Best tasting grass fed free range beef I've ever had! Happy cows come from Oregon! They proudly serve this fine beef at many restaurants including BellaNotte in Crescent City ca and they cook it amazingly! read more

I buy only painted hills beef at Chuck's Produce in Vancouver, Wa. I trust the quality, especially the hamburger. I particularly like the Chuck roasts. My family raves about the flavor and tenderness. The filet mignon is out of this world. read more

Fresh steaks and cuts or preserved jerky. It's all excellent. Such a great purveyor of beef. As someone that has my usual butcher im not beyond finding other great sources of meat, Painted hills has super high quality products and if i could id source from them much more often read more

This is the same beef we feel our families. Painted Hills Natural & Grass-Fed beef is raised with NO Added Hormones, NO Antibiotics, Pasture Raised and fed a 100% Vegetarian Diet. Our cattle are never fed animal by-products of any kind. This is beef you can trust.

History

Established in 1996.

Painted Hills Natural Beef originates in Wheeler County, Oregon. The story behind PHNB begins in the mid-90s. Several ranchers got together to discuss the current trends in the beef industry and how to add value to beef products. They discovered that they were all experiencing the same confusion. "Why is it that I am producing top quality cattle and yet all I hear at grocery stores and restaurants is that beef isn't as good as it used to be?" As it turned out, the cattle that came from the ranches of Wheeler County were being lost in the mix of cattle from all over North America. Their cattle were being blended into pens that held cattle of lower quality. This beef, in turn, was being sent to the market and restaurants, resulting in unhappy consumers. Those ranchers decided to do something. They formed a corporation called Painted Hills Premium Beef, Inc. - the groundwork for Painted Hills Natural Beef.
