she had cancelled. Said 2 accounts closed one open. So he closed the one open. Also June of last year charged her double for the annual fee had two charged not combined two of the same charges! Manager could not explain how that could happen. Going to be funny if I have to sue then and subpoena all the staff that were standing there when I was there to court...... its not fun being questioned on the stand, knowing you must tell the truth. But seems they don't care, not one phone call asking, nothing. Stay far away from this place! Apparently they do let biological men in the womans changing area. A friend was told corporate allows it so they have to. Check photos on their reviews, dirty toilets, dirty in side, they don't clean tanning beds one girl was using a bed someone tried to get in, she said I am using this. I've been a member since late 2011 as a gym newbie. The things that attracted me to PF in Dayton were pricing, showers, and the hours. Overall, the place is pretty clean, employees usually greet you coming and going, most people re-rack the weights when finished and wipe down their equipment, which is nice. I've never really noticed the issues with the A/C over the years, but when things break (faucets in the guys' restroom, drinking fountain), they tend not to get fixed very quickly. I've never seen the lunk alarm go off, so contrary what you may hear online, not every location seems to be really picky on that front. All the equipment is in pretty good condition, but as I've become a regular at the gym, more free weights would be a plus. In general, a really good place for the price! I definitely find it a good value. read more

Do NOT sign up with Planet Fitness unless you like fraudulent billing and shady business practices. Over a year and a half ago, I lost my job. We canceled our membership. They kept billing us randomly. We keep calling them telling them we canceled why are you billing us? They keep saying they have no record of the cancellation, we have to come and cancel. 3rd time this problem comes up again, we get a new bank card. They still find a way to charge us again and insist again no record of cancellation. We say we will sign what ever they want to stop our membership, but they lose "record" of it. Now they say we back owe them for nothing even though they can see we haven't been there in almost 2 years. They say no problem if you have a copy of the cancellation you can provide... no I don't it was 2 years ago. They say we can't cancel until we talk to a manager now, but there is no manager to talk to and they won't give you a number. Once they have your bank information they will charge you forever even if you cancel. read more

Okay so pretty sure I played the yearly fee at the beginning of the year and I'm noticing another 3199 on my account which it mean the yearly fee possible and then plus my normal monthly fee 2199 so to call and verify this I get an answering system and then at the end of it it says messages are full but not even checking their messages and deleting them so other people can call in the leave a message for a call back very frustrating. read more

DISCLAIMER: **This review is based solely on the fact that I only went there once as the hotel I was staying at offered free passes.** I really expected this gym to be a dump based on the commercials I've seen and for their advertised very low prices. What a pleasant surprise to walk in, see the place clean (I did not use the locker room or bathroom though, so not sure about those areas), and see equipment that actually worked. The music they played was a decent variety, although I could have definitely lived without the country music. The equipment is not brand spanking new with all the bells and whistles, but it gets the job done. Employees seemed pleasant enough. I just wished I had witnessed the "Lunk Alarm" go off... maybe next time I'm in town, I'll slam some weights down to the ground and see if the alarm actually works. read more

I've tried to cancel with this location, but now I'm getting the run-around. I went into the Airway location filled out the cancellation form and tried to pay the buy out fee, but was told they couldn't accept the payment until the paperwork has been processed, that's fine. I called this afternoon because I haven't heard from Planet Fitness and they tell me they don't have my cancellation request form so they can't cancel my membership. I explained to Lindsey what I was told when I came into the gym last week and she still insists she doesn't have my form. Now that they've wasted time its so close to my monthly fee to be due, they will probably charge me for this month on top of the buy out fee. People stay away from Planet Fitness, this place is beyond horrible and I'm not sure how they stay in business. Will be reporting them to BBB. Just to follow up, I've went into this location again last asking for a copy of my cancellation request, and they can't locate it! HI was charged the cancellation fee and monthly membership as well. I joined this location about 6 weeks ago. Although I haven't had a gym membership in about 5 years, I have been a member of 3 other local gyms in the last 15 years or so. I decided to join PF based on location, hours and cost. I joined online and had not seen the property in person prior to deciding to join. I am just now seeing all the negative reviews and decided to give my two cents. I have not experienced anything very negative in my visits. All machines have been in working order to my knowledge. I am almost always greeted by the staff upon arrival and usually wished a good day upon exiting. I have only had two questions for the staff and both were answered thoroughly and in a friendly manner. The locker rooms are always tidy, although I have heard from my workout partner the showers are cold. I can agree with other posts that the water fountain is warmer than I like after a workout. We used to be members of another gym in the area (look at my past reviews for that experience!) and decided that we needed to find another. Looking for a gym is a daunting task, I felt like we were going shopping for a used car in that most of the places try to schmooze you with the "look how much value you're getting" sales techniques and then offer you a "one day only" deal to cut the crazy enrollment fees and then hit you with a long term contract, ugh! My wife happened to see Planet Fitness as we were driving by and we decided to check it out since it was close to our house, very glad we did! They've really found a niche here with the no pressure, no salesman, low prices concept. We were shocked at just how low pressure and easy it was, they let us just walk around check things out, they answered our questions, and said when we decided we could even sign up on line. So many other gyms are full of gym rats that just want to see and be seen, more like a meat market than a place to go to get in shape, one of reasons for leaving the last place. Planet fitness prides themselves in offering a "judgment free" atmosphere where everyone, no matter what their level of fitness. This particular location is very very clean and it seemed to me that there were no broken machines, which was another reason we left the last gym. The staff have been super friendly and helpful, great customer service! As for value, we really like that for $19 a month we get full use of the gym (24 hours through the week!), bring a guest anytime (very cool!), unlimited tanning, massage chairs, use your membership at any of their clubs, and free fitness training, way more value than any other club that I can think of! So, if you're in the market for a new gym and want something a little different from the rest of the places in town, check them out! read more

