After a horrible experience with a local gyno (where she convinced me that I was depressed -I'm not, it's called PMS- and needed to be on happy pills), I've been a bit skeptical of docs. After reading Julia's review, however, I decided Dr. P sounded like my kinda woman, "someone I would love to have a beer with?" say no more. So I scheduled my appointment on Friday and they were able to put me in on Monday. I showed up at 3:30 (my assigned time), fearing I'd end up spending my entire afternoon there. Within 10 minutes I was seen by a nurse and within another 5 Dr. P showed up. She's just awesome. Totally conversational, quick to put you at ease, thorough... We talked about my medical history, she ran through a few exams, prescribed some medicine for my nagging cough, and sent me off for some blood work. I was out of the office by 4:15! After so many years I tell myself that we are among his favorite patients, but it's probably how he makes all his patients feel. I like how I never feel rushed when I'm in the room with the doctor, and if I'm there for one specific issue, he asks me questions about other aspects of my health, ie. what else is going on? My son started with Dr Mike's brother Dr Jay at birth and continued until he aged out of going to a pediatrician (which was a surprisingly sad day for me!) and now he too is doing great with Dr Mike. I hung on, re-joined the meeting a few times, wrote portal messages, etc. No one replied. I also left voicemails and still no response. I wasted almost 2 hours in the hope that someone would surface. But I'm guessing like most doctors today -- they aren't even in the office! So, why would the receptionist schedule me on a day they aren't in the office?! This is my first issue with them over the past year. I started with OMEGA last August and they're usually an excellent office: reliable, professional, and I found them just in the knick of time last summer because my former 'therapist' was only interested in telling me the sordid details of her romantic life and how much she wanted RFK to be president. I see other people are having similar issues recently. I hope this type of negligence doesn't become a trend.
