I had DJ Joey dj my wedding and could not have been more disappointed. For starters I should have known to verify things after he tried to tell us there was no "clean" version of our grand entrance song and we may want to change it. I was pretty set on this song so I researched for myself and was able to find the clean version on 3 different platforms in about 60 seconds. Another thing is that I have never heard of a DJ who doesn't take requests... I guess we are supposed to know every song our guests are going to want to listen to beforehand. He was unable to take a request for a song that a lot of our guests wanted to hear. The biggest problem of the night was that he played the wrong song for my father daughter dance. We put the very title of the song and what version on the document we shared with him and even had a meeting to go over all of it. If there were ever any doubts he should have reached out to confirm he had the right song and clarify. I really hope this isn't a thing that has happened to a lot of couples he's DJ'd for because it absolutely ruined the moment. That was one of the moments I was looking forward to most because the song had a lot of meaning being that it was my stepfather I was dancing with. He seemed to be more worried about other things like asking us and all of our vendors if we would have an umbrella for him at ceremony even after we already told him we would take care of it. He also kept saying how he would be like "our second wedding planner" and tried to interject himself into things that did not pertain to him. He should probably focus more on making sure he does the DJ part right. Overall I was very disappointed with the experience and would not recommend him. He didn't even have the curtesy to apologize to me after my husband let him know he played the wrong song. read more

We spoke with Joey about our wedding and loved his vibe. It seemed like he was immediately on the same page as us. We decided to go with All Occasions, and had such a wonderful experience. Joey did a fantastic job both before and after the dance floor opened up. The ceremony sound was flawless as far as I (bride) could tell, and his timing was on point all night. He understood the vibe we were going for, and made great music choices for us. Once it was time to get out on the dance floor, he kept the party going until it was time to close down our venue! There were several people my husband was shocked to see out on the dance floor for a good portion of the night because they never cut loose like that. It was clear that Joey had a talent for gauging the crowd and keeping the energy up. My photographers commented that they hadn't seen people dance so long and so hard as a couple of our family members, and while a lot of that has to do with their stamina, a lot of that had to also do with the music choices Joey made. In addition to Joey's music services, we also added on the photo booth to our package. That was also a huge hit with the guests, and we now have so many fun and crazy photos to enjoy and share with the family. I did several rounds in the booth myself, and even got a friend that NEVER takes photos to join me because of all the fun props they brought. Our attendant kept everything running smoothly so we could all enjoy it throughout the night. The package also included dance floor lights, which added a lot of energy and ambiance to the dance floor, as well as some amazing drama lighting to our photos! Joey DJ'd our wedding. We gave him a huge list of song options weeks ahead of time to choose from for both the reception/dinner and dancing songs, as well as a list of all our guests song requests. He played a lot of songs that were not on the any of the lists, which was a bummer since we gave him so many options. The songs he chose weren't appealing to our guests, so nobody was dancing during his song choices. He didn't play very many of the songs our guests requested. The father of the grll.went up to him and asked him to play the song that he had pre-requested, and Joey told him no. He also denied the mother of the groom the song she had pre-requested. He denied several of my guests, which was disappointing because that was the whole purpose of making him a guest song request list ahead of time. At times he was hard to get a hold of in the weeks leading up to the wedding, not responding to emails until I had to personally call and speak to Brian to get a response. Another HUGE let down: he also mispronounced our last name when introducing us as a couple!!! So now all our wedding videos have our name mispronounced. Unfortunately, I was wouldn't recommend his services and was disappointed with his work and the way he interacted with our guests. read more

I volunteered to find a DJ in the Santa Cruz area for our annual Holiday Party and immediately referenced Yelp to see who was out there. Came across AOE and read all the great reviews but was still skeptical so I shot Brian an email from his Yelp page. Would you believe I had a response from him within 10 minutes? Whaaaaa??? Brian answered multiple emails with question after question and even joined a conference call to tell us more about himself and the services he has to offer. His enthusiasm and personal involvement that he showcased on a phone call won us over. However, I'm a skeptical dude and was praying that he wasn't all talk so I asked for a sample of his DJ abilities. He directed me to Soundcloud where I could listen to some of his work. Whaaat Whaaaaaat!!! I was literally jamming to and sharing his link with others in the office to see if they were as impressed as I was. Should we book him, I asked... The answer was a resounding Hell Yeah!!! But still being the "worry-wart" I kept thinking if this dude doesn't deliver at the party I'm done for. Fast forward to the night of our event. We held it in the Coconut Grove Sun Room at the Boardwalk that was absolutely the perfect venue and decorated beyond anything I could've imagined. Brian had his set up rigged with club-lighting, a smoke machine and even brought some up-lighting to further enhance our Enchantment Under the Sea theme. It was magical, and believe me I've never said that before. Albeit to say, we could not wait to finish dinner and get the party started. Then it happened... the lights dimmed and DJ Beebo cranked up his jams and it was ON!!! Club EA Holiday Party was in full effect!!! Brian or DJ Beebo performed as advertised and my skepticism melted away in the beats, jams and mixes he played that kept everyone shaking their booties all night long. Brian and All Occasions Entertainment is LEGIT. You will not regret hiring him for your event. This is the occasion that has made me take the time to stop just reading reviews and write one of my own. We hired Brian to D.J. our wedding on 9/21/13. From the start of the process Brian was beyond helpful. He really goes above and beyond just playing music. He helped guide us through the entire process and with setting up an itinerary for the big day. All of the guidance he offered us took so much of the stress away from the whole process, and knowing that someone so on top of it was there to make the day run smooth was priceless. When it came to the day itself Brian helped make sure the day moved along on schedule. Who needs a wedding planner if you hire Brian. On the day itself Brian showed up early and helped set up an amazing display of lights that really helped make the room look perfect. He also accommodated having to move the sound from the outside ceremony to the inside dancing area. All of the sound quality for everything was flawless. Once the music got started there was not a single bad song played all through the night. His wide knowledge of music really shined and played just the perfect mix of songs. From the time he started he had the dance floor going all night long. After the party was over he quickly took down his equipment and left zero mess behind. During and after the wedding we received numerous compliments about the music and also just how friendly our D.J. was. Those moments make you feel very great about your decisions. During the 3 months of planning Brian was very responsive to emails, followed up on action items and kept us abreast of budget. There were never any "surprises" in terms of cost and he communicated clearly on everything. All Occasions Entertainment was a complete full-service one-stop vendor. Brain managed everything: lighting, tables, bar, staff, entertainment, sound, DJ, etc. He made it all very easy. One SPECIAL entertainment item Brian offers is the "BUBBLE GIRL" (see video link). This is a unique over-the-top spectacle that is not readily available in this area (i.e. normally has to be sourced from L.A. at a huge expense). I booked with all occasions entertainment for what seemed like so last minute because my dj had cancelled on me for my wedding and I never thought I would be saying this but I am so grateful that he did that because I found this amazing company. I was first talked to by Brian and he was so warm and welcoming, he redirected me to our dj Joey and let me tell you, if you're looking for a high energy and all around amazing guy to book for your event I would one million percent ask for Joey! But he would still answer them kindly and patiently- even though he knew he addressed those topics with me, day 1. So, take better notes than I did. :) He was on time to the wedding, played the music we wanted as well as get a read on the guests to get an idea what they like and he picked songs on his own from that. He phased out of songs and seamlessly phased in songs sooooooooo well. Our wedding guests wanted to buy a CD from him of the exact stuff he was playing for the dance!