They have a massive sign on their front door that says "OPEN 24/5" they close at 9pm on Friday. I'm not normally one to complain much but this location is the worse that I have ever been to. This is my home location and I wish there was another near by. The showers are always cold, the water fountain is always warm or broken and the air conditioning sucks. Some of the staff is nice but there is never enough of them to run this busy location properly. I have come in multiple times to talk to the general manager and he is never there and I have also emailed him because a staff member told me that was the best way to reach him and no response. It was very warm in there. Filled my water bottle at the fountain. Luckily I took a sip before working out. Water tasted mildewy like the filter hasn't been changed in forever. Told staff and they just said okay that they would let someone know. I suggested they put an out of order sign up. Don't think they did - I went back, got my things and am driving 20 plus minutea to Huber Heights. Also, the arc machines are really old - didn't stay long enough to say abput other ewuipment. This gym is nothing but average. However, I suppose I am biased because of the Planet Fitness I actually signed up at, Milford OH and is brand new with 24 hour access all with Diamond tanning beds, the same from Palm Beach! Therefore I will give them a pitty star. The hours here are ridiculous, 12AM-9PM (and actually they close early half the time) I'm actually sitting here in the parking lot at 8PM writing this review. Seriously. I'm a little annoyed by them closing an hour early, it's a Saturday evening. This place is small and the location isn't very nice. Some of the machines were broken when I visited last, which happens I suppose. It's on the run down side. Tanning beds are older. This review is for the facility at Airway and Centerville. Both places are dirty and need a thorough cleaning. The tanning beds SUCK, I have complained for a year now to have them change the bulbs in the beds and they only change 10 bulbs at a time vs the 40 that are in the beds. You don't get a tan, unless you go everyday and then you barely get tan. I suggest transferring your membership or starting your membership at the Sugarcreek facility, it is clean and they change their bulbs on a regular basis. Since I cant get a response from the OWNER of these facilities I will be transferring my membership so someone else that cares about their place will get my money. read more

This gym discriminates ! After I showed my out of state Id I was told that I could not bring my water into the gym in the one gallon container it was purchased in. There were several other people , clearly regulars, that also had one gallon water bottles exactly the same . I was told that they spill easily? There were in fact several others that would spill much easier , some without caps . The bottom line is that I didn't "look like he part" ; wasn't a local and they spotted me and singled me out. I wouldn't work out at that gym again if it was filled with free gold bars !! Discrimination at its worst. Don't ever , ever , ever give people like this your hard earned money. In response to your response why isn't that rule enforced with all that are in the gym ? I was the only one singled out. Your response was weak and very vague . You get what you pay for.... and that's not much. Save yourself the stress and go anywhere else! The sign-up and yearly "processing" fees are steep in comparison to the low monthly fees. The basic package limits you to one location, not all locations. If you move, ou must show up in person to cancel. They will not work with you at all on any of this. Very poor! read more

Going into summer #3 working out at this location and it looks like we will not have AC again in the gym. Yesterday I couldn't even work out it was so hot it made me sick. I have joined plenty of gyms in my day and have visited multiple planet fitness in the Dayton area, Cleveland area and Erie, PA. This is by far the worst...its never clean. If you want to shower start the water half way through your workout so you can at least have luke warm water...I even referred them to someone that would fix their water system. The equipment is hit or miss on what works and how long it takes to fix it...oh and I tanned here today it was so hot I stopped early and the room temperature was close to 100. I love this gym I have been at this location on and off since it opened but at the same time I'm going through another summer with no A.C. and feeling sick half way through every workout cause the heat... read more

I am very content with this facility in Airway shopping center. The daytime staff headed by Gina has always been friendly and courteous. I would recommend this gym for affordability and adaptability to most levels of desired fitness.
