I didn't realize, but we all got to pick the painting we wanted to do, which was different than other painting studios I've gone to where we all do the same painting. I prefer it the way they did it here! When we got there the instructor had outlined the paintings for each of us and we sort of did it paint by numbers style. The actual studio is very beautiful and relaxing with candles, body oils and various other things for sale. They were very accommodating of our various needs (I needed the wi-fi, they turned on the TV for my coworker's kids who were there). They also set up a table for us to bring in our own food. I actually had trouble with contacting a few galleries about a paint party, but definitely no issues here. They contacted me back in 24 hours or my request for information. They then went to answer everything I needed to know. In addition, they were able to make a personalized theme for me and make it easy for all my guest to pay online. They were wonderful! On the day of the event the crew helped the guest and gave a great experience for everyone getting their paint on. They were great at communication and friendly! Atmosphere. My birthday theme was street art, this location definitely went right along with it. Everything about this location is contemporary and just fresh and creative scenario. We had access to two rooms. The room where the paint happened (which could accommodate around 20 to 25 individuals) and the front room to set up for your food, drinks, and just having a more party vibe as well. It was wonderful. For this location all it takes is for you to book your event in advance with a down payment of 105, which is the payment for 3 guest. Individual guest, with a minimum of 10 is $35/each, which you and/or guest can purchase in advance or at the event. This pays for instruction, canvas, and paint. For events you are allowed to bring in your own alcohol and food and set up any way you like! This location is all about customization and I love it. They also allow you to pick your music theme... I gave them a genre and they seriously channeled every song I love! They are musical mind readers and gave that extra touch I loved. Parking. I actually was concerned about parking for my guest at first, being so close to the French Quarters on a Friday night, but it actually turned out to not be a problem. Everyone was able to find nearby street parking and paid parking. So it shouldn't be too many issues in that area. I would definitely do more events in this location. First off you guys you have to find parking. But don't let that one bad issue turn you away from this fun experience. Yes, it was an experience. I really enjoyed myself. The vibe is really positive and fun. The owner was very welcoming and he understood that everyone there were first time painters. He gave us kind of a mini-tutorial about using the different types of brushes and the effects they have on your drawing and the canvas itself. I really appreciated that he was willing to sit through and give everyone advice when needed on how to perfect their Masterpieces. Even though there were alcohol and food many of us still got our masterpieces finished.I felt like a real artist!!! I am one of the troop leaders for our Girl Scout troop. As such I am always on the look out for activities that our girls can participate in and love. I contacted Paint and jRink seeking a session for our girls and they were happy to do it. The location is easy to find, the neighborhood is safe, and above all the actual gallery is endearing. We were greeted by smiling faces, a sunlit room, and jazz music. I had chatty, shrieking girls and neither instructor seemed jarred by it. I found that the sketches that were picked and the pace of the class were age appropriate for the different grade levels and age ranges that make-up our multi-level troop. This place is AWESOME! I went for the first time with my girlfriend and two bottles of white, and I'll be damned if I don't start doing this regularly! The artists leading our class, Jarron and Nicholas, were so friendly and helpful. Even though I am the most unartistic person I know, they helped us through step by step, and I am amazed with my finished piece! I recommend this place to anybody. There was even a little kid in our class; the artists gave him his own sketch and I could tell he had a blast! Not only did I create something I never imagined I could in million years, but it actually has prompted me to pick up the brush at home and see what I can do when left to my own devices! I have to say that this was one of thee worst Paint and Jrink events I've ever been to. I was calling the number because I was running late, traffic was not the best and I couldn't find the place. I received no answer and when I walked in- I was just glanced at and the painter continued the paint. His little helper didn't even acknowledge me and I had to walk up to her to ask for supplies and help. And she was like oh ok-- yeh yeh ok sure and disappeared and it took someone else to notice their behavior to speak up and say excuse me they're missing supplies