The staff were extremely unhelpful. For my first day I was put on a team with my brother and we have never played before. Then the staff decided that they would make teams with only 2 beginners and the other team had 2 experienced players with all of there equipment and one other kid that would not stop shooting at me and my brother even after I called my hits when I wasn't even hit. PBC is a great local field to have in Charleston. The store has a lot to chose from, including the line of HK joggers and casual apparel. The store front also has several markers, tanks, barrels, packs etc. chances are if you need something, they have it. Paint starts at 45$ (I think) a case and goes up from there. I paid 50$ish for social paintball "2 star". It's quality paint. For on the spot paint pricing, it's a fair price. I've been all over the US to play at different fields, and they're right inline with others around the country. The field largely is made up of rec fields, however they do have a solid air ball field. If you check their Facebook page, you'll be able to see when they are offering "open speedball", to those who wish to get out and run practices against other teams. I know they have also offered Friday Night Air Ball, in the past and do plan on bringing it back at some point. The refs do a great job and take safety seriously. I've always seen large rental groups and small birthday parties a like, and they're all following the safety protocols set forth by the referees, who explain the rules and the field they are playing, before taking the field. Everyone seems to be having a blast. The players at the field are nice and have always been welcoming. My last time out there on a Sunday, there was a live DJ, who played music the entire day. For those with families, the field has a very nice swing set and play ground for the little ones. Lots of open, organized parking. You will need to bring beverages and snacks. With covid, I believe they are no longer able to sell on site. All in all, If you're looking to get out and play some ball', this is an excellent place to stop by and have fun, with our without the family! read more

Great paintball we are first timers so having nothing to compare it to. Getting set up was a little chaotic as it was a busy Sunday but once we got our gear and balls we had a blast Lots of fields, got pizza take out near by that we brought back and could eat at the picnic tables at the paintball place. Great adventure! It's a big place with different areas to play and very well organized. I had a party with my 12 year olds. They had a blast but they got a little intimidated by the "professionals" or experts that also played in the recreational game. Definitely go for a private party and gather a group for fun. Pretty much the only paintball place in Charleston. I'll just say it straight up. gameplay across all the available fields (and future fields) are going to be fast paced with paintballs flying fast, all over the place as soon as those horns go off from the refs so find cover, quick! If it's your first time playing, they have rental equipment and a set of safety rules that everyone has to follow to ensure there's safe operation and maximizing the fun factor. If you really like the sport, then their store has all kinds of available gear and markers if you feel ready to...."level up". again, just follow the rules when you sign the waivers like keeping the barrel socks on in the staging area for example and you're good to go. Very good paintball place with a huge terrain and multiple (7+) themes. You can play in the woods, green land with trenches and hidden tunnels, a small city with observation towers, the classic field with inflatable covers, etc... The instructors are overall nice and take security extremely serious, make sure nobody ever takes off their masks on the field (happens more than you'd think), and so on. It costs 75$ to have a referee for your private group which is ok in my opinion. However, we waited for our instructor about 15 min as he was talking next to us with his buddies so I think they could be a bit more customer-oriented sometimes as we we're ready to go. But after he joined our group, he was there for us the whole day. While their rental equipment is overall ok, the masks are terrible. They fog up extremely fast, especially during games in the humid Charleston climate. After 15 min your visibility is reduced by at least 75% due to fogging which extremely limits your overall experience and fun. Since good masks cost about 50$ online, I don't understand why they don't rent better masks. So think ahead and get a good mask from amazon before you go here - you will have a far better experience. Nevertheless, 4 stars since this is overall a very good paintball place and the variety of themes to play really sets them apart. read more

We arrived this morning only to be turned away because they had us down for 1 pm. They refused to give us our deposit back, even though it was clearly a mistake on their end. First time I have been on a real course with my boyfriend. I was nervous about these "non-amateurs" but it was awesome! We went with a group which I think is best and a lot of people seem to do it that way. The referees are great, Fun, professional, and encouraging. They keep the game fair and structured. Course layouts are great! Different objectives and courses. Different experience everytime. I can't compare prices because I don't know but the staff was great. All in all a good decision and a good day. read more
