I've tried several and all barbecue spots are great but none are as good as Tejas. Tejas opened in 2015 and has received several awards since and in 2025 became recognized by MICHELIN. This did not surprise me and it made sense why none could ever top them. They have wonderful customer service, the feel is very cabin like, family style food, and clean inside and outside. I have stopped by several times over the years and haven't given them a proper review and it was about time. Their brisket is exceptional. What I immediately appreciated about Tejas is how they are unique with their sides. Sides are important. Most barbecue spots across the board have the same sides but each make them a bit different. Tejas offers a unique side, that no one has or any restaurant in general, their Carrot soufflé, it is addicting. I usually order another to go. Their chille relleno sausage is phenomenal. Went back about two weeks ago on a whim and I've already been back twice since. The BBQ is legitimately exceptional now. The burnt ends are amazing--tender, smoky, and packed with flavor. The cheesesteak is awesome, the turkey is surprisingly moist and tasty, and the overall quality is way higher than I remembered. A couple small notes: the poblano sausage was a bit too cheesy for my taste, and the mac and cheese has crushed tortilla chips on top that feel unnecessary (though the base is still solid). Must-orders: Get the chicharrones and queso and ask for a side of Tajín to sprinkle on top--it takes it to another level. The jalapeños at the condiment station are pure fire and delicious. They also have a full bar, so chilling with a cold beer and some top-notch BBQ is the move. The chocolate truffles at the counter are fantastic--you really can't go wrong with any of them. They also have specials if you order four or more items, which is a nice touch. Plenty of seating inside or outside, and there's ample parking right across the street. If you haven't been in a while (or ever), do yourself a favor and give them another shot. I'm glad I did. Solid 4 stars.

This time I tried one of their specials - a soup and sandwich combo for $8.95 - and it completely exceeded expectations. The soup was basically a deconstructed pot pie with a homemade biscuit on top, and the portion was huge. I happened to get the last serving from the pot, so they hooked it up with a little extra instead of letting it go to waste, which I definitely appreciated. What really stood out was how hearty it was. There was way more protein than you'd expect from a typical soup, so it was actually filling and satisfying, not just something light on the side. It had been a couple of years since I had been in. I was greeted by a lady who acted as if she's known me for years. Super friendly. She apologized because the stock was low. I knew it was because everything was delicious. I saw that they had a specialty latte called the Spicy Bee. And oh my goodness this is probably the best iced latte I have ever had. It had hot honey in it...Mmmmmmmm! I also purchased a smoked sausage and cheddar kolache. She said it was still warm cause they just pulled it from the oven. The bread from this kolache was hands-down. The best I've ever had. I did not want to stop eating it. I wanted another one. They should make them into rolls for your Thanksgiving table. They are so delicious. The smoked sausage was also really good. It came from 2 Guys 1 Pit BBQ across the street. Nice snap to it. Next time I want to go earlier so I can see the true variety that they have. Although they still had a pretty good variety at 9:30 on a Wednesday.

I'd make the drive for this one! The coffee wasn't for me. A little watery and didn't have that "OMG- coffee" satisfaction. The ladies behind the counter were nice and took care of me right away. Everything we tried tasted like it had been made that morning, and you could tell there was real attention to quality. The croissants were incredibly flaky with those beautiful buttery layers that practically melted apart. The cookie croissant was easily the star of the visit--warm, gooey, packed with cookie butter, and just enough chocolate to keep it from being overly sweet. The cinnamon roll was soft, rich, and generously frosted without becoming overwhelming. The s'mores cookie was perfectly crisp around the edges, soft in the center, and topped with toasted marshmallow and Hershey chocolate that made it feel nostalgic without being gimmicky. We also grabbed a carrot cake cupcake that was light, moist, and beautifully decorated, plus a few iced coffees and a refreshing fruit tea that paired perfectly with all the pastries. Beyond the food, the atmosphere was bright, clean, and welcoming. It was the kind of place where you can sit with friends over coffee or grab a box of pastries to take home (which you'll probably wish you'd done after the first bite). The main item on the agenda: cinnamon roll. As fate would have it, they had not one, not two, but three different kinds of cinnamon rolls. My wife ordered a standard one and I went with the biscoff version. Both were as heavy as heavy gets. In fairness, any cinnamon roll is going to be heavy, but these were like: two bites and at my limit. Was this more because I also happened to have a heavy lunch? Maybe so. But when I brought home leftovers to eat after dinner, I was still feeling stuffed to the max and unable to finish what I started earlier in the day. We also ordered a macadamia nut cookie and a cupcake, which were both fine. Same for the coffee, though I ordered a very basic iced americano, which is going to taste nearly the same everywhere. I'd come back to try Brit's again, but probably wouldn't go out of my way to do so again. But I may have caught them on a bad day, considering the awesome reviews they've brought in.