and canvas.. so the painter says .. oh yeh she's getting them.. so my question is why couldn't she tell me that when I was talking to her? Thennnnn I had to ask for assistance b/c him and the helper was just kicking it up In the back laughing while he's smoking his vape.. the only time they were the most engaged with us was when it was time to leave. I have been to other paint and wines before, but I must say I had an amazing time at Paint and Jrink! My friend and I caught a deal on Groupon and decided to use it. When we walked in we were greeted and asked to sit where we wanted to. There was jazz music playing, which created a very relaxed environment. We actually finished up before two hours. I would recommend Paint and Jrink to anyone. Our instructor Jamie was very patient and helped us get through the process. And I can't forget the janitor (lol)! When I first walked in and saw the canvases and what we were going to be painting, I almost walked out. Very mediocre art at that AND you don't even create your own art. You just paint inside the lines. It's like coloring with paint brushes. So if you want to do your own thing, you can't. Lame. Also the back of my canvas has a big soup can on it, which can be seen through my painting in the white areas. I've been to other paint sessions like this where it is an open canvas and you can see what you are painting so you can sign up for which piece of art you prefer. P&J said they show theirs on there Insta Account but they didn't post any upcoming classes except for 3 months prior. So paid $40 and I'm stuck w/ some jankey piece I can't even give away. The instructor was nice enough and the location is fine. But I won't be coming here again. read more

This was my first experience with a paint while drinking type of class. I had a lot of fun and my painting was really cool when it was done. My only critique is that if you are going to have "drink (jrink)" in your name, you could provide the drink the same as you provide the paint. I had to pay $40 for the paint part and bring my own drink and my own glass! You could could at least have cups!!! C'mon! Other than that, it's really fun! read more

It's hard to know where to start really. We arranged a private session for a large group, which ended up being smaller due to some cancellations. We got charged for the additional people who didn't show but no problem - although annoying it was our issue and they state a minimum number for private parties. However, Paint and Jrink decided to change our venue at the last minute, which was then double booked. This meant that they ended up starting our party an hour late. You got that right folks - we booked a 3hr time slot to do 2 paintings and they didn't set up until an hour after we were supposed to start even though we had booked it 2 months in advance. They then proceeded to tell us to chill out and it would be fine! Not really when you have a group of people waiting around for an hour especially since it was a special occasion. They also threatened to cancel and not set up if we didn't pay the invoice before the session even though we had previously agreed to pay at the venue!! The organization and customer service was pretty poor. We then had only 2 hours for our paintings so were rushed and didn't get a chance to finish them properly. The session itself when we finally started was great fun with friendly staff and a good artist. They helped us out and chatted with the party. However it was vey much NOT WORTH THE HASSLE!!!! read more

I arrived with a friend and a bottle of chardonnay to find an enchanting, airy studio adorned with some of the artist/owner's amazing art. The hosts are professional yet warm and - effortlessly it seems - create an ideal atmosphere for a relaxing and fun night out. While I was there for quality girl time, the painting tutorial is a fun date night as well. The instructor is infinitely talented but doesn't make you feel like a d-bag for painting like a drunken five-year-old. In fact, he helped my friend and I with a few adjustments on our own paintings and encouraged us along the way. I felt like a female Basquiat, but I think that was through the encouragement of the chardonnay. The space is sizeable and has a wonderful energy to it, fabulous for hosting private events as well. These guys couldn't have been more accommodating. My girlfriend decided to surprise me with this painting event and even suggested we paint out in the park. Paint and Jrink had never done that before but loved the idea and were all for it! Unfortunately it rained pretty hard that morning and we couldn't paint outside. So we stayed inside and knocked out a couple of paintings while listening to jazz, drinking champaign, and even put on some football since it was Sunday. Jarren (I'm probably butchering the spelling of his name) was the consummate host! He doesn't micromanage your canvas skills and he will offer any advice you ask for without hesitation. I wish I could give them 0 stars! I bought a groupon for 2 people earlier this month. I called paint & jrink two weeks ago to reserve a place