Here's what you get for $450pp: :: 90min+ of standing around happy houring, aka getting you drunk so you don't know how bad the experience is. I didn't drink so i was keenly aware, as were others who left mid-dinner (shout out to the awesome local kombucha peeps!!) :: Only during the last 20 minutes of that were small bites brought out, and they went so fast I got 1. :: Then stand around listening to the life story of the 20-something who just joined this month and is managing the events. Then walk over to the table and listen to the story of another 20-something who manages front of house. Thank goodness the location was beautiful while they were delaying our 200m walk over to the table :: finally sit down to cold rolls sitting atop the table and wait 20 minutes for a half cup of beet salad (the first "course") :: wait another 30 minutes for an excessive amount of mediocre, cold fish without any side dishes while the temperature is lowering to 50-degrees on the windy coast. :: wait another 30min for an equally wasteful amount of duck, also with no side dishes. :: and to finish the experience off, a gourmet popsicle! What a joke.

Attended the OITF in Palo Alto in June at the Hidden Villa. This was our first and last time. The…read morecocktail hour and a half in the olive grove was nice with a signature cocktail or wine. The passed appetizers were mediocre at best, cellophane crab roll (very fishy tasting), bland deviled egg and some cold and hard cornbread cup with avocado filling. The tour of the farm was standing in the field listening to someone discuss sustainable farming. Groups then formed two lines to enter the dining space, the access to the plates you bring vs the ones they provide created a bottleneck. Quite a challenge for a party of four to find a way to sit together. The first course was on the table as we sat down. It appeared that the family style portion was to serve eight people per table. Vegetables with a spinach dip and sesame bread/cracker was fine. We then waited as other tables to the right and left of ours got served grilled stone fruit with burrata cheese. As we did not get a plate the folks on either side tried to pass us any left of theirs but hardly any was left. At this point we had also not been served any wine despite the wine maker/rep was at our table talking up the wine. About 15 mins after it was clear we weren't getting a plate we began to inform folks that there must have been some mix up. Apparently servers were assigned tables but ours was missed? One very long row of tables, 8 to a table but they just couldn't figure it out. At this point I should mention the the sun is still very strong and they had tried to position umbrellas every so often but as the sun set the umbrellas had to be tilted down and that would cause them to bump into the folks sitting nearby. So either you had the sun shining directly on you or you were ducking way from an umbrella corner. The second course was average. At this point they realize they have been forgetting our table and we receive some wine and the entree which was beef that was cold and tough. There was plenty of this but much was not eaten. Finally, we move onto dessert which was a berry tart and again was okay. At this point they have taken our plates to be washed and we retrieve them on the way out to the parking lot. As we arrive at our car one of us decides to walk to the executive port a potties before the hour long drive home only to find they had already been removed. I understand from friends who attended OITF on the beach that they had a wonderful time. I had hoped this was just a bad night/chef/venue for them. I sent them a request to provide feedback but was ignored. At this price point our experience was very poor. We have been fortunate to travel globally and have had some amazing experiences but also some very poor experiences. Unfortunately, this one was sub par on the food, the service and the venue. I just got a response from the business owner that they never got an email from me. That is true as I reached out via their website and asked for someone to call me and provided my contact info. They asked that I email them but honestly my review says it all.

I had DJ Joey dj my wedding and could not have been more disappointed…read more For starters I should have known to verify things after he tried to tell us there was no "clean" version of our grand entrance song and we may want to change it. I was pretty set on this song so I researched for myself and was able to find the clean version on 3 different platforms in about 60 seconds. Another thing is that I have never heard of a DJ who doesn't take requests... I guess we are supposed to know every song our guests are going to want to listen to beforehand. He was unable to take a request for a song that a lot of our guests wanted to hear. The biggest problem of the night was that he played the wrong song for my father daughter dance. We put the very title of the song and what version on the document we shared with him and even had a meeting to go over all of it. If there were ever any doubts he should have reached out to confirm he had the right song and clarify. I really hope this isn't a thing that has happened to a lot of couples he's DJ'd for because it absolutely ruined the moment. That was one of the moments I was looking forward to most because the song had a lot of meaning being that it was my stepfather I was dancing with. He seemed to be more worried about other things like asking us and all of our vendors if we would have an umbrella for him at ceremony even after we already told him we would take care of it. He also kept saying how he would be like "our second wedding planner" and tried to interject himself into things that did not pertain to him. He should probably focus more on making sure he does the DJ part right. Overall I was very disappointed with the experience and would not recommend him. He didn't even have the curtesy to apologize to me after my husband let him know he played the wrong song.

On the day of my wedding, the reception setup was exactly as I had imagined--floating candles and my favorite flowers, baby's breath, creating a magical forest-inspired atmosphere. There was a small hiccup when my wedding cake arrived--it looked beautiful, but the color palette wasn't quite what I had envisioned unfortunately. However, Rebecca worked her magic with her own dried flowers, and I ended up with a completely new cake that was a much better match for the theme. It feels like it was just yesterday, even though it's been a year. Thank you again for making my dream wedding a reality!

Rebecca was absolutely amazing helping me plan everything, thinking of things that I never would have thought of, helping me to deal with last-minute stressors, and managing our day perfectly. So many people came up to me to tell me how awesome our wedding planner was, and how well-run everything was at our wedding. We are SO appreciative. She knows all the other vendors in the area, and had fantastic suggestions for who we used. She also knew our venue really well, so helped us iron out all the little details that needed to be figured out. I don't think I realized how much goes into planning a wedding before I planned my own wedding, and there's no way we could have done it without Rebecca! I was really stressed before our wedding with all of the last minute prep, and Rebecca knew exactly what needed to happen and helped me feel so taken care of. The day of the wedding I literally didn't worry about anything because her team was so on top of it, we had a perfect magical day!

We decided on face painting, a glitter bar and time for entertainment. Gale was our assigned fairy; she reached out a few days before our event. The morning of, we found out very last minute that we had to change our venue due to rain and Gale was flexible and was right on pace - after a quick text to her, she showed up as the new location on time. She arrived in a very festive Encanto/Mirabel outfit; our location change ended up being to our home and garage. Gale led an entertaining puppet show (several other parents thought for a short while that her rabbit puppet was a real animal) - kids and parents enjoyed it! The kids loved her artistry with her glittery tattoos on their face and hands. Her balloon animals were also a huge hit. It was fantastic to have 1 person with so many great skills to keep kids happy. As my husband and I were running the party, we loved the fact that we were able to keep ~25 2 to 5 year olds entertained for the 3 hour party (2 hours during which Gale was there). It was the best decision to have hired her. Booking with the company was also very easy and organized; I highly recommend it and would do it again. Thanks Gale for making our kid's birthday special and fun, and to the team at Happily Ever Laughter for being so organized and thoughtful. Worth it!!
