Doors locked. We all waited outside a half-hour extra. I found out later that they had taken down the event posters inside! So they canceled the event in advance & purposely did not notify attendees (Eventbrite = super easy to notify) out of some weird mix of spite & incompetence. Other folks told us later that this org does this often for different events w/ no explanation or apology EVER! Some drove an hour like me just for this event, so they would need a loan to comp these people at current gas prices! BOYCOTT them into non-existence!

I ended up buying two wonderful pieces of artwork at the end of my Colorado trip. I was ecstatic that they were still there from the first time I went. We bought a lovely painting of Pikes Peak. It's hanging up in my kitchen in Madison right now. The other one we bought was of the Kissing Camels and the artist used materials that she found at Kissing Camels as part of the art. It's a really nice space and I hope to come back the next time I'm in Colorado.

I've been to a similar store in Austin and Houston, they ALL have some really neat goodies. I got some art from one of the knitting and crocheting teachers, she did have some of her own hand dyed, but I got art and stickers instead. I found the book room, got one I've looked at for at least 10 years-knitting coffee table size and $$$. $5 was kinda perfect I also got a crochet book. I got some yarn and made out like a bandit with knitting needles for $2 a pair. There was another section close to the register that had packages with several tapestry needles for $1 a package. There were multiple bathrooms (all looked accessible). There was also accessible parking. I was by myself on forearm crutches, the accessibility means so much. Last but far from least, the people. I have the knitting teacher's name at home, but she was GREAT. Also gave me suggestions on yarn stores in Denver. Another awesome lady helped me find a place for my crutches, I was using a basket and they were in the way. When I had questions on some yarn the cashier in rainbow and a huge smile and kind personality got me the yarn specialist....then she helped me carry my hoodies to my car. (Some needles ended up in my carry on. The rest was in a box my friend shipped me.) If you are into crafts at all or read or you need cheap entertainment for kids of all ages. PLUS. The owner, Coral, was so nice and helpful. She did a brief overview and stayed the entire session running the kiln and actively answering questions and giving helpful feedback. The deal included 4 pair of earrings or charms. The earrings were made on copper pennies with enameling in opaque or transparent colors. An extra set can be purchased for $3. It was a great experience, I was able to relax and explore my creativity for 2 hours. I'll return and tell my friends about the classes and open studio time.