but I was told to call back in an hour or keep checking online because next week's schedule was not up on their website. Three days later their schedule was still not up so I called again. I should have known then that this place is weak. After waiting on the phone for 15 min. I was finally told what their daytime themes and times were for this week. I booked 2 spots for their Wednesday theme from 12 pm to 2 pm. They took my details down and told me to arrive between 11:30 and 11:45. My partner and I arrived at paint & jrink at 11:45 today only to find the door locked and a sign saying that the door would open at 12:30, i.e. the class would now start at 1 pm. I called them to complain as we could not stay longer than what we were told. The guy on the phone was rude and lacked any customer skills. Instead of apologising, he simply told me that "shit happens" and that the class was now moved up to 1 pm! I told him that he should have called me to let me know. He again said that "shit happens" and told me that I would have been late anyway as it was now 11:55. He obviously assumed that we were late to arrive! All they needed to have done is pick up the phone and give me a call in advance, which would have taken a maximum of 5 min. I was on the phone for almost 10 min. arguing with him, and not once did he apologise! I live almost 40 min. away from their premises, so this was an utter waste of time, especially since my partner had to take time off work for this. Who will reimburse me for the time wasted? Obviously not paint & jrink who are incompetent and unprofessional! read more

Me and my friends were in new orleans looking for something different to do. While walking in the Marigny area we came up on a sip and paint studio attach to Frenchmen ART market. We called the number that was on display outside the venue, we made a reservation for 6 ppl for an 8pm session. Once we came in for our session later that day the space was stunningly beautiful, hardwood floors, high ceilings great lighting. The session started promptly, we placed our wine on ice and headed to the studio area to begin painting. The staff was friendly the instructor was great, it was a great experience. I have actually been here twice before and received great service. I am giving them a one star today because I did encounter bad service today. Long story short, my mother is visiting from Belgium, she comes once a year and I thought this would be something fun and nice to do before she leaves. On Groupon on the fine print, it states that it can only be used in the daytime, okay no problem. I went over to the website to see what time they open and it stated 12:00pm, great, I purchased the Groupon right away. The plan was to go today, Wednesday, I called to make reservations and Bianca told me I couldn't make reservations because the Groupon is good for Saturdays only. I said, it doesn't mention that on Groupon. She then said on our website it says 12:00pm but the actual studio opens at 6:00pm. Don't you think you should add that little detail? She recommended for me to call Groupon and get a refund, but they don't refund you, they give you Groupon dollars. I called the corporate office to resolve the issue and see if anyone was willing to assist me. I got greeted by a lady named Jamie, and proceeded to tell her what was going on. As soon as I mentioned Groupon, she said, we are not on Groupon. I said excuse me? She said we aren't on Groupon. I said yes you are because I purchased it, but clearly you won't be able to help me if you don't even know your own business, so I hung up. How can you work for corporate and not know that your business is listed on Groupon? How can you be so unprofessional and then not accommodate when you are wrong? I am in the hospitality/customer service industry, I know something could have been done to accommodate us, but management chose not to. CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE, ITS CALLED MAKING IT RIGHT! I bought a Groupon. The Groupon expired before I could use it. When I called to try to schedule a time to visit, I realized that the Groupon was only worth the amount paid. But the woman I spoke with said she did not think we could use it at all. That is not what the actual Groupon said, and it is goes against Groupon's own policy. In addition, she told me the Groupon was only good during day-time sessions (10-2pm), BUT I had it right in front of me and it said valid for ANY open session. The person I gave this Groupon to works regular business hours and I would not have bought it in the first place. BTW, I read the fine-print BEFORE purchasing this. When I told her that, she said that it "should have" said that. Not only that, but she said that priced listed on their website for open sessions did not apply to people with Groupons, but that we would have to pay $70 for an open session night, even though their website has various prices depending on the time and day. To top it all off, this woman was extremely rude. They actually do not care about their customers, or following any decent business practices. read more
