I waited three weeks and when I arrived, she told me I don't have the prescription you should go home. I was baffled. I asked why she couldn't call the doctor and get it faxed and she said we don't do that. I called my own doctor and asked them to fax it after an hour. I walked out. The receptionist chased me out to the parking lot and asked me if I wanted to reschedule? I said why would I reschedule when I can't get into my original appointment. Two weeks went by and I had a friend of mine called and they said they received the prescription, but nobody advised me about it. I tried to make an appointment and she said I didn't get my discharge papers from my former Physical Therapist. She never mentioned that when I was waiting for an hour the first time I went. Two weeks later she finally gets. The discharge letter tells me to come the day after Christmas at 9 AM. I go at 8:45 and I was told it was closed because it's the day after Christmas. I was infuriated so I went back later that day to get all my paperwork so I could go somewhere else. She had the nerve to tell me that I missed my appointment at 10 that day. I don't know what is wrong with her or why they have somebody so stupid working the front desk, but I will never recommend or advise anybody to go to that facility. Because of this girl, I am six weeks without any physical therapy for a broken femur. If this is the way she treats people on a walker she shouldn't be working in that physical therapy field because she has no compassion whatsoever.

However, they have been under new management for a couple of months. All the previous providers have left the practice. I was never notified that my provider left the practice. In fact, photographs of my former provider and others are still on the webpage, so how was I to know they left? I never received a phone call or a letter in the mail. I found out about this recently when my insurance request requested a prior authorization. I went to their new website, and my provider wasn't listed. So I called to ask about this. The first time I called and the phone rang forever with no one picking up the phone. When I was finally able to get through, a young lady answered the phone. I told her about my situation with the prior authorization and she told me that my provider was no longer there. I was told that I had to come in and see a new provider and when I asked why , I was told have a nice day and then hung up on. I wasn't rude; I just had questions, like who my new provider is and why they need me to come in, since I just had an exam two months earlier. And I don't know why, but they called me back 10 minutes later and said they suddenly had an appointment for me the next morning. So I came in to see what was going on. My new provider was very young and I'm not sure how much experience they had. While they were nice, she informed me of the new policies. For example, they began charging for blood draws in the office that had previously been free. It was $35, and now it's down to $15; otherwise, I have to go to another location to have my blood drawn. They put an order for me to have my blood work drawn, even though I just had it drawn 6 to 8 weeks. I asked for a prior authorization which I was told they would do, but after two weeks, I went to my pharmacy and they said they never received one. The front desk used to be helpful, but recently when I went in, everybody was sitting around in a circle talking to each other, pretty much ignoring that I was there. This used to be a very warm, friendly practice that put the patient's needs first. Now, it seems this new management is very business-oriented, looking for ways to make more money at the expense of providing good customer service and focusing on my healthcare needs. I am now leaving this practice, which makes me sad. I feel very sorry for older people who go there. They probably don't know who their provider is anymore and will have to start over with a new provider from the beginning. It's hard to find a good medical practice for your routine healthcare these days, especially in Boca Raton, where everybody is moving towards concierge service. I wouldn't be surprised if this place goes out of business in the next year.

As a result of this delay, the approval was not completed in time, and I was forced to cancel my MRI appointment scheduled for tomorrow. When patients are dealing with pain and waiting for diagnostic testing, delays like this can significantly impact their care and create unnecessary stress and frustration. I hope the office reviews this process so that future patients do not experience similar delays. Again, I appreciate the medical care provided by the doctor and nurse practitioner. My concern is solely with the handling of the authorization process.

At the time it was close to my house the doctor picked me up where the other doctor had me at. The staff is very friendly and they were quick to help me get prior authorization for one of my meds. They don't accept any insurance, so you don't have to deal with the insurance company. None of the other doctors that took insurance wanted to keep the medication I'd been given before. They wanted to do procedures to run up the cost of treatment I've been going to Affordable Pain Management for over a year and I'm totally pleased with their service.
