She caused severe blood loss during surgery and told me when I got home to treat the anemia she caused by telling me to eat lots of lentils...lentils are high in nickel. It took a month of IV treatments to resolve the anemia. She aggressively treated an infection I never had with meds which started to cause damage. AVIID HER WHEREVER SHE WORKS!!!

My advice to anyone going into a CFE is to be objective and do not give conclusions based on opinions or feelings. Answer questions directly and provide all supporting documentation and information that allows the CFE make the conclusion. Also, do not be afraid to admit fault. It is not an admission of guilt but a sign of self-awareness, which goes a long way to being a "better than average parent". This is not about you, it is about your children. I would absolutely recommend Dr. David Weinstock every time to conduct a CFE, especially for someone who is in a contentious custody dispute with someone who attempts to manipulate the system; however, I would not recommend him if this person is you.

During COVID, she became very ill and was placed on hospice. After caring for her at home for 9 months, we were advised to find a long-term care facility. I briefly placed her at another facility in San Rafael, but knew within hours it wasn't the right fit. Finding South Marin was a turning point. My mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer, kidney failure, and dementia. The care, compassion, and respect she's received here have been exceptional. A special thank you to Kelly, the social worker, who is knowledgeable, supportive, and truly cares. Carina, the activities director, is also wonderful and brings so much kindness to the residents. All the nurses, assistants, and staff have been wonderful. I never imagined putting my mom in a SNF, but I feel very lucky she's at South Marin. As a former long-term care volunteer ombudsman, I also want to add some perspective. I've seen reviews mentioning delays in care. The reality is that staffing shortages are a widespread issue across the industry due to policy and funding challenges. That said, the staff here consistently do their best under difficult circumstances. Their PT (what she tends to need most) is terrific - the PT therapists seem to experience little turnover as the same individuals have provided PT for my mom over several stays. Despite being very busy, the social workers are also very helpful. And Dr. Susan Nguyen (the hospitalist there) is wonderful - caring, smart, and on it. Rehab isn't fun, the facilities are all really busy and frustrations are inevitable. But we will keep requesting South Marin when my Mom needs it b/c it's the best around.

Came in with 1) torn extensor carpi radialis longus…read more 2) glass in wrist 3) fractured radius Hillary braced the fractured arm and removed the glass from the arm with the torn ECRL (extensor carpi radialis longus), operating right in the area of the torn ECRL without noticing that tear. The problem was presented with symptoms of weakness, visually apparent imbalance, instability, and a deep incision at where the ECRL was cut. Hillary misdiagnosed this injury as a torn TFCC. That misdiagnosis meant that my injury would go untreated. It's been seven years and now, a more skilled and observant doctor quickly diagnosed the problem, ordered an MRI which confirmed his suspicion. Now that the doctor has pointed it out to me, it seems quite obvious to me. This new doctor, however, does not want to repair the problem due to the age of the injury. He thinks it's too old. After breaking my wrist and having to undergo surgery, she guided me through this difficult time with kindness, empathy and support. She was always there when I needed her and kept me informed and optimistic when I was afraid. Her expert surgery skills are beyond reproach. My wrist is now fully functional and the scar is barely noticeable. Her assistant, Emily, was the most helpful regarding disability and work related issues. She was very patient and kind throughout dealing with all of the forms she was asked to fill out. And to top it all off, her onsite hand therapist, Yaffa Meiner, is the BEST! She worked with me for 6 weeks making sure my wrist, hand and arm would be functioning as well as before. She supported me through many teary and worried moments and always made me feel supported.
