His portfolio of work impressed us with his cutting-edge creativity and use of distinctive backgrounds that showcase the couples in wedding photos. Ricky's ability to blend contemporary and traditional wedding themes appealed to us, and when we sat down with him for a consult, I felt he understood our wishes perfectly, considering we are a same-sex couple. Neither of us is particularly used to being posed and photographed, especially in romantic vignettes, but Ricky's coaching and suggestions felt so appropriate for the occasion, and his attention to the smallest details revealed his artistry in capturing our personalities and our relationship. In the outdoor session preceding our ceremony, Ricky was totally onboard with using local settings that are familiar and significant to us, in both natural and urban surroundings, and he approached the project as an artist constructing a scene on canvas. Throughout the brief church ceremony, Ricky was very attentive to the proceedings, and he made sure his camera was unobtrusively able to capture every important moment, including our vows and exchange of rings. At our informal reception dinner, Ricky photographed our guests in lovely candid shots, in addition to having family members pose together. Looking over the proofs, which were available in just three weeks, it was as if we were seeing our event for the first time through the observant and astute eyes of our wedding photographer. We first met John Rizzo at my husband's brother's wedding in 2012, where he had done the wedding…read moreand engagement package, to the fullest. The photos were elegant, and sharp, and he truly captured the feeling, and crowd, and the fun of their wedding. When we started planning our wedding in 2013, I didn't even research other photographers. I got in touch with John, first, hoping he could work with us, and would work with us. He got back to me immediately, and even remembered us from the wedding in 2012--of course my husband was the best man, so it helped :-)--and although he was working on a project in Africa, he was happy to talk to us about our needs, and the estimates and dates, etc. We actually wanted something a bit unique in terms of a wedding photographer, and a special type of package. He was so happy to accommodate, and work with our needs. Being so busy before the big day, it was wonderful to receive an email from John confirming the when and where's. On the day, John was early, and immediately went to work capturing every second, and interesting visual. As the bride, I didn't even feel him there, although when I saw the photos, he was EVERYWHERE. And captured every moment...so many more moments than I could have ever been aware of. There were some photos that were so amazing of guests at the wedding that we had them printed and framed for them. Of course there were so may wonderful portraits of us, the bride and groom, and the family, (although let's be honest...always a bit scary to look at so many pictures of yourself...:-) that we are still realizing that we need another printed, and another, and another. After the wedding, we received our photos and package from John within a few weeks!! It was amazing! He was so enthusiastic....and his work so beautiful...that I made a mental note in case I had any need for a photographer in the future. When my husband turned 50, we decided to host his extended family of 26 people ranging in age from 1 to 91 at a local hotel named Mohonk. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to capture our children with their cousins and all 6 of their grandparents. In an absolute stroke of luck, John was available the Saturday I needed him because he was shooting a Friday night wedding that weekend. John brought a lovely assistant, who also had a camera and took beautiful shots from angles very different from John's. He met us at 3 pm down by the beach and took casual, fun and lively pictures. Then after a brief break to clean up, we all met for the more formal pictures. He came up with some really creative ways to include the physical beauty of the resort into the pictures. There are pictures on the balconies, throughout the gardens and even spread out within the garden taken from up high. After we finished the formal portraits, he stayed to take candids at a cocktail party, lobster bake and bonfire. The pictures are beyond stunning and he was incredibly fun and easy to work with. He shoots in a way that focuses on smaller interactions and emotional moments. Absolutely recommended without a moment's hesitation!!!

I heard about Kelly from a friend who used her for her wedding. When I saw the amazing wedding…read morephotos, I hired her to take portraits of my 15 month old. I was so happy with the outcome. You really have to see her pictures to believe how good she is. She got my toddler, who literally wont hold still for a minute, to look like a child model in the photos! :-) She helped me choose some beautiful local outdoor locations to shoot in, and they really added to the portraits. She was very easy to work with and I liked her online picture ordering system. I would use her again for sure. We just used H&H for the 3rd time for a large family celebration. From the start of the day till…read morethe end, Rob, the photographer was everywhere and anywhere getting amazing shots of all of the members of the family. He was patient with difficult family members and organized and creative. His goal was to get the best photos and he was amazing. The videographer was also amazing and captured the entire party. The pre-shoot pictures, done by another photographer, Eric, were also amazing and Eric was also extremely patient and creative and got terrific shots. Working through Larry, the owner, was also extremely easy and a pleasure. H&H is a class act!

We went ahead with H&H for our wedding in July of 2010. We had Eric. The poses he had us do were…read moresuper unnatural and...not having been married before we did not get all the pictures we needed with typical family members. We really would have liked some guidance since as the groom with my new bride: there was no way we would have remembered who we need for photos. Then came the photos and video. Blah! Our friends took way better pictures in both quality and poses! The video was like something from 1980. Static and horrible audio. Again- better stuff came from our family than the videographer. Our friend got married in October and we are now seeing their videos and photos. Our friends used non-fulltime photo/videographers and got 200% better quality than we did with H&H. Sigh. I'm not on a mission to destroy these guys or anything- I'm sure they'll do just fine. However, I would hate to see anyone out there be as dissatisfied as we were.
