I set up my shoot with Carey (who is quite swift in responding) via email and she was willing to work with me to find what worked for me and my needs. For the purpose of my shoot, I was looking for new yoga photos for my website and social media. We settled on a package that worked for me, a date and a time. She suggested places where we could take our photos and gave me pointers so I can do my own research in finding a place to take my photos too. On the day of the shoot, she was warm and inviting. She allowed me to warm up while she warmed up with her shots. I felt comfortable in front of her and her camera (let's face it, it's tough sometimes!). With "...and fake laugh" prompts, they turned out to be real laughs! Finally, the photos. They are stunning. Her lighting and the angles in which she took her photos really made the photos pop and gave me exactly what I wanted for my website, social media and business. We made a very last-minute decision to still honor our original date and we decided to go ahead with a zoom online wedding! I found Kelly's page about offering face time photoshoots while searching for Zoom wedding ideas. I messaged her two days before we were planning to have the ceremony and she responded right away. We set up a video chat so we could go over what she could offer through a face time photo session coverage of our wedding. She was able to be on face time throughout the entire wedding and was able to capture pictures of our ceremony and then we had a photoshoot afterward to get some nice couple shots, all while she was on facetime. It was easy to do with the camera on the tripod during the ceremony and gave great directions on how to hold the camera to my mother who was helping out during the photo session after the ceremony. No one could have predicted that we would be having weddings online or would have a need for facetime photoshoot and I think that it's awesome that Kelly was able to find a creative way to provide photography services within the limitations and guidelines of social distancing during this pandemic. It is amazing what can be accomplished with technology these days! The photos turned out better than we could have expected and will provide us with a lasting memory of this unique time in our lives. Kelly was very professional throughout the entire time and has quickly adapted to this new way of taking pictures. The photos I saw had this retro style, had wonderful contrast and I found there was always warmth in their subjects. There is actual depth to their portraits and these ladies are able to capture the nuances of every emotion that occurs on your special day. Take a look at their IG/Yelp review photos and you'll see that they look like Renaissance portraits set in the streets of Brooklyn. When my husband and I met up with Jessica, she made us both feel at ease, as we've never had our photos taken professionally together before. The tips she gave us made us feel more comfortable and made the photographs turn out phenomenal! I love each and everyone of our photos from our engagement/wedding, but my favorites are definitely the candid ones. If you're looking to stay on a budget for your wedding, take my advice and do not skimp on the photographer. Thirty years from now, when you are looking back at your wedding photos, I HIGHLY doubt you're going to regret the money you spent on your priceless wedding photos.
